    Date Night

Great Chapter, helped satisfy the hunger for you chapters. Great to see Mason and his personality. He sure seems like a good positive person. It was good to see dizzy get put in line and he took it pretty well. I keep thinking something is going to pop up about the grand parent’s legal battle. It would be fine with me if it never really happened. Can’t wait for the next chapter.
  2. DK, I spoke in haste, I am never disappointed in your stories, the disappointment is (there will not be more of the particular writing) I gave you the wrong impression. I look forward to every posting I see from you. I have not been following you from the very beginning of your writing so I can not agree or disagree with your comment that you have matured in your writing. What I can say, is I like your style and the thoughts you express in your writing. I had commented earlier about your ability develop emotion. That is very good. Your writing is not flat and boring, it is always thought provoking. I will keep reading what you write and look forward to a longer story I can immerse myself in.
  3. This thought came to mind this morning when I was reading your comment. When I encountered this short story, because it was given a chapter 1, it left me to believe that there might be a chapter 2 and so on. I enjoy your writing and can perfectly accept that a work will be one entry. One entry is much better than none. I have a couple thoughts. One; a heading called, one time stories and all the one time stories go under it. They can all still have titles, just different stories that will not continue. Two; some way to code an entry as being a one time offering. Now the reason for my thinking. I like your writing so much, I hate getting the feeling of disappointment when I learn that what looks like the beginning of a great story is not going to be a continuoued story. :-)
  4. Well written. I like the thought, love will prevail. The dad was a perfect example of hate and the Cravan family the example of love. Every child should be protected from hate. Very glad the dad was removed from the court. No need to have that ugliness spread around any more.
  5. Excellent beginning. You are a master of emotion and this story is full of it. I hope their discussion turns into reality and Eion can receive help from caring adults. There is always a fine balance between helping someone and making a problem even bigger. A dad who abuses his son or daughter, needs to be dealt with. The way you have described Eions physical beauty, it is so sad that he can not have the inner beauty as well. I hope you plan on continuing this story to a completion.

    The Letters

I read your comment about Adam being the younger brother. I have been looking back over the story to try and find where the statement is made where is is younger. If you can reference it, that would be very helpful. I have been looking and can't find it. At some point the story will be posted on Amazon and it would be nice if there were no errors.

    Losing It

This was a very informative chapter. Several pieces of the story puzzle got put in place. It will help in future chapters to know what’s going on. I do feel bad for the boys that NaN is isolating herself. Loss of a partner can have all kinds of effects on a person.

    Chapter 11

Where I live in the US, we have 4 full seasons. Winters always have snow, the question is, how much. I enjoy skiing both alpine and down hill. I live about an hour away from one of the best resorts in Washington state. I have skied there for years as well as travel to other resorts all over. I absolutely love winter, in fact I once thought I have participate in two complimentary activities. I can play golf until there is too much snow, and I can ski until the course is open to play golf. Authors and visits. The opportunity to meet Anthony kind of fell into place. Both of us were figuring, if it works, it will work. He had prewarned me, meet the author doesn’t always work out. I am glad to say our meeting went well. I spent most of the time asking questions. I already knew that many of his books had elements of a biographical background. One of his recent books has many elements of how he met his present BF. His partner of 30 years passed away a couple years ago. Life is made up of people. Your stories are very enjoyable for me. I enjoy how you think. I like the way you write your thoughts down. I find you an interesting person. I should say, one of the great outcomes of my conversation with Anthony was learning about Amazon’s self publishing services. Several years ago I wrote a book I have thought about publishing but just never did it. I talked to some publishing houses but was discouraged with them. Well I am looking forward to getting home and dusting off the file and do some work on the story so I can publish it. I already contacted someone about doing a cover for me. I will see how much illustration I want and they will do it too. All the reading I have been doing and discussions like the kind I have had with you have encouraged me. Guess I should say thank you. I look forward to your next writing.

    Chapter 11

Sorry for the slow response, London is taking up a lot of time. I have been enjoying the dialogue in this unfolding story. The comments about “Love, Simon” were right on, only someone who has seen that movie could relate to it. There was a second factor that came out of the comments about the warm feeling. I don’t recall much conversation about “gay” and the way Watson seemed very accepting was a positive thing. Another person has written a comment to you and asked if they will meet. That brought to mind two people I have communicated with. One was years ago and our communication was letters, back before chat services. We write for over 2 years and never did meet. I have continued to follow him and know he has done well with his life. The other person is someone I have chatted with for 10 years now. We have not meat either. Friendships can be built in a very strong way with out ever meeting. Having the emotional support of another person can be a very strong and beautiful thing. I have seen these two boys bend and give and mold into someone the other one can better accept. That kind of is what a friendship is. You find common ground and you let go of things you find are not all that important. Some times we take a position just because the position we have is how we learned about something. The more we get to know, our position or standing can change. Friendships help us learn new things. I enjoy your writing. You always cause me to think. It would be interesting if the opportunity ever arose to sit down and talk. I had the opportunity to do just that with an author here in London last Monday. He has written 40 books, I have read them all. We met at a pub, had a couple pints and then went out to dinner. It was three hours of enjoyment. One of his books was the story of how he met his boy friend. On Tuesday he was flying to the Canary Islands to spend a few weeks with him. His BF had been here in England earlier this summer. Life should be made up of friendships. I am very happy reading this and other stories you have written about growing friendships. Thank you for writing.

    Chapter 1

I am so glad you ended it with the words “Only this time someone listened”. It made my heart warm. As a teacher I always knew there were two sides to every story. I liked to ask both for there side of the story in a private conversation, then when I had heard both sides I would bring them together, with another teacher or a responsible student, and ask them again to tell me what happened. Time and time again, it was the student who was most forgiving who was usually the one who had been the receiver of the negative. I did like the comment by Thomas where he said he was going to apologize. That’s like a first. Usually that type want the world to bow before them. Great short, well thought out and presented. Thank you for writing.

    Chapter 7

I am really enjoying this story. Not sure though why I got this update.

    Chapter 7

First off, I am so sorry for being so late in reading your story. I had 30 books to read and so I was spending a great deal of time reading them. Today was the 30th and it just so happens this morning I finished book 30, soooo I am back. I will be interesting to see what Sherlock has against jocks. That question has been hanging around for a while now. The 30th book I just read was a boys diary. I immediately thought of this story when reading it. I like this style now and I am glad I have been reading it. It really helped being able to read the diary. I look forward to you next creative entry.
  13. Extremely powerful and I hated it. You got down on paper all the feelings that go along with being bullied. As a teacher there is nothing that makes me more angry than to see or hear another student try to lord over another student. I know I can get myself in serious trouble if I get physical with a bully but I have to summon up all my strength to not do something physical. I used the word hate, I am not a hateful person but bullying can drag out of the depths of my inner being hate. I am so glad you had the little brother get home in time. In reading there is a physical limit as to just how fast a person can read, and my eyes and brain were there I had to know he turned out alive. If he hadn’t I might be saying vulgar things right now. Not really sure why you wrote the piece. The unfortunate fact is, the exact kind of stuff you have in this story happens. Why are we humans so fucked up that we treat other human beings in any other way than love? Thanks for bringing Carson home and saving his brother. Now let the love heal.
  14. You really caught the essence of so many early teens. Aware of sexuality but not sure. For some the idea of gay seems exciting but a simple comment by an adult can set them into doubting their own thoughts. I absolutely know that there are teens who know they are gay and go on living a happy and productive life. I think though the majority are like the boys in this story. They are aware of gay, sense that boys are attractive to them but don’t know if that means they are gay or just find it easier to hang out with guys. Time will tell. What I like about your story is that it is real. What you have written here, other readers can relate to.

    The Deep Depth

I read your comment about the New York story and I got to thinking. You do not plan on continuing that story, and there are some other projects you wrote one or two chapters in. You have had some other prose like this one, which are very thought provoking. I am looking for something of substance. Something that I can sit down and spend a few hours or even days reading. Is there a place I can find stories by you, that are continuing or completed? A second thought is, I flew over Northern Ireland on Friday and I thought of you. If possible I hope to visit Ireland in the next couple of weeks. I am in Stockholm this week and will fly back to London on Sunday, next. The only absolute planned trip is Paris on the 20th for a few days. I did find this short piece interesting. I am beginning to see, you enjoy thought provoking short pieces. Glad you like writing them, I like reading them.

    Chapter 1

At the beginning I had a lot of questions but as the story moved along, most of the questions were answered. I am glad that happened. By creating questions at the beginning of a story, makes the reader want to read on to see if the questions are answered. Fortunately you did, so the story was enjoyable. The questions that were not answered I am sure will be if you continue telling the story. I just had this thought isn’t it interesting how often New York gets destroyed. Very glad they found some food. Sounded like they hadn’t found any for a while. If you do choose to continue, it has a good base line.

    Storms

So much covered in this chapter. I am so sorry for Dizzy, but very happy that Adam stepped up and gave Dizzy a safe place to be for the night. I am sure there are kids in the same situation as Dizzy who have to sleep somewhere out in the open. I was pleased to see the respect Dizzy showed Adam too and he didn’t sneak into Artie’s room. I had real hurt pangs when I heard Dizzy say his mom did not call out for him or come after him. Reminded me of what Adam must have gone through. I can imagine Adam and Dizzy will relate even more. Glad his mom did come to the house and ask about him, she does care she’s just caught in a difficult situation. With all the stuff going on it is going to take a while to get it all sorted out and in all this, no word about Adam and the server at Twin Peaks. Great Chapter.

    Four Young Lives

It is so sad to think that your short story holds so much truth in it and yet it just simply is not heard by many young people. I think one of the problems is, a passenger of sixteen years is moved from the roll of a passenger into the drivers seat. Driving is a 100 percent activity. You have to give it your full attention. Whether it is alcohol, weed, or even an emotional state, due to a break up, if you can not give driving your full attention then you should not be on the road. Your story is sad but true. Lack of driving experience, an over correction and a car is thrown out of control and only something like a tree or a rock wall can bring it to rest with deviststing results to the unsecured occupants inside. Newton’s laws of motion do not care how old you are. The seat belts do help more often than not. Sorry to hear Ireland is having a rash of road deaths. 😢

    Pride

I look forward to each chapter you write and this one was really worth the wait. I really liked the mention of Messiah, I read the earlier comment about them playing at a lesser venu. In years past the Fillmore was “the” place to perform. Thinking of Ryder’s desire to keep rock and roll going, playing at the Fillmore would be perfect. There had been an earlier mention of trouble between Dizzy and his mom’s bf. I hope she plans on dropping him after getting physical with her son. There is no room for a person who strikes out against family. Dizzy had every right to speak up for his mom, now his mom needs to stand up for dizzy.

    Chapter 9

There is absolutely no doubt they have become friends. It just so happens I have a friend I have texted, or chatted with for over 10 years. We have never met. This writing can’t help but make me think of that friendship. Ours is a little different because most of the time we chat in real time. I have another friend who is much like this story, we write and it may be a day or two before we get back to each other. The difference there is, he and I are going to meet in about an hour. I am in the town where he lives for a few days. The last time we saw each other was last November. Life is great when you have someone you can share ideas with. I am enjoying this writing.

    Surprises

Well worth the wait. Excellent chapter, I like how you picked up from the bd party and moved to the ball game. Dizzy came through with the drawing. He has a tender sensitive side. I think Artie is just the person to bring that out. The ball game was great. Artie got to shine with his heads up play with the passed ball. I am not surprised Adam had a difficult time expressing himself positively to Artie after the game. His example was his Ahole dad, Artie’s grandparents joe breath vile comments. It will be great for Adam to have someone to shower praise on as he grows and matures. Great chapter, can’t wait for the next.
  22. Glad you wrote the part at the end. I was going to comment on peer pressure. There is a bit of a flip side to doing negative things because of peer pressure and that is not being true to yourself. By not doing something that you really want to do, is another form of peer pressure. In your story the example is not trying to strike up a conversation with Luke because you are afraid of getting labeled gay. If you want to talk to someone, you should feel free to do that. If you want to say no to a drink then you should be free to say no. Of course there are social norms that need to be met. Just because you want to walk around naked does not mean you should be able to do that. That is an offense to all of society not just a peer group. There is a balance to everything. I was glad to see the boy put his beer down. He had the strength to say no to the joint. He said no to the girl pulling his pants down, which may have been the most difficult no he said, because his dick was yelling yes very hard. Another good was grabbing Sarah and giving the boy his phone number. In the end several negatives turned into a positive. Well written.

    Chapter 8

The thing I notice is two people becoming friends. There is always posturing. You throw out little tid bits of information and opinion and see how it comes back. It is like throwing a rock out into a still lake. How big is the splash and how large are the ripples. They have been tossing back and forth popularity and jocks. I see them settling in on a middle ground, a place they can both exist. That’s life. You have to be yourself and be true to yourself. The only person you have to live with your whole life is you. Everyone else have the potential to come and go. If you present the real you, not the perceived view, you think others want to see. If someone likes the real you then they don’t have to be taken back when the perceived you erodes away and the real you comes out. I feel the two boys are coming around to being who they really are. The number of “friends” we have is not important. The quality of our friends is the important factor. That quality is created in truth and honesty.

    God Help Us

This story has been an emotional roller coaster. There has been plenty said about the first part of this chapter, my focus is entirely on the last scene, Brody and Levi. What a perfect ending. We all need that special someone and I am so happy that Levi can be that person for Brody. What a beautiful picture of friendship. I would dare say it is love.

    Little Hours

D.K. You made me cry. I don’t think I have read anything more beautiful about those last days of life. I have had too many people I know go through exactly what you wrote. Time is ticking at this very moment on the life of a good friend. She was experiencing pain. When the discover what was causing the pain, it was too late to do anything other than try and relieve the pain. Just like your line”the killer is eating away”. That is exactly what is happening. You are amazing. You insights are amazing. I hope it is ok to share this, it is so well written.
