This Do Over is tricky to workout the possible plan because assuming it wasn’t a lie Sean indicated the success at the scientist bypassing the jamming device was due to sending Brian back as in it potentially left a gap in the jamming that was exploited. What I mean is assuming that is true even if they say managed to get the scientist assassinated before he built the machine with the way the machine works it should result in Shevardnadze still being sent back. They had the government involved pretty fast and still couldn’t stop him so I dunno how this plan will unfold. Hopefully Sean figured out how to modify the jammer to still allow them to send someone(or more than one) back while this time successfully blocking any other time travelers from coming back.
-
👏🏻 It wasn’t until the end but things definitely started looking up for Ed. I’m sure his journey will eventually have more bumps in the road yet hopefully those will be only minor inconveniences.
-
Well, according to Sean the scientist noticed some similarities between calculations Sean had done while working for him and the way the time machine was failing to function. In essence Sean’s calculations without his conscious knowledge contained hints as to how the time machine was being jammed causing the scientist to become aware of the device. A bit loopy yet makes some sense I suppose. 🤷🏻♂️ As far as Brian questioning which timeline Sean was from I think there are multiple reasons for that. As for one while Brian cares for this Sean a lot I suspect on some level if Sean was from a different timeline he might have hoped it was from his as he knew that Sean for a lifetime. On a more plausible and less personal reason we know the time machine can create a bubble keeping someone unchanged from the alterations to the timeline for a duration so since as far as Brian knew it was seemingly impossible for this timelines Sean to have access to a working time machine given the jamming device he probably thought another timeline Sean somehow managing to slip past the jamming device, if not the Sean from his timeline, was far more likely. It also is likely that Brian was almost hoping it was a different Sean because he didn’t want to take into account this timeline going to hell and requiring someone to do another Do Over. As far as the Secret Service goes Sean indicated Mr. Rush had contacts in the government so I guess they’re good enough to reach the president himself. 🤷🏻♂️ They’re just lucky he has such good contacts or unlucky as the case may be as past experiences show the government isn’t always as helpful in these situations as the guys need them to be.
-
Ugh, of course Sean being the designer of the jammer in the previous timeline would accidentally leave a clue for the Dr Who knockoff to find. 🤦🏻♂️ I was wondering how things would go pear shaped but this wasn’t on my radar. Here we go again.

When do we get to try Snowy’s food? Glad to see Thomas is getting a much needed vacation and the job opportunity sounds like a good one. Interesting to see Thomas run into Daniel and his interest in that um exclusive club shows he’s really in a vacation mindset now. Not sure if anything will remotely occur between them but if Daniel ain’t careful Rani may want to put his bird back in its cage. 😉

A round of applause 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 for Bev, Pete, and Mary Lou. I mean Pete still comes off as homophobic, which he is, but at least he still wants Davey in his life as well as wants what’s best for him unlike his…parents. The fact Sandy is described as being motivated at least in part to apologize to Davey because she wanted her business partners back is sadly very believable. 🤦🏻♂️ You know, not to criticize people for their emotions as they aren’t logical things yet while if I were Sandy I’d never remarry David Sr I sorta understand her forgiving him because they were married for years and she still cares about him yet I can’t comprehend how any level of therapy would have Jenny wanting him in the same house as her. I mean “maybe” I could understand her forgiving him yet if I were her I would never be comfortable with him living in the same house with me as if nothing happened. Nice to see the future looking bright, so far, with the whole gang working together and the worst thing being the heat, though I feel Davey’s pain. 😂 As for Todd & Trevor it’s sweet that they’ve found each other as while it may make life more complicated for Trevor this story has a history of showing us such trials are worth overcoming.

………..All I can say is damn. 🤦🏻♂️
-
I suppose the phrase better late than never comes to mind but…dang. 🤦🏻♂️ It took months and an anger filled tackle to Brian to knock some sense into Davey’s fool head. I can’t say I’ve ever liked Davey’s mom yet this has put her on a whole new level. I suppose I’m used to old men having foolish ideas as I while I hate the way Pete spoke to Davey I’m not as angry about it as I am about Sandy. Doesn’t help that in pretty much every timeline Sandy has always been somewhat self centered and entitled unlike Papa who while maybe hardheaded has come off as fairly likable in the last timeline.
-
Ugh, the way Davey dealt with the situation with his mom made me want to applaud him and then I got whiplash with how badly I wanted to slap him. Yes, on some level I understand why Davey is motivated to go down this disastrous path but that doesn’t change how terrible an idea it is. Plus it feels like Davey is taking things a little too far with this…act. 🤦🏻♂️ Considering how promiscuous this Julie seems to be and how willing Davey is to go along with things to appear straight I could see in this timeline him becoming an expected dad if he’s not too careful.

The Big Red Sofa - again
NimirRaj commented on Wombat Bill's story chapter in The Big Red Sofa - again
I’m guessing Dr. Winston’s final note of Died in a single car crash????’ likely is because Thomas didn’t give all the context, such as the kangaroos, to the doctor causing him to wonder how such a wreck possibly occurred yet it has caused me to think of something else. Is it remotely plausible that this could be a hint that Jared somehow faked his death? I mean this sounds preposterous but I can’t recall there being any hint as to potentially clarifying details such as if the funeral was an open casket. Considering the type of wreck he was in and the possible shape his body was in I could see it being a closed casket. Seems very out there but the more I think about it the more I realize I wouldn’t be surprised if such a thing occurred. I’m probably reading too much into it as Desmond is probably just some cranky guy who didn’t want Thomas intruding on his fairly new life with Virginia yet I can’t help combining his latest irritation with Thomas with what sounded a bit like homophobia from the last chapter. I feel Thomas is making the best choice by moving though his plans to immediately sell the place as soon as he buys it may anger Jared’s parents. Still, if they choose to sell it to him he obviously has a right to do with it how he pleases and they probably wouldn’t be bothered as much if he did sell it to Andy & Dean considering they were friends of Jared. I can’t imagine the reference to France meaning anything except a trip hopefully one Thomas is taking as he needs to form some new memories. Still, it could always simply be referencing Craig cooking up some French food as I would automatically assumed the franchises is related to the previously mentioned idea of franchising CWB. -
I think I must be a little straighter than I ever thought as I think I’ve fallen in love with Bev. 😂 As for the rest of this chapter to summarize my feelings I think it’s best to quote Brian as the line “Oh shit.” sums it up quite well. Ugh, I can’t even imagine Sandy’s reaction to her own son being gay considering all she’s just spouted out. 🤦🏻♂️

The line of how Trent didn’t think once about Kayden is sending off alarm bells. I find myself wondering if Maggie made some sort of plan with Seth to separate Kayden & Trent, though that logically doesn’t make a lot of sense. I mean I could see both of them wanting Kayden out of the picture but then that would sorta make Maggie & Seth rivals. 🤷🏻♂️ It could be Maggie somehow met Kayden’s dad and he’s the one she’s working with as there’s definitely something more going on.

Donnie is a real piece of work but so are his kids. Well, not Daniel as he isn’t bad for suggesting Robbie take the easy way out by pretending to be straight as while I don’t agree it’s somewhat logical but Nicola has a cracked cauldron. I mean I honestly am beginning to wonder if she has a mental problem. What feels like an eternity ago she was saying she had Robbie’s back, she seemed to care for him, for a sec it looked like they were getting close, etc. and ever since she remotely thought something was going on between Robbie & Stephanie she became a real… witch. Even now she’s repeatedly saying Stephanie was drunk and/or stoned when she had sex with Robbie and she’s not saying it in a somewhat joking way rather she’s saying it in what sounds like a serious way. I mean choose a lane sweetheart because you’re swerving all over the road. At least Don is transparent and clear with his hatred of Robbie while Nicola is all over the map with her emotions. I don’t think it can all be blamed on hormones so I don’t know what her problem is. 🤷🏻♂️ This situation is a mess and it’s easy to put your own emotions into it as I wouldn’t want to give up my parental rights yet Robbie & Stephanie are not in a good position to be parents especially in Robbie’s case. Adoption does seem like the best solution to the situation but you never know how Stephanie or her family will feel about that plus Don knowing the family means he might even try to persuade them to keep the baby in the hopes of pressuring Robbie into fatherhood. I wouldn’t put anything past him.

Glad to see Davey has come around on the lottery as 😑 his intense reaction while predictable almost grates on the nerves. 🙄 Wow, If I were in Sandy’s position my husband raping our child would have had me filing the divorce papers, if not criminal charges, long ago but I feel this realistically should result in her finally filing for divorce. Grandma…yeah I’m not going to say what she can do with her opinions but you all know. 🤦🏻♂️ I’m all for Sandy helping Beverly especially as they’re old friends but excuse my language yet hell if David Sr’s mom nor he would get any of that money. I mean I might even personally pay some of the bills myself rather then giving them cash so they could potentially spend it however they wanted. Also legal bills? What are these bills because of that was linked to her son raping his daughter…yeah that’s on you granny. 🤷🏻♂️ Yes I’m being a little petty but they made their bed so they can lie in it. Beverly is an exception because it’s not like she chose to get sick and as stated they are old friends so I understand her helping her. I get David Sr isn’t loving working in the fast food industry but I’d definitely not want to help him just because he’s too uppity for the job. Now Davey has a good heart but he on some level may be a bit of a doormat as he may try to talk his mother into helping a bit too much due to how much he cares for his family. It’s nice of him but a step too far.
-
Ok two main things pop out to me in this chapter the main one being Sandy, Monta, and to an extent Jenny royally piss me off at how they disregard Davey’s feelings and finally the lottery win kinda screams bs. I mean it’s a great time travel plot line to win the lottery using future knowledge but I want to recall Brian remarking early in the story that he lacked the sort of useful photographic memory of events Davey typically had during his Do Overs so if I’m recalling that correctly it seems very improbable he would accurately recall the winning numbers. Eh, I hope this means Davey doesn’t have to work yet his mom doesn’t have the best common sense so even this might not get him off the hook in her mind and also she’s not good at handling money. The woman loves to spend spend spend so I hope it was a massive payout. 🙄 It is nice to hear Sean is coming back but I’m very concerned about how messed up he may already be by his family. He’s really going to need his friends for support and at this point only Brian is aware of what he’s going through.

Welcome to This Crazy Family
NimirRaj commented on Wombat Bill's story chapter in Welcome to This Crazy Family
Warning Long Winded: I can’t say I’m happy with how Bernard treated Jonathan and Virginia to an extent as well by his contacting the newspaper seemingly over being replaced as a freaking driver as he didn’t even seem to like the job yet I have to hope especially with him… trying to take Thomas’ advice 😂 that he’s coming to appreciate the Prices as well as is getting over how bitter he is. It doesn’t change what he did yet everyone makes mistakes plus the guys hilarious. Eh, after rereading Desmond’s conversation with Bernard I’ve noted it sadly has a hint of homophobia from both of them. I hope Desmond’s comments were distastefully in jest yet him essentially telling Bernard not to touch him, him saying how he’d be keeping an eye on him, etc doesn’t scream comedy routine to me and then his seeming to agree with Bernard’s somewhat equally distasteful comment about the two of them being the only real men around… 🙄 I mean Bernard isn’t rude in a homophobic way that I’ve seen when talking to anyone gay as he can simply be a little rude period but he’s dealing with people he seems to be somewhat respectful to because of his job meaning in private he may be a lot more vocal while Desmond on the other hand has spoken with Thomas for instance in private without any signs homophobia so maybe this was just a slip of the tongue on his part as he generally seems like a perfectly nice guy. Wouldn’t surprise me if to some extent Bernard’s apparent anger towards Jonathan was somewhat homophobia related especially with his comments about being replaced by a younger, more attractive man though that also sounds like jealousy meaning if he is homophobic it could be internalized homophobia. I just can’t help feeling there’s more to his resentment & anger than his losing his position as Jonathan’s driver. Nice to see Virginia and Jonathan moving on with their lives in such positive directions though oof I feel major pity of Desmond with the driving lessons. Thomas “seems” to be doing much better in this chapter and like @chris191070 I can only see Thomas benefiting from a trip away if only a short one. Justin’s situation is complex as all of his reasoning for not going to the funeral makes logical sense but emotions aren’t logical. In the end he’s going to regret not going, though to be fair on some level I have to wonder if Thomas really wanted Justin there. I mean yes Thomas is Justin’s friend and it would have been good to support him…but does one want to see the guy his boyfriend was having an affair with on the day of his funeral? Ugh this is some soap opera level drama they’ve got to deal with. I applaud Craig for his efforts but I’m afraid trying to keep Justin from wallowing in depression is a nigh impossible goal as admirable as it is. Depression is like the waves crashing upon the beach as unless you build a massive dam, which will almost certainly spring a leak down the road, it’s pretty much impossible to stop. The hint at the next chapter makes me think Justin may get some therapy, which he likely needs, but it could also be referencing the appointment Jared has as I would think that would have definitely piqued Thomas’ curiosity meaning he may be trying to find out more and/or seeking some professional help for himself. I suppose to truly know we’ll have to do the boring thing of waiting for the next chapter and who knows it could be about shrink wrap. 🤷🏻♂️ On a somewhat different note how limber is Justin? The final moments of his conversation with Craig show he’s very skilled at putting his foot in his mouth as it’s easy to see why Craig came to the conclusion he did as it’s only logical based on what Justin is saying. I mean he probably disregarded it pretty quickly yet it’s things like that not to mention the interaction itself between Justin & Ryan that Justin was recalling that made it very difficult to believe him when he essentially implied when talking to Jared that he’d felt what they were doing was wrong for some time. Perhaps Justin has a naturally flirty personality yet some of his interactions with people come off a little sus. I hate to be pessimistic but it’s moments like that which cause me to wonder deep down if things had turned out differently if Justin would be so remorseful at having cheated. I dearly hope he’s learned his lesson, though what a hell of a way to learn it. 🤦🏻♂️ Yes to clarify I can be suspicious AF. 😂 -
Oops. 😳 😂 Well at least that decreases the odds they were eating horse burgers on top of raw ones. 😉
-
Holy… That’s a major cliffhanger of an ending and we can only hope they don’t get hit despite how likely it may seem. Mr. Streeter’s attitude is confusing because if I were trying to sweet talk someone like he clearly was and I also happened to be their cook I’d have offered to redo their meals considering he clearly heard how unhappy they were. I thought he was likely a fool and then after Uncle Ted revealed his history of normal cruelty I know it. 🙄 I don’t blame Sam for throwing up given the food they were served.
-
Thank goodness for Monta stepping in and setting Davey’s mom…straight. Dang, I think that phrase makes me feel uncomfortable. 😂 Brian’s parents were understandably slow to come around to the fact Brian is a time traveler and I was a little sad at his dad implying he thought Brian was bi because of the time travel yet overall that went well. Great to see the guys bonding in Hawaii not to mention Davey’s experience at the gay beach helping him to better understand that there’s nothing wrong with being gay. Sadly as we all know typically the better things are going the worse things are about to be for them. Marcie and her family are all psycho so…yeah yay to returning home to that. 🙄

On one hand I’m glad Jared’s parents were so generous in regards to the half of the house but on the other hand in a sense I wish they weren’t. I know that may sound weird for me to say considering how upset Thomas was at being forced to move out which I understand yet I really think it would help him heal to move out so he’s not constantly bombarded with reminders of Jared. On the surface Thomas’ grieving is normal & healthy yet while it may be normal as well the text he sent to he psychiatrist makes me worried. That just screams stuck in denial and I think he may need some therapy as this loss being combined with the news Jared was having an affair period let alone with his brother not to mention the news Jared is willing to rape someone has made this grieving process way outside the norm. I can’t even imagine the breakdown Thomas would have if he learned Jared had his sperm donor killed. It would help us and Thomas better understand Jared if he learned what he was seeing a psychiatrist for yet while a psychiatrist may not be legally obligated to keep the secrets of the dead I’m still not sure they’d be willing to tell Thomas anything about Jared’s appointments. I’m glad Thomas has people he can rely on as he needs all the support he can get. Justin wasn’t mentioned much yet I can’t imagine how he’s feeling and Craig is a good friend to be there for Thomas.

Thankfully there’s a witness, even if not one willing to speak out, who can confirm Brian isn’t the father of Marcie’s poor baby as you can’t help feeling sorry for them/it and it was a pleasure to see Brian’s inner lawyer & blunt side come out . I understand Davey being upset with Brian because emotions aren’t logical yet what I don’t understand nor appreciate is Brian’s dad commenting that Brian hurt Davey. I mean yes technically the situation hurt Davey but even if Marcie was pregnant with Brian’s child he would have gotten her pregnant months before while he was dating her. I mean it’s not like Brian was cheating on Davey so it seems ridiculous his dad would admonish/scold/guilt him saying “you’ve hurt Davey.”. On one hand there’s no real reason at this time for Brian to tell his family & Davey he’s a time traveler “but” I suppose on the other hand I understand him not wanting to keep it a secret. I mean I still think it’s somewhat stupid to an extent as it adds unnecessary drama to their lives but hey you do you Brian as nobody expected you to be able to keep it a secret. 🙄
-
This was a very satisfying and touching chapter until the end which had me wanting to touch Marcie…well more like slap. Ugh, Brian is very very freaked because he knows in the original timeline that this indeed happened but the more likely situation is she’s either not even pregnant rather it’s a compete lie or it’s Mark’s baby. I mean she hasn’t had sex with Brian in months and clearly had sex with her most recent ex not to mention it wouldn’t shock me if she has hooked up with other guys since then. I mean her cauldron is so cracked I wouldn’t be surprised if she got pregnant on purpose by some rando with the goal being to get Brian back. 🤦🏻♂️ Too bad she can’t be charged with bad acting.

This was a fairly uplifting chapter as overall everything is going well though it is disappointing Ed essentially didn’t feel like he could ask the psych aides for help without potentially being punished. Sam seems like a nice guy and Uncle Ted has been nothing but kind to Ed. We can’t be sure how long Ted was gone yet we know it was over 5 mins and as Ed picked out his books he was polite yet seemed to be in somewhat of a hurry so admittedly it does seem odd he was gone so long. I mean considering the site this story is on I have to wonder if the man was potentially gay just because 🤷🏻♂️ and Uncle Ted may be too prompting either a discussion…or um something else. 😂 Overall the only thing I can really gleam is based on Ed’s description of the man’s skin & hair he might be albino which of course isn’t relevant unless perhaps Ted were to know someone with the same condition prompting him to talk to the man. As far as Uncle Ted possibly being gay I can’t really say there is any reason to think so beyond the fact this story is posted on a site consisting of gay oriented stories as I mean the only remotely gay thing he’s done is shared a bed with Sam which is only logical given the situation. 🤷🏻♂️ It’s a minor thing especially considering there’s a slim chance Ed’s perception of time could have been off at least prior to him checking his watch but considering we’ve only recently been introduced to Ted not to mention everything Ed has gone through even tiny things like this stand out.
-
Overall this chapter shows things are looking up with Spencer running his mouth too much to the point he’s royally screwed himself and Pete/Papa finally allowing himself to show how much he cares for Davey not to mention the major relief Davey must feel now that he’s not working himself to death(Eh, maybe I exaggerate a little but close enough.). The only remotely negative note is there’s no mention of the issue of his address and it doesn’t sound like Davey is at this point supposedly moving in rather he’s just staying with the Breckenridge’s temporarily so as things stand his address still won’t qualify him for that school district. “If” he moved into Breckenridge‘s on a more permanent basis and official capacity he could of course change his address, which is likely a possible future solution that will be offered up. Obviously I get the reluctance his family may feel on that note but I suspect giving all that has happened they’ll reluctantly allow him to at least on paper change his address showing he’s living at Brian’s “if” there’s not another option.

Looks like the speculation about a Thelma & Louise style end for Jared was spot on which only seems appropriate. I feel sorry for those kangaroos and Ryan of course. I can’t imagine the pain Thomas and Justin are in as they’re both suffering in their own ways. I understand Thomas deserves to know the truth yet considering the fact he’s in the midst of grieving I’m not sure how he’ll handle learning what’s been going between the brothers. Be it for good or bad this shows how one person can completely change your life.
