That's true. And I think there are plenty of people who wouldn't expose their feelings to someone if they notice that someone likes someone else... which is what I'm going for here.

I know for a fact now that readers of this story fall in two categories: those who like Alexander fiercely, and those who think he's a bit (or more) of a bastard. I like to believe he can be both Lyn's demon and a great guy Brad is... we'll see And thanks a lot for the praise! It means a lot.

The question is not addressed to me... but my intention was to have Alexander give Lyn a compliment. Maybe he just threw it in Lyn's face, though. Just saying.

He definitely is a good person, regardless of how Lyn interprets the situation. And they are friends - will become friends (in the past) because they actually like and care about each other, no matter their little frictions.

He-he, I assume that he's a bit of a jerk and comes across as such, only that he is, as you say, pretty blunt, despite his words.

Lyn so wishes things to be as 'before'. But that's not possible. So he keeps on remembering his friends as they were, which may be different from what they are like now.

Don't worry! Lyn's POV dominates the page, and his being too dense for his own good - too lost in his own head - influences what's shown. The three friends share a dynamic, for sure.

Wencel basically wants someone to tell him he's right about how he chooses to proceed about the whole situation. Fueled by the desire for revenge, he still knows - something deep - that he's wrong, which is why he tries so hard to get his brother on his side. I agree with you that Wen is far from being the biblical type, but he thinks that because his parents were wronged, he's in the right to wrong others, too. I've seen this sort of logic before - it's weird, and it's not logical, but it exists. Hearst will have a game to play. He's a smart kid. Have faith in him

I've noticed for a while that my stories fail to follow a mold... maybe I just have too many wild ideas in my head, lol! But I'd never write a story that bores me, because I think it would bore the readers, too! Hence all the quirkiness that's sometimes overflowing... A lot of people loved Otis. I'm so glad
