    Chapter #22

When I first started reading this chapter I was afraid that something happened. Isaac said “If this ends up being our last letter”. As I read along I learned for sure that something did happen and it was all positive. I also realized at the end Isaac have Max his contact information to text, call or write using another means. It is very obvious the two of them will continue to communicate with each other. Who knows it might just be a life long friendship. As a teacher in the United States, I was able to set up with a classroom in Canada a pen pal thing, very much like this writing. It even turned out that we were able to visit our pen pals. Some of those pen pal connections are still going on. This past fall I flew to Stockholm, Sweden to see an exchange student who lived with me 25 years ago. This story really hit home with me because it was so real. I have experienced first hand what this story was about. There are lots of unknown people out there. Life can be made rich by getting to know them. Great story, I can’t say I am looking forward to Ch23 because I know that will be the end of the story from you, but I also know from real life experience it will not be the end of a friendship begun from a writing assignment.

    Scott's Story

I am soooooooo glad I read this story after reading Mark's Revenge. I had a very negative feeling about Scott after reading Mark's Revenge. I found that started looking at Scott with a whole different perspective early on in this story. Did he deserve what happened to him in Mark's revenge, absolutely, the way he acted in that story, he deserved everything he got, but I was really glad to see why he was the way he was. I suppose any of us could turn into someone like him, but it was great to see that he could change. If you read this story, you must read Mark's Revenge. It is really great to see that Scott had some hidden talents that he had never tapped and he was able to turn them into something positive. I really hope that the author will have to them to read another sequel to this and Mark's Revenge and bring everyone back together.

    Mark's Revenge

I can honestly say I enjoy the stories Ronyx writes. I have been working my way through all his stories, which of course means I come to this one. I was not sure with the title just how it was going to go. This story provides an opportunity for the reader to feel his full rage of emotions. I found myself everything from happy to ticked, easy going to worried. Great writers can do that to their readers. I really liked everyone in this story except for Scott, then I read Scott's story and changed my mind about him. If you read this story then you absolutely must reads Scott's Story so you don't continue to hate him for the rest of your life. I was fine with the revenge of Mark and Bobby, though I think I like what happened in the end with the other two boys. Scott deserved everything that happened to him. If I could put in a HUGE request. Please consider another write on this story. After reading Scott's Story I can for sure see a Senior Year story that brings everyone back together. Great story. Time to stop writing and get going on the next of Ronyx stories
  4. A very well written story. I was curious how the format was going to work because it was going to be a journal entry. It turned out quiet well. The story line really kept my interest and I liked how it flowed. There was plenty of positive and negative to keep my interest. I do a lot of reading as well as I am an editor for some of the writers here on this site, so I am always looking for writers with good skills and the ability to tell a good story. This story was very believable and that happens to be something I look for in a story. I could see this being true. Great read, it has caused me to want to read other things by this author, which I have done. Thanks for taking the time to think up and write this story.
  5. I should have written a review on this story the second I finished it, but I was so busy, I just did have the time. I have the time now and I must say, this is one of the very best stories I have read on this site. Crushes are real, and they don't always turn out as well as they do in this story. So many authors either do not have the time nor do they want to take the time to develop the full possibilities of a story. This story takes its time and you get a look from ever angle of a true loving relationship. I must confess, at one point I was so concerned where things were going, I had to jump to the end to see if Noah and Jordon were still together. After learning what I wanted to know, I could go back and read along with peace in my heart, not turmoil. Wouldn't it be nice if like was like a story and you could skip ahead and see how things turn out? For sure this story hit every emotional point. Very well done, I loved it.

    Chapter 21

I have enjoyed your stories from the very first thing I read of yours. This one was such a different format I found myself totally engrossed. You did a great job of taking two people and introducing them to us in such a way me for and I am sure I speak for the other readers as well. I really cares about these guys. I learned so much about them and there were times I wanted to write to one of them and tell them wake up see what you are being told. I picked right away that Max was probably gay and having a hard time dealing with it. You created two charters that are so real in my mind that I can’t shake that they are just made up in your mind for us to read about. You accomplished a great deal with this story. Yes they need to make physical contact and become good friends.

    Chapter 20

When the two of them started writing due to the project, they likely had no intention of becoming friends. Friendship is a thing that grows. Sometimes friendship grow into love. It is no wonder that so many relationships fall apart. They start of with love and sex and skip the friend part. Yes there were hints given by Issac and maybe Issac didn’t really see how max was expressing himself. Issac said he is not gay, he likely didn’t see that Max was developing very strong feelings for him. He simply didn’t think that way. Max is looking for companionship, he is missing out on the love his dominate male figure (dad) should be giving him. Issac has that love, he even called it overly protective. I think Max will come around. He is in a bit of a shock right now. He has to make an adjustment. He is a good guy and will do what is right. Issac did do what was right too. Rather than just saying, end of project, good buy, he did reveal his true identity. He could have stayed quiet and left Max always wondering. Now the author (DK) has the responsibility to give us a satisfactory ending as well. 😊

    Chapter 19

Wow, that last paragraph really hit hard. I didn’t see a wheelchair in the story anywhere. I hope that Max is big enough to move right past the disability and be best friends with someone he has gotten to know so well. I think an advantage these days with on line chats is you get to know the inner person before you see the outer person. In the past most connections were made face to face and looks played a huge part in how far things would go. Now days it seems like more and more you get to know someone and when you see them face to face it doesn’t count for as much as it used to. The real person, that person’s innerbeing is who they really are. I hope Issac and Max can realize they already are good friends.

    Chapter 18

I read Max’s word “normal” and I had to think why is being gay not normal. I know as a fact that some of the most hateful people towards the gay community are those who can not accept that they are gay. Admitting to your self that you are gay, brings every into normalcy for yourself. Accepting who you are in every aspect of your life is the most important thing you can do for peace of mind. I can just bet that Max was nervous after coming out to Isaac. That was brave, and fortunately not fooling. It is great that Isaac was able to admit, how important the friendship of Max is to him. They both have needs that each other can help the other one out with. I must confess, I wonder sometimes how close to the authors real life are any of the things that an author writes. Life’s experiences and solutions are often times the best story and it for sure this writing is very thought provoking and enjoyable to read.

    Chapter 17

Great chapter and I mean really great. After your last chapter I wondered if Matt would open up at all now that he his identity had been discovered. Hell he didn’t just open up, he burst. They must have built up an amazing level of trust and friendship. You just don’t spill your guts to someone and after you revealed your last secret, say “please don’t tell anyone”. Matt is a neive and trusting soul. I am very glad that Sherlock proved to we the person Matt hoped he would be. Everyone of us needs someone we can be open with. Some people choose to pay a counselor, other are fortunate they have a close friend. Either way, or what ever way, people need to have a supporting person in their life. An interesting thing I have learned over the years is, it may not be your partner, it may be someone else. Sometimes it your partner you need to talk to someone else about. Great chapter DK. I am really excited to see where this continues to go.

    Chapter 16

There was so much in that entry. I think it is very likely they both know who the other one is. I am glad at least now that Max knows he has been found out. Now will Max share his knowledge of who the other boy is. The other big question is, will max continue to be open and talk about himself or will he clam up and be tight lipped now. Time will tell. I question the idea of putting Max’s name on a piece of paper and slipping it under the door of the counselor. That sounds like a sure fire way to end what could be a friendship. Lots of things fit under the title “Time will tell”. One thing for sure, the story will be heading in some new directions. Very enjoyable read. 🙂

    Used

I must confess I am a little worried about Ezra and what he has up his sleeve. Artie is young, he just doesn’t have very many life experiences under his belt. I hope, oh how I hope that he will follow Adams lead and not go behind his back and make contact with Ezra. I can’t see anything other than trouble brewing. Aside from that looming disaster, I am really glad that Adam expressed his feeling about Dizzy to him. Both Dizzy and Artie grew up with out a dad. Adam did have a dad who was a very poor example of what a dad should be like. Since leaving Texas Adam has had the opportunity to see and experience some great dads. Now Adam finds him self in a position to be a positive male role model in the life’s of both Artie and Dizzy. It seems to me he has been doing pretty well with his responsibilities. Both Artie and Dizzy have a chance to learn so much. Adam has had the hurt and is trying to keep both the boys from having to experience it.

    Spooked

Another great chapter. Several high points. I am really glad that Charlotte and Adam are working together to get Dizzy back on track. Artie can use the help with his computer skill. It was great that Artie had a hard work out at baseball he needed to feel good about playing again. Now the elephant in the room is Ezra. You can see for sure how small Artie/Adam home town is. Ezra gets word that Artie is in Dallas from a man on a horse, small town stuff. No doubt Adam has an opinion about Ezra and I hope that all communication Artie has with Ezra goes through Adam. It may result in Artie learning just what kind of guy his bio-dad is. Lots of things going on. It will be great seeing how they get worked out.

    Chapter 15

I have been enjoying this pen pal adventure since the first writing. I am sure if I sat down and wrote all my thoughts down it might be as long as the story it’s sekf. The one outstanding thing is, here are two people who really are polar opposites and who would probably never associate with each other because it is obvious they live in two different worlds. Through a forced communication, they are becoming friends. How do I know they are becoming friends. They are sharing person information and feelings with each other. The example in this story is, if people will spend the time to communicate with each other, who knows, you might even find out you like the other person. I know the story will come to an end one day and according to what you wrote at the beginning, you will be exiting this site. I can’t help but think the two boys in this story will become life long friends, maybe even more. As for you, all I can do is wish you the very best in your future endeavors. May they bring you the happiness that your writing has brought me, reading your many stories here. I look forward to the next installment here even though I also know it will be one step closer to the end of you posting here. Thanks for being the person you are and for keeping our reading passion alive with your great stories.

    Knuckleheads

I swear this story just keeps getting better. The trial has been the elephant in the room for a long time so it nice to see it in the past now. It great to see that all of them were enjoying the star gazing. I am sure that Dizzy was mesmerized. I have spent time in both San Francisco and Texas and for sure the city lights as well as staff in the air in obscure the clear view of the night sky in San Francisco though if you head north a bit, out of town you can get away from the lights and air particle pollution and get some pretty nice sky views as well. I am betting Dizzy has never gotten far out of town and for sure never seen the night sky as big and clear as it is in Texas. This chapter was like everyone finally relaxed and gave out a big breath. I am really glad that Adam let Dizzy stay, the boys needed that. For sure Artie offering himself to Dizzy will have a major impact on their relationship. I was really glad to read what Dizzy said in the morning. It meant to me that he saw their relationship in the right way not just a sexual victory. The future holds great promise. Maybe Dizzy will begin taking school more serious now that he knows he is in a serious relationship. Hopefully Dizzy was just acting out, trying to get someone’s attention. Well he has Artie’s attention and so maybe he can settle down and be more serious. Don’t want him to change too much, but more attention to detail wouldn’t hurt. Another great chapter.

    Second Chance

Absolutely fantastic. The perfect blend of drama and excitement. You built the unknown and fear to the perfect climax. I can’t say I really knew how the trial would go, I was even kind of hoping we would see Artie and Dizzy stealing across the country to get back up SF. I liked how you wrote it very much. I did feel a little sad for Artie how his Texas friends seemed to reject him. In the end it will help him make a clean break, not wondering how his friends back in Texas are doing. For sure the best thing is Sadie’s acceptance. Sure it will take a while longer for her to fully adjust. A visit to SF will be good for her. Now we have a new twist to work though Ezra Green. It will be interesting to see where that goes. I thought it was kind of interesting how much Artie hates it when Adam keeps secrets from him and here he is keeping something from Adam. Hope it doesn’t come back to bite him in the butt. I wonder too, how Adam is going to act towards Dizzy and Artie. Now that he doesn’t have to worry about what he permittes and how it would look in court with a custody battle. Will he loosen up and give the boys some space. Time will tell and I look forward to reading it.

    Comforted

I am finding all the discussion interesting. There is no doubt there are a lot of factors to be considered. In all honesty I was wondering why the grand parents were even challenging the will at all. It seemed very clear cut and Adam is an adult, with his own business. I know so little about custody laws or court, it will be interesting to see how it all turns out. I am sure there are fellow readers who know more so it will be interesting to read the feedback after the chapter is posted. Hope the author has some advisors who can help him wade the legal mine field and get it right in the story. Then again it is a Texas court and there have been some interesting decisions made recently in Texas courts.
  18. OzLoGo

    Sealed

The grand parent encounter has been looming in the story for some time now so it is good to see that the issue will be brought to a head. It is also good to finally see what the real issue was with Adam back in the first couple chapters when he was in his home town at his sisters funeral. The towns people’s reactions to Adam make perfect sense now. I have no problem how a small Texas town would react to their church being vandalized. It will be interesting what facts will come up in the hearing. How about the fact that the parents/grandparents booted their own children from their home, one at age 16. Some how I can imagine Texas court taking the side of the older couple even though their actions to Adam were much worse than what Adam did to the building. Adam could have died from being kicked out. Glad to see how Artie’s association with community people is getting bigger and bigger. I wonder now, how many other secrets Adam has? Great Chapter.
  19. Another very well written short story. What I particularly like is your writing is not predictable. As I read along my curiosity grows and I wonder how is this going to turn out. There is no guarantee that the little boy is going to live, we could be reading his last words, see his last thoughts. This ending was very acceptable. I am sorry that Joe likely did not make it, but I have hope that Max will now have a new beginning.

    Chapter 14

Another excellent chapter. You covered so many points it would be difficult to focus on one. The one thing for sure that stands out is here are to guys who are discovering each other in a lost form. Letter writing is amost a lost art. With this day of texting and tweeting we make short little comments that never really get to the meat of a subject. In a letter you can introduce an idea and use all the words you want to develop it. As a teacher I did have the opportunity to set up a pen pal situation with students in Victoria, Canada. My students were in a small town in Washington State. I had met the Victoria teacher at a camp over by Seattle. Some of the kids were reluctant at first but after a few exchanges it turned into something like the last two letters here in your story. They got very long. It did happen with my students, we took a trip to Victoria and my kids got to meet and stay with their pen pals. Later in the year the Victoria kids came to visit my kids. I sense that the two boys in this story will become good friends, they have all the makings of a friendship in there open and candid comments. Very enjoyable story to read.

    Chapter 3. Part 1

Great chapter. Very sorry the weekend didn’t go the way it could have. Josh really should have been checked out. It will be interesting to see if anything does develops between Josh and Gavin. One can only hope.
  22. OzLoGo

    Reunion

The family keeps growing. It is great that there was need for someone at the doughnut shop and that Dizzy’s mom was available. Time will tell how that works out. Mason is amazing. I think one of the great moments in the story was when Mason was questioned about his positive actions towards Artie and Dizzy and he mentioned that he missed out on love at their age. I am sure there are a lot of people who can relate to that. Some people become vindictive and figure if I didn’t get it, then others can’t have it either. In Mason’s case he chooses to foster and protect something he looks back at and wishes he had. Very positive person. Great addition to the family. At this point, almost wonder where things will go. Looking forward to the next chapter, knowing it will be great.
  23. A thought about proper grammar and writing. If a person is going to turn in a paper you have been working on for a college English class, then of course you need to make sure all the nouns and pronouns as well as the verb tenses agree. When you are writing a story and there is dialog involved patois is acceptable. It can be used on purpose to show the intellect of the speaker.
  24. OzLoGo

    Chapter 13

Your last line reminds me of something Bob Dylan once said. When asked about his music he said he does not write for others, he writes for him self. Yes your writing has re-read value. You are true to yourself in what you put down on paper and therefor it has value because it is you. I always enjoy seeing where your thought process goes. There are authors I have read and I don't care if I ever see anything from them again. Your writing I can't wait to see what your next work is. I don't think I am all that different than the majority of people who enjoy reading so I am sure that the more people who come across your writing the more faithful followers you will gain. I am afraid sometimes that the title for this forum Gay Authors scares many people away. I have read many very moving stories on here that really have little or nothing to do with "gay" (what ever that is) Keep up the great work.

    Chapter 13

Another great entry on continuing letters back and forth. I like how Max “accidentally” wrote his name. It would seem that he could have deleted it, since he is on a texting program. I get the feeling he wants to be discovered. I know if it were me, I would be doing everything I could now to try and narrow down who Max is. About half way through this story it struck me how enjoyable a writing project could be. Truth is it is you, one person who is writing both sides of the story. You get to free verse like crazy. Your thoughts get to flow freely into both characters. I wonder if this is like talking to yourself, which I have read is very therapeutic. Great story, I have really been enjoying it. One thing I am going to do right now is go read the previous entry while this one is fresh in my mind.
