What's with the damn cats!? Is there a hidden hidden theme?
That aside, this was a fun story with lots of laughs. There aren't too many people I'd ever want to take a road trip like this with without wanting to throw them out of the moving car at some point. Lol
Thanks secret author!
Maeve is what my brother calls a 'feeder'. His wife is one.. they will try to feed you no matter what the occasion or whether or not you're hungry.. food is the ultimate cure all in their world. Lol
I agree. I've read some stories that have had me tearing my hair out. But they've usually had a good outcome... unless the author kills the dog... then I won't read another word o matter how good it was. So far no chance of that in tim's story.
I think freedom is what you make of it. Even though some of us live in the land of the free... we are still bound by laws and morality (there's a whole other discussion).
Matt now has the opportunity and the means to explore his newfound freedom. It's up to him to figure out what that means.
This was an excellent chapter tim!
I loved this little tale. The author did a great job with the descriptions of the old garden and the explanation at the end of the grandparents love story was sweet.
A nice twist on the usual angst of figuring out one's true self.
Thanks Secret Author!
Andy has rightfully been chastised for his decision. It's never good when you incur the wrath of your parents.
"Who was that, my love?" he asked.
"Your son," Doreen replied as she settled on the sofa.
Such a classic "Mom" line. It made me laugh when I first read it and it still makes me smile. It's always the spouse's child when the kid effs up.
Matt still has an uncertain future ahead of him but at least he now has his freedom.
Cats in general... meh... but I enjoyed the story. It's well written and the human characters are relatable. The author did a great job with the human emotional side. From the panic Maison feels at thinking he's lost his sister's kitten to the angst Evan feels at realizing he's in love with his best friend and the consequences of that love. Even the fierce protectiveness that Evan's mom has for Maison comes across loud and clear.
Excellent job!
Being a trafficker... and researching such individuals is one thing. Rescuing someone vulnerable is another.
Andy has insights as to how the business operates. He is speculating as to what toll it takes on those who were its victim.
