Thanks for your shared thoughts and comments @milanon , simply their is no comparison between the character Jamie and the international action in Afghanistan (Operation Slipper) where Australian military personnel and assets were deployed, saw action in real harms way. I have the greatest respect for all services and nations involved in that action. In this story, Jamie is desperately trying to sort his life, and part of that is to try (and fail a bit) and restart on the “right foot”. Sam, would have been a walk up life partner for Jamie, but Jamie was unsure of himself and where his life is headed, and in a moment of rare clarity, let Sam go with all of that in mind. After saying our goodbyes in the predawn light, it was time to head off on our road trip. Josh had gotten a call at about 1 am from his workplace - they were called to help the US Forest service as they were mobilizing a large group of firefighters with some big fires that were burning in the Sequoia National forest and their logistical support guys needed help. Howdy, Novy wasn’t stuck at home all alone, he had friends hence th pizza, parents are allowed to have some time off the clock to be... adults and just them, not mom , dad etc just them. As for embarrassment, the two leads in the story are quite open about being together and out. The sub characters are too in their own way, but we don’t really get In to them as this story is about Brady and November , their point of view with some support from others to build the story context. Novy has no baggage with regard to his father, he’s actually a good role model for showing his faults, resolving them in an appropriate way with his ex wife, and being honest to hisself, his kids and friends... pretty good I think have a great day 😁

I like the back story line, and am enjoying Kevin. Still totally hooked on Adam Becker, but I’m coming to understand Kevin more and the pain he felt in ending it with Adam. Can wait for the next chapters , Thank you.
