Engineer Benson - Chapter 9 July 23 - 24, 1993
kbois commented on Wayne Gray's story chapter in Engineer Benson - Chapter 9 July 23 - 24, 1993
It's good to see the group working so well together. The large group of zombies, hmm, could be advantageous to getting rid of them. Sort of like leading lemmings off the cliff. Love the new realizations between Mark and Wayne. They need to embrace their love for what it is. Great chapter Wayne. -
It's a serious situation that I'm not in the right place mentally or emotionally to write right now.

I know. I know. Unfortunately, I've had life throw a lot of crap my way the past couple of months. It's been a challenge just to function as a normal person. I'm trying to get back on track. I promise.

I hope you heal quickly. I can relate. I dislocated my right shoulder once and couldn't use that arm for several weeks. It's hard. Get better soon!

Go back to your Korner

Wow. Something I can't take the blame for.

I like this one. It's a fresh week and I'm optimistic that it will be better than last. Have a good week everyone.

It might just be my frame of mind of late, but the one line that stands out for me is this: Where truthfulness is a holy myth So many of us are chasing the myth when it comes to ourselves.

Chapter 8 - July 22, 1993
kbois commented on Wayne Gray's story chapter in Chapter 8 - July 22, 1993
It's great to see you got your mojo going with this one. I loved the new direction the story is taking. Things don't look quite so dire. But then again, it's a fictional story filled with zombies so anything can happen. Ohhhh.. btw, Mr. Buck? Early 50s? He's not that old Wayne, NOT THAT OLD!- 20 comments

Haven't had anything bite me yet in that genre.

Series are difficult to write no matter what approach you take. I've learned that with my Hybrid Journey series. I think the biggest obstacle is life. It tends to get in the way. The first story in my series got put to the side after 8 or 10 chapters because at the time, I didn't have the maturity as a writer to develop it properly. I flew through the 2nd story. Now in the middle of the 3rd and final story, I find myself searching for the a) time, b) energy, c) ambition, d) motivation, etc, because life has decided to throw some difficult challenges at me. Authors face obstacles and we can only hope our readers will understand and be patient.

They don't do that. Nobody wants to "get involved". 🙄 Recently had to speak to a resident who was looking after 2 granddaughters and letting them run wild in the community. They were hiding behind trash cans and jumping out at people as they drove by on their golf carts or would chase after them yelling. Did anyone call 911? Not until I told the 4th or 5th person who complained that I couldn't do anything unless I had a police incident report. Ohhhh... the person who called repeatedly during my lunch yesterday? Saw 2 people walking around the shuffleboard courts with something that looked like towels in their hands. Ummm... maybe they were going to the pool? SMH. I love my job (said sarcastically) Is it Friday?

I think Di Niro could pull it off, no problem!

I could hang a flashing neon sign an there are a few people who wouldn't believe it applied to them. I had someone open my office door when I was in a meeting with my boss and another manager. In. A. Meeting. My boss looked at me incredulously and I just said "Welcome to my world." LOL I now lock my door too.

Pet peeve of the day: People..... Between the hours of 12n and 1pm please don't: 1. Call my office number, hang up then call my cell and not leave a message. Or even worse... repeat. 2. Rap on my closed window and you can see the lights are off. 3. So help me, I will not guarantee anyone's safety if you attempt to open my office door which is in the same position as my window- Closed! It's safe to say I am at lunch. LEAVE ME ALONE! I get 20-30 minutes a day. Whatever issue you have can wait. Thank you. I hope everyone else enjoys a quiet lunchtime and has a good rest of the week. 🤪

Thanks Reader. Unfortunately things aren't great, but I've got an amazing support system who have bolstered me immensely the past few weeks. Time is the only that will help at thus point.

Unfortunately not tonight. Things have rolled downhill pretty fast. My heart feels crushed and I really wish I could talk to my mom.

It's the oversized shoes I have trouble with. My feet like my flip flops too much. Lol

Your father sounds like an amazing man. Love and acceptance for who we are is the best gift our parents can give us. You hit the jackpot. Thank you for sharing a glimpse of who your dad was. We need more positive influences nowadays. Take care of yourself and allow those who love you to hold you up when you need it. As someone wise recently told me: And make sure you stop sometimes and smell the roses. Take time for yourself. Take it from one who knows. You need to do that at least a little bit. Buy yourself some flowers, or order in one night to give yourself a break. You deserve and it's important. xo

I needed this today. Lol. So true.

I'm doing the best I can. Thanks.

Is that supposed to be spinach? I'll pass. Fresh spinach with some feta maybe. That stuff? Yeah. Um. Hard no.
