  1. -5°F/-20°C Omg. I think Hell has frozen over! I better go check on Lucifer. It might be a two pair of socks day.
  2. To put things in perspective.... In Florida, other than wearing socks with sneakers when I went to the gym(cuz otherwise eewww) I can honestly say that on average I had to wear socks maybe 7-10 days a year. Now, other than showering and being tucked under the covers at night, my poor toes have not seen the light of of day in months. Months, people, months!!!!! As a consolation, I'm going for a pedicure next weekend so they don't mutiny. I can't wait for it to hit 50°F so I can break out the flip flops.
  3. The look on the cat's face says it all
  4. You can rock those, my friend, and I'll rock the open-toed pair like the badass I think I am. 🤣
  5. I'll take a pair in every color.
  6. Dear Florida, I'm sorry. I miss you.
  7. Math isn't my strong suit, but based on a 40 hour week, for two years, your employer owes you almost $30K. More if overtime is involved or raises are involved. I think that's worth getting a lawyer for. Sorry you're going through this.
  8. Calico cat and a two tone mouse... And border can be multicolored. Problem solved.
  9. So... Since I've been back up north where the Arctic tundra is apparently a thing I may have forgotten about in my 17 years in the Sunshine State, I've been trying to get my various aches and pains and overall health in check. I found a great primary care physician who I really like. Does it seem like I have a million referrals? Yep. I've been going to physical therapy once a week to work on the hips and knees because they got really messed up when I was battling the ankle tenosynovitis for 1.5 years. Its been helping. I didn't realize how off my gait really is. I've also made a decision to have weight loss surgery later this year. I'm not sure exactly when as it depends on how soon I drop 30lbs before the bariatric doctor will schedule it. I also can't take time off from the new job during the summer as it's the busy season. So I think if I can't have it by early June then September is realistic. In the meantime, I have to have a slew of preliminary tests done. Most I have to schedule, which I've done for a couple of them so far. I didn't need an appointment for an EKG or chest x-ray so I decided to get those out of the way after my PT today. Can I just say I was mightily impressed with the hospital I go to for all this stuff. My PT ended right before 11 and I was in my car on the way back home by 11:33. Both the X-ray and EKG were really quick with very little wait. Practically unheard of. So I've set the wheels in motion. I know it's going to be a long journey but it'll be worth it in the end if I can live much healthier. Wish me luck. Have a good day everyone!
  10. Sigh.... I'm gonna play a subliminal recording every night for you .. Pats, not cats!
  11. I'm back living in New England so of course it's the Pats all the way!
  12. I did one better. I ordered a power converter for the car and an actual heater like the ones you put under your desk at work. Amazon..... Same day delivery. Maybe there is a god. Today's high will be 10F with wind chills well below zero. Send help.
  13. Too late lol. Glad your furnace is getting fixed.

    Prologue

  15. We're at 16.5 inches so far. The guys are out shoveling. I'm sure the plow will come by again right after they're done. More of the white stuff to come, maybe another couple of inches. Camden is packing his things. Pretty sure he's going to be hitchhiking back to Florida.
  16. I can thoroughly picture Camden getting his nails trimmed and buffed while his human servants hand feeds him milk bones and puperoni. He's not keen on being bathed but he loves the blow dryer. He's definitely prissy lol. Dogs that love the snow are awesome. Our first girl couldn't wait to go out and chase snowballs. Camden would no doubt sit his ass down and look at me like I had 3 heads if I tried to throw a snowballs for him lol.
  17. He's only part dachshund. The rest of him is a prissy poodle who lived 16 years in Florida. Anything under 50°F and we have to literally push his tail out the door. We're about to get hit with several hours of snowfall rates between 1"-3" per hour. So if we get 4 hours of 3 inches per hour that's 2 dachshunds high. 🤣
