Today was a really good day. We dropped off my mom at my brothers and as we left I looked at my husband and said "Let's go for a ride". He said "north or south?" As we approached the highway I said "south, north is too tempting to keep driving til we hit cool weather. Lol" So we ended up in Cape Coral which is about an hour and a half south of us. He found a casual tiki bar restaurant on the water. So we got seated on the "beach" (tables under the outside deck in the sand) and I enjoyed a nice Sangria and a burger and he had a Rum Runner and a Cuban sandwich. The restaurant was right on the bay and we took a nice walk along the fishing pier. It was breezy so not too hot. I still turned a little red....damn fair skin! Now it's a little pecan whiskey and just chillin. We're going away for a long weekend in two weeks, so trying to plan a few things to do. Have a good evening!

Hi rick, No plans other than the same. I did get a lot done today. House is cleaned, laundry done and everybody's been fed. Just have dog walking to tick off the list. I laid off the phone and electronics today and feel better. I think I was scrolling way too much for my own good. I had to chuckle, my son went to give my mom a hug and our big dog ran over and started barking at him. Zeke had apparently claimed my mom as primary attention giver and didn't want to share her. Both dogs know exactly where to go for belly rubs and ear scratches! Hope everyone has a good evening!

It takes a lot to piss me off. I'm never offended just because a reader has a different opinion. I actually like to see opposite views. It makes things interesting. I try to be as open minded as possible. 🙂

Those are so cute! I love the suggestion of using scarves for material...only problem is that those are hard to find in Florida..lol. I'll have to check out the Dollar Store and see what they have this year. Those little boots are adorable. Thanks tim!

There are definitely pros and cons to therapy. Not everyone benefits from it. I've seen it help people I know and I've known people who don't get much out of it. It's all in the individual. These guys need a little help when it comes to recognizing how they affect each other. Thanks for commenting!

It was an interesting journey for me, both as an author and a person. I learned a lot and gained a great deal of respect for those who live this lifestyle. I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

Wow, you brought back some memories for me tim. I took sewing lessons with my best friend when we were about 10 or 11. Our moms made us. She made shorts....I think they were red with white piping. I made a dress. Why?...I really don't know, I was such a tomboy growing up (5 older brothers will do that). We still laugh about the ugly shorts and the flowered dress. I used to crochet too. Unfortunately, the tendonitis in my thumb has left me unable to grasp very well and repetitive motion aggravates it. I'm sure I'll figure out something. I just need to give myself a swift kick in the ass to get motivated. Christmas is coming, maybe I'll hit the craft store and find something I can make without wanting to chop my thumb off! I should probably get back to writing too. I'm starting to miss it. Just waiting for the voices in my head to speak up..lol. Thanks for the pep talk, it's much appreciated. I'll check out Arne and Carlos, they sound fun.

Thanks Bard! I have to admit, while researching for this chapter I was fascinated by the artwork that I saw. The way that intricacy and intimacy can be woven together is damn beautiful. As for the rest.....🤐...keep reading!

Awww... that's awesome! That made me smile today. *HONK!*

Hmm, interesting quote rick. I have to be honest, I've been struggling the past couple of weeks. I feel like I'm stuck on the hamsters wheel, spinning around and around, going nowhere. Everyday is more of the same, every weekend too. It doesn't help that it seems like I'm in a cycle of not sleeping well and I'm exhausted every day. I'd certainly like for things to change but I have no clue how to do that. My pain level from my knees and thumb seem to have ramped up too. I'm in a catch 22. I know I have to move and exercise more, but when I do, it hurts more and makes me more tired, but I don't sleep any better. Ugh, I'm just a mess. I should probably figure out what my priorities are first before I see if anything needs to change or not.

I have said many times that TC and David would never work as a couple. Sinclair was in my mind right from the start. I'm happy you like him, he's a good fit for them .

Sorry about the tears! That was scene that got the whole ball rolling in my head. It is what it is. I'm glad you like TC. He's got a good heart. They both have a lot to work on and they will both do that in part 2. There's a few surprises too. Let me know what you think@ Thanks for commenting!

Something really good I'm sure. Nice to hear from you Wayne! Other than never getting enough sleep things are going ok. Enjoy your evening!

That actually sounds like fun. I always made pretty good bank when I was a kid raking yards for the neighbors with my best friend. We hated having to do our own yards, both our parents were cheapskates and basically said we should do it for free. My mom usually slipped us $5 bucks each. Minimum wage was just over $3 and hour and each yard took 3-4 hours. We definitely got shortchanged! 😂 (not to mention the blisters!)

Chapter 17 - When game night isn't so fun
kbois commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 17 - When game night isn't so fun
my Grandpa would say, ‘you’re looking a little crooked, must be from all that bad posture’. I've never heard that expression before. I rather like it. I get it now..lol! Great chapter, looking forward to the next.- 24 comments

So far today is good. The heat has returned, but it's not as humid as last week. I'm sometimes like @spyke with crossing a bridge before I get to it. I also occasionally put my cart in front of my horse and count those pesky chickens before they hatch. Sometimes it works out and sometimes not. Life will throw what it wants to at us and we have to deal with it the best we can. Have a good day!

I had to laugh this weekend. My younger son, who dyed his hair blond, decided he wanted to dye it black. OK, no big deal. Got him black dye, and helped him apply it. Roughly an hour later: Son: (from the kitchen) Hey Mom? Me: What? Son: Do you know what happens when you go from blond to black? Me: thinking 'oh $#!+' Son: you go back to square one. He came into the living room and I swear his hair was back to its original color. (It was within a couple of shades) We both busted out laughing. I had to go to wmart anyway because they delivered the wrong color for my hair and I really didn't want purple tinged hair. So I got him another box, different brand and now he has black hair. This kid's antics will always amuse me! Have a good day everyone!

I've never liked Halloween to begin with. It's fun when you're a kid. I always had to take my kids, because you just can't let them go by themselves. Once they were too old it was lights out. The doorbell would drive the dogs nuts anyway. This year, why push it. Keep the kids home and the light off. A scavenger hunt or something similar to an Easter egg hunt would be a good alternative.

Good morning all! It's a rainy, dreary day today. When I look outside I think it should be cold too, but it's in the low 70s. I've been on FL over 12 years and this time of year always throws me off. I swear there are some days when I have no idea what month it is. I miss the change of seasons. I've heard that the foliage is really beautiful this year. Have a good day everyone!

Thumb brace is on....still hurts, but now I can't move it much, so the stabbing pain isn't there every time I grip something. Hopefully the swelling will go down and I won't have a drumstick instead of a thumb!
-
We can go out, but I won't go anywhere unless I have to, and it's always with a mask. I'm getting sick of my house, but we just deal with it. On a positive note, my new thumb brace is 10 stops away. Too bad I'm at work and won't be home for another 3 hours or so...it'll be so good to put it on.

Talking is a good start. You have to go at your own pace. Write when you're ready and when it's something you want to do, not something you feel that you have to do. Covid/2020 needs a spanking and and a time out. Or maybe a hit man. Yeah, Covid needs to just go away. Disappear, never to be heard from again. They'll never find the body. Right? 🤣

Great chapter. It was a pleasure helping out. The ending is perfect. Looking forward to the next chapter. I'm glad everyone is ok and that your house is still standing.

Yes, I snorted when I read this. Still no offer on the new home we have, but I'm working the open house tomorrow. 🤞
