Wow I didn’t expect this. I don’t think Corey’s mom is remotely selfish by working st the store as I bet she quit her previous jobs because her husband made her or she may have had health reasons yet overall I don’t see her switching careers to run a small store out of some selfish desire. I know Jenny means well but she is a bit of a bitch. Corey’s dad keeps ticking me off more and more with his whole you’re not a man comments and he’s going to lose it if he finds out Corey is gay. Honeslty I’d be worried about Corey’s health if his dad finds out his secret as he might even turn violent as he doesn’t seem very sympathetic.

Corey needs someone to love and be loved by even if it’s a dog yet his dad will flip. At the end Jenny almost sounded blackmailing by just stating he was going to be her date right after revealing she knew he was gay but I think she’s just trying to get him out of the house for a little fun plus she probably knows it doesn’t hurt for him to go with her as it makes him look straight. I’m curious about Clinton possibly being gay but I’m betting he’ll take forever to admit it if he is because he’ll be terrified of CJ finding out. I kinda hope Greg returns at some point realizing what he’s missing out on but in the end that would just cause more drama so while I don’t think his marrying a girl he doesn’t love is right he has to make his own choices.

I’m guessing they do more than just rock climb on these trips otherwise Clinton wouldn’t be so upset at the idea of missing one. Clinton seems to want to befriend Corey but wants access to the fringe benefits he gets as CJ’s friend as well so as long as CJ is around he’ll treat Corey like dirt. CJ’s stupid joke about the microwave doesn’t make any sense as it’s not like Corey is too poor to own a microwave or wouldn’t know how to work one. I think Clinton showed potential but his atttiude when CJ showed up indicates to me that he’s not someone Corey should befriend unless he stands up to CJ as he made claims he wouldn’t let CJ bother him again if I recall correctly yet let him verbally abuse him without saying a word.

I wasn’t expecting Greg to be engaged so that’s a twist. Seems kind of shitty that he was showing signs of being interested in Corey from day one yet was engaged this whole time. Of course Corey can’t get up the courage to convince his ex he just wants to be friends though part of it is obviously because his dad is insisting he date her. Then you’ve got dad who’s acting like the river incident is the first one and that the whole reason that they’re now bothering Corey is because he didn’t fight back yet clearly they’ve been hassling Corey for a long time part of it being his dad’s fault as they rag him on how his dad controls his life. Corey’s dad doesn’t really care that he’s hurt only that he looks weak and now can’t play football. Also thinking back to that conversation between Corey and Jenny after the party I don’t see how she can be friends with a jerk like CJ.

Jenny seems a bit like how he described her sister Sara as she doesn’t seem to have the best personality considering the way she was talking about Corey’s mother. I also doubt her former claims about just being friends with CJ and I find her statement about how everyone likes both CJ and Corey yet they don’t get alone with each other ridiculous as CJ’s friends don’t seem to like Corey either nor did anyone even say a word to Corey let alone stand up for him regarding them tossing him into the river. I’m sure things like those parties CJ is able to throw and get away with likely contribute to his popularity more so than his amazing personality 🙄. Corey seemed aware and ashamed he was checking Greg out in a previous chapter so I’m guessing on some subconscious level he realizes he likes men yet his reaction to things like Jenny’s appearance in that bakini for instance makes me think he’s gay rather than bisexual yet he is likely still oblivious to this on a conscious level.

This poor kid has it rough as I mean it sounds like he can’t do anything without his father finding out. First of all even the barber seems to agree with his dad and relays what he says to him, his dad checks on him at work, and his dad is overly focused on him being macho. By the macho comment I mean his dad seems to want him to settle down yet implies he’s not ready while also preferring he date non-ambitious girls like cheerleaders, despite his being underage his dad insists he take a swig of beer, and finally his dad forces him to play football even though he clearly doesn’t want to. I wonder if his desire for his son to be what he considers a man to be is because he secretly suspects his son is gay though I doubt he’s that intelligent. His mom while on one hand seems to be a much better person overall it sounds like she’s been a pushover for years so eh while I like her better she’s far from perfect. I don’t know if the main character is bi, gay yet heavily closeted, or unsure of his sexual orientation though in the end this story seems to be more about him finding independence than anything so labels don’t matter as long as he finds happiness.

It’s not surprising Ryan lied as he just didn’t want to go with them for the intervention as he doesn’t seem to care. He doesn’t want anything to do with anyone right now that involves sympathy or emotional support which I assume is linked to his hidden fears surrounding Toby’s health. The chapter title coming up is ominous and I fear if Toby dies Ryan will hate himself for how he’s acted.

I don’t have ADD but I have never heard of people with it shutting down their emotions the way Ryan seems to. I rationalized his actions with Toby as him trying to shut down his emotions about him and distance himself to limit the pain of seeing his brother sick along with the worry he might die yet now he’s acting the same way towards Mikey who is supposed to be his best friend. It’s as if he has no sympathy for anyone except maybe himself as he comes of self centered.

I think Ryan is distancing himself from Toby because despite his claims to Connor that he’ll be fine in actuality he is worried about him so he is distancing himself from him as if that can lessen the pain. In other words I think his apparent lack of feeling is an act though I can understand it bothering Connor. It also seemed like Ryan was jealous of the attention Connor was giving Toby considering he threw a fit about him wanting to stay instead of going to Las Vegas whining he was ruining their trip and I think at this juncture that it is ridiculous for him to be jealous as Ryan has shown he loves him plus Toby is with Cody now.

I find it a little strange and possibly revealing that Connor had such an intense nightmare in which Toby is the victim rather than Ryan. I would have expected him to dream of Ryan being raped and threatened if he was going to have that type of nightmare rather than Toby, though he may simply feel more protective of Toby due to Toby only recently having had that crush on him which he couldn’t reciprocate.

Poor Connor has one sick mother. First she tells him she initially planned for him to have sex with her and now she’s used him as a prostitute in exchange for drugs. I can’t blame Connor for how evil his mother is and while I know abused people often deny their situation I wish he had sought help previously as he doesn’t deserve this. Foster care or whatever alternative he had open to him may sound horrible to him yet it’s better than being beaten let alone raped. This is going to break him emotionally as he already had psychological issues. At least he’ll have the love and support of his friends & Ryan to help him overcome the trauma.

Ryan is sort of right and and sort of wrong. I mean they didn’t do anything but kiss for the longest time so I don’t think they’ve been moving too fast. I mean they’re only currently on oral sex and haven’t gone all the way yet so I think they’re moving at a good pace. On the other hand they are both young and Connor can’t seem to resist kissing Cody while admitting to himself he’d probably go further if Cody tried to get him to so taking a break could be for the best. Of course if Connor ends up going all the way with Cody or even Toby Ryan is going to be upset despite this being his idea. Then you’ve got Ryan who on the off chance may also find someone else to explore his newfound sexuality with which will leave Connor broken hearted. I’m also worried about any regrets if either one goes all the way with someone else as they would lose the chance of having their first time be with each other if their relationship is destined to be in the end.

I’m glad Ryan isn’t the jealous type but Connor gives into his hormones too easily. I mean he described that kiss as being very passionate and it could have potentially gone further yet he just said yes when asked saying Ryan wouldn’t mind yet as far as he knew Ryan would mind. I don’t know if I could be as calm about it as Ryan but Ryan’s emotions on this subject of being boyfriends is not exactly typical. I honestly wonder if Ryan would be ok with more than just kissing between Connor & Cody considering his comment about how as long as he didn’t leave him for Cody he was fine with the kiss and how he seemed surprised initially when Connor said he didn’t want to be physical with Toby just with Ryan only. I doubt he’d be ok with an open relationship but I’m just not sure as he seemed so calm even though a kiss is not nearly the same as sex.

Hmmm sounds kinda complicated with both brothers seemingly interested in Connor. Toby though is way more forward than Ryan so Ryan needs to step up his game if he wants Connor to realize how much he truly likes him. Valium is used commonly but knowing his mother it might not be Valium, he could have a negative reaction to it, or he could get hooked on it. I guess I’m just worried that twist of him taking the Valium will have some form of negative consequence in the future but hopefully not.

The tragedies never end for these guys. To think they’re all just getting their lives together again and becoming happy only to have things get screwed up worse than they ever have been. Jake and Zune most of all to say that their future pain will be so horrible while potentially worse than anything they’ve experienced is unimaginable. I’m sorry about Steph as well of course as things seemed to be going well with Kevin. Life is never easy but sometimes good things come out of the worst tragedies so hopefully they will be happy in the end.

I think Kevin should open himself up to the idea of dating Stephen but I don’t want either of them to get hurt. Still if they don’t take a chance they may be missing out on being happy.

I kinda got a vibe when Michelle was introduced that something might happen between her and Carol. They just had too much spontaneous chemistry even if it did manifest in the form of anger.

I’m not remotely surprised about this development between Kevin and Stephen. I hope neither gets hurt but I actually think they’d be good together if Kevin was able to move on from Zune. Still, if Stephen is able to keep emotions out of it I see no issue with them helping each other relieve some stress as they are both lonely.

Hmmm I see maybe Kevin & Stephen getting together in the future and this chapter while heartbreaking wasn’t completely unexpected. The psychic predicted tragedy in Jake’s future and that he would find his true love after that if I recall correctly so I couldnt imagine anything more tragic than the death of Ron amplified by the fact they were getting back together.

That’s a twist. I wonder if Stephen is the fourth friend the psychic mentioned and how complicated this will get relationship wise. Edward may have a crush on his old friend, Kevin may have actually developed some real feelings during his acting all those years ago, and Zune will likely fall for him as he’s already interested in him plus he became sort of emotionally connected to him after hearing about what he went through.

I bet Daryl is going to ask for a plea deal in exchange for not filing a complaint against them. If he gets off lightly for what he did....ugh. I won’t be able to stand that. I’m glad to see my suspicions about Ron’s maybe illegal involvement with Daryl seem to be unjustified as while I didn’t think he remotely had anything to do with Zune I didn’t think they business was totally legit. If he was into illegal dealings with him I’d have expected a different reaction in this chapter though I do think Daryl got him hooked on gambling despite claims to Jake that he tried to dissuade him from it at his request. I hope Ron’s love for Jake will mean he’s come to realize his cheating was wrong as his cold attitude and hypocritical attitude when he thought Jake was going to have sex with someone else rubbed me the wrong way. Nearly losing Jake forever will hopefully give his heart the jolt it needs to appreciate him. I feel a little sorry for Kevin as I get why he trusted Daryl yet at the same time can never understand how he could side with him over Zune so he doesn’t deserve a lot of sympathy.

I don’t know how they tracked them down except maybe Daryl. I mean I don’t know how many people knew where they were going but if Daryl found out he could have told them. I think it’s unrealistic that even if Zune retracts his statement that Jake won’t be raped in the meantime and as Jake could make a similar statement it wouldn’t be wise for them to release him. Then there’s the fact that while the cops have given up retracting his statement will help insure they get away with what they did and that their operation doesn’t get stopped. I’m not normally one for violence but I’d beat the confession out of Daryl while possibly also looking into Ron because if they’re doing business together it’s unlikely that he doesn’t know something suspicious about Daryl.

I don’t know who I am angrier at Daryl or Kevin & Matt. Ron is a piece of work himself and shouldn’t have the loyalty & love Kevin once had for Zune nor is he Zune’s father so his siding with Daryl doesn’t bother me as much not that I’m happy about it. The fact that even the police don’t believe Zune anymore is terrible I mean they think he’s making it all up because they are too incompetent to find proof. I have my doubts about this successful business Daryl helped start up and I’m wondering about the “loan” considering he had to sell Zune to pay off his gambling debt so I think the cops should have dug into that as there has to be something suspicious.

I was afraid Kevin wouldn’t believe Zune especially after he supposedly confided in Daryl for months, now that Daryl is the only family he has left, and the fact that Daryl is paying for his education. I didn’t expect Zune’s own father who is a cop not to believe him but I didn’t expect him to be so close with Daryl either. I assume Daryl got close to him to find out if he had any clues about Zune’s location and to disrupt any efforts to find Zune that showed any signs of success. Seems like the relationship between Zune & Kevin is doomed now considering Kevin called him a liar after he just escaped from being raped for months and took the side of his brother over the guy he supposedly loves. I wonder what illegal business Ron & Daryl are running as it’s no coincidence that Ron got hooked on gambling after going into business with Daryl. Daryl corrupted him and I wonder if he even had an idea what actually happened to Zune as Daryl may have let something slip or revealed the existence of the brothel to him even if he never mentioned Zune’s connection to it. Ron definitely could probably provide evidence Daryl isn’t exactly pure as the driven snow but he had no insensitive to do so. I hope Jake beats any information he may have out of him.

I expected Zune to get raped which is a horrible enough fate but I wasn’t expected him to be sold as a sex slave/prostitute to a brothel. The only way I can see him being rescued is if that piece of crap Daryl tells someone what he did out of guilt and if he does it likely won’t be soon enough. Poor Zune is going to be a broken boy who will never be the same again.
