Definitely a fan of audio! I can listen to a book while doing the dreaded minutiae of everyday life. Reading too much seems to give me headaches, but I can listen to a book for days at a time.

Two positives to a negative, isn't that the rule? "X was good, because..." "I wasn't keen on Y, I think it could have been improved by..." "But I liked Z, it..." I dunno, that's what I was always taught. The criticism sandwich. I've had some scathing reviews of things I've published online before but I didn't really care. At the moment I write for me, nobody else. When I sent stuff to my friend she had a lot to say about what I was doing right and wrong, and she was so constructive about it that I happily threw it in the bin and started from scratch, and I like it much more now. I'm sorry they attacked your baby. People need to be aware of the line between helping and hurting someone's feelings. Whether or not they liked it, it's still something the author is attached to and they should respect that. ❤️

Oh I'm a shocker for that. Grammarly and I always have to have a BIG talk together when we go through it. I still tend to leave some of it in because it feels, I dunno, awkward to me in some instances to switch to active, particularly when I want to focus on the thing, not the person #justamateurthings

I did question Danul's motives in finishing the job on king prat from a logical point - Arty is wise to him and Henry's word wouldn't change that, paintings or not - but that was quickly saved by Danul admitting that it's totally personal. Holy Arty, just throw the kid out of the window already! Alternatively, Daniel can kill all of them! I don't mind which way this goes, but I'm really liking it! I had my breath held in the last few paragraphs. He's scary.

I'm definitely behind happy endings for the protagonists, but happily ever afters tend to leave a sour taste in my mouth. When everything works out and the sweet protagonist gets to be happy without really developing or learning something, it just irritates me I like a grittier, harsher ending - if the protagonist is happy, that's great, but I don't want them to have everything they ever dreamed of etc. I want life to kick them in the teeth and have them find a way to be happy regardless. Bleh, me bad articulation. 🤐 I guess I just prefer tenacity over everything turning out well in the end.

I can't write even a short story without having a detailed timeline, a huge character tree with drawn pictures and all important notes neatly stacked in a notepad document. The timeline & notes are so clear and concise, I dunno how it becomes such a hot mess when it's written lol 🤔
