Hi everyone. Chapter 15 is complete and has been uploaded onto the site, but is in Moderation at the moment as per the new authors publishing guidelines. Will hopefully be approved soon

Thank you for the lovely comment @pvtguy. Although I love detail, I try to remember that less is more. I hope I am achieving that.

Don't know why I haven't replied to this comment. My apologies @Summerabbacat. I was on vacation on Mauritius in January 2002 when Cyclone Dina hit the island causing widespread destruction. So the description comes from first hand experience. The coconut embedded in the side of the building I saw with my own eyes. Frightening to say the least!

This is one of those stories that I find myself coming back to time and time again. @lilansuican weave a tale like no other. Her characters are all so engaging that you too want to be part of their lives. I loved ths story the first time I read it and have now just read it for the third time and enjoyed it just as much. I would happily recommend this beautifully written tale to the readers

Hi everyone, going to address all your comments here as the replies would all be the same. Firstly, I had originally envisaged this chapter to include the funeral itself, but it just got too long, so I had to split it in two. I was very hesitant to post this chapter because I felt it didn't really go anywhere, and that the storyline was just 'marking time'. So I'm very thankful for all your great comments. I had no idea just how difficult it would be write these chapters. I have found myself getting very emotional as well, (and I'm the author, dammit!!), and then poring over what I have written for hours trying to decide if it's good enough, too trite, or if it needs to be toned down. And the next chapter is the same. Too much! Too little! That is the question!

Following the bombshell news that Jamie Jnr and Fiona would be placed under their dad's guardianship, they made sure that Andrew and Ryan were never out of their sight. In fact, they clung to their dad's like gum to a blanket. Andrew took Jamie, still fast asleep, upstairs to their bedroom and placed him gently on the big bed, covering him with a blanket that lay across the foot of the bed. He lay down next to his little mini-me and studied his son, his heart so full of love that it felt as

Thank you @pvtguy, my trips through Canada were probably my best ever. Fell in love with the country, ( although never had a full winter), and the Banff trip I can truly say was an absolute highlight.

I will admit the thought did cross my mind that he may be dead, but I thought it might have been Belle that had quietly offed him.

Thanks @raven1. You may have noticed I like detail but it's a very fine line. Too much can become overwhelming and tedious, while too little might not give the full picture and just be a waste of time.

Hi @raven1, Thank you. Yeah, a fair bit of 'Never walk alone' is semi-autobiographical. It helps that I was in the hotel industry for most of my career and was involved in a number of start-up and openings as well as procurements
-
@raven1, thank you taking the time to read 'Never walk alone' and for the comment. I hope you enjoy it. It still boggles my mind that a story I wrote is still being read and commented on.
-
Thank you @Mancunian. I really feel like I'm letting everyone down down who follow me and 'Never walk alone', so all the great feedback and encouragement is very uplifting. You are absolutely correct that this chapter was difficult to write. And the next one is proving just as hard.

Anton, thank you so much for the great comment. The good news is that this book will continue for a few more chapters yet. Although it would be an ideal place to end it, and I did consider it, again as you mentioned, it just felt a bit short compared to Book 1 and I also felt that there were just too many loose ends to end it now. So it will continue. As IO stated in a previous comment, the next few chapter outlines are there, they just need fleshing out.

@Anton_Cloche, thank you for the fantastic recommendation.

Thank you @drsawzall. Coming from you, high praise indeed.

Thank you. That is so encouraging.

Thanks Chris. Your comments are much appreciated and always so positive

Thank you @Gomez Stanley C. It was a hard chapter to write. I think even more so that the chapter in Book 1 dealing with Ryan's kidnapping and assault. It was also part of the reason why the book has not progressed the way I wanted it to because I got bogged down with this chapter. I don't know how many times I rewrote the chapter and even in the end I am still not completely happy with it. The good thing is it seems to have ticked everyones boxes, so I guess i should be satisfied. As far as future chapters are concerned, I have outlines for several of them. They just need fleshing out.

Andrew and Ryan sat on their bed, huddled close together, their backs leaning on the padded headboard, and stared numbly at the bedroom TV. It was tuned in to SkyNews and the footage of the disaster unfolding just off the Scottish coast was once again being shown. Only now, it was hitting much closer to home, and they stared at the TV in horror, red eyed. The ringing of Ryan's mobile at 2.30am had woken them and both knew that any call at that time of the night could only be bad news. And

For someone who has only fairly recently discovered and become interested in this genre of writing, I loved every word. From beginning to end I was captivated and couldn't wait for the next chapter to be published. Very highly recommended!!
