I looked up Mowbray, Tasmania on Google just out of curiosity and founf that there is a link on that site to the Mowbray TURK Club. I think that link should be to the Mowbray TURF club as Mowbray is a horse racing center. but I don't know how to correct the reference.

Chapter 39 - Difficult Decisions and Making Amends
Will Hawkins commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 39 - Difficult Decisions and Making Amends
Be careful about making political comments in this section. I have been cautioned and punished for political comments I have made in past Comments sections. Mis ter Will -
Chapter 15 - Mending Fences
Will Hawkins commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 15 - Mending Fences
There is always a difference between 'straight' and 'bi', it is something that two men who love one another have to work out between them. Let us hope that these two can work that out. Mister Will -
Pat's reaction to nudity leads me to believe that he is borderline gay himself and has repressed those urges all his life. His reaction is a little to extreme to just be to seeing 2 or 3 naked boys.

Chapter 39 - A Christmas To Remember
Will Hawkins commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 39 - A Christmas To Remember
I realize that Dad/Pop has a responsible position with the School System, but I am somewhat overwhelmrd that he has so much 'disposable' income to be buying presents for each boy (and not cheap presents either) on top of an 'all expense' summer trip as well. Mister Will -
Chapter 37 - A Bump In The Road Of Life
Will Hawkins commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 37 - A Bump In The Road Of Life
Violence is of course a last resort, but it is something that that king of bigots understand. Mister Will -
Chapter 12 - Friends - Old And New
Will Hawkins commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 12 - Friends - Old And New
I am enjoying my reading of these chapters, but I find myself waiting for the 'other shoe t o drop'. -
Chapter 8 - Research and Recreation
Will Hawkins commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 8 - Research and Recreation
It is interesting that Danny gave the 'correct' answer to the question in the game of 'Life', rather than the true one. That is a ability he is going to have to use many times in his life, especially as he gets older. MisterWill -
Chapter 2 - The Adjustment Period
Will Hawkins commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 2 - The Adjustment Period
I a reminded of the story, apocryphal, I am sure, when he first goes into a 40 flavors ice cream store – he studies the menu posted on the wall for a long time, then finally says, "Well, I see nothing to object too." MisterWill -
Chapter 1 - How It All Began
Will Hawkins commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 1 - How It All Began
Several comments: I admire an author who will take on a project of this magnitude and I am looking forward to many hours of enjoyable reading. My introduction to GA was several years ago when I happened upon 'Circumnavigation'. It too was a long story with many chapters and from reading that, I became a great fan of this site and the authors who write for it. I even promise NOT to revert to my normal picky–picky as far as grammar is concerned! MisterWill -
It is a good author, perhaps a great author, who can handle depressed characterizations as well as the cream off the top. Your pace and timing is impeccable and shows how good a mind resides between your ears. Good show and keep up your excellent work. Mister Will

This story is a little different from the 'run-of-the-mill' GA story about gay boy kicked out of his family home because of his orientation. Lots of room here for creativity lets see what happens.

DA Ch 53 - Meeting the Family
Will Hawkins commented on quokka's story chapter in DA Ch 53 - Meeting the Family
Certainly all is not well with Uncle's family. -
I am not sure if this will work, but if you want tight spacing between two paragraphs, press 'Shift, Return', but if you want a wide space between paragraphs, press 'Return' (without the extra 'shift' key).

Frilled lizards and echidnas! Well I guess that is a NW Austraila vet practice. It seems a little strange to a yank who is used to seeing a city vet practice involved with dogs, cats and an occasional loud-mouthed parrot, oh and a country practice with horses and cows added, but then this story IS about Austrailia, isn't it, so strange beasts would be more common. So far no koallas, kangaroos, or camels though.

DA Ch 42 - Career Begins
Will Hawkins commented on quokka's story chapter in DA Ch 42 - Career Begins
Three puppies and Mom, an echidna and a lizard – Jax seems to have quite a variety of local fauna for his new clinic! The word 'Hawkei', what is its pronunciation? Hawk–eye or Hawk – ee? -
DA Ch 41 - Final Semester & Holidays
Will Hawkins commented on quokka's story chapter in DA Ch 41 - Final Semester & Holidays
I remember from an earlier story of yours I read, that Rottnest Island was the home of a large number of Quokkas and that they were the happiest animals on earth. You adopted the name Quokka as your 'nom de plume'. Does that mean you are the 'happiest author' on GA? -
DA Ch 31 - Island Research
Will Hawkins commented on quokka's story chapter in DA Ch 31 - Island Research
The surgery for appedix removal in this day and age is much less serious than it was when I had mine out, more years ago than I want to contemplate. A laparoscopic appendectomy is the operation frequently performed today. Instead of an open operating field, the surgeon uses two tiny openings, inserting a cannula into one and a laparoscope into the other. The area will be inflated with carbon dioxide and the inflamed appendix removed through the cannula. The two small wounds are then sealed with surgical tape or surgical adhesive and the patient usually can be released the same day. The advantage of this technique is the short hospital stay and the tiny scars that may be left. Those are known to heal rapidly and leave scars that are nearly invisible. -
DA Ch 29 - Eclipse Island

being sow far out – being so far out where there was no longer a diesel generator there -- two appearances of word 'there' in same sentence. with this fowl weather – with this foul weather (no birds involved!) I am not going to make nit picky corrections/suggestions as I have done here, but I will reiterate my suggestion that you get a good EDITOR to work over your chapters before they are published. Misterwill, the old troll. -
Jax mentioned a "flying Vet", with distances between cattle stations being so great, it would seem that he could coordinate his own practice with working for the vet at Newham as well. As a Yank who has lived a large part pf his life in the US West and Southwest, I am used to long distances between civilization points but the distances in WA (I jump a little every time I see that abbreviation for Western Australia as it is the same abbreviation used for Washington State where I went to College) have me a little overwhelmed. It is much like Arizona and Utah. It is easy to forget that even though we think of Australia as an Island, that it is about the same overall size as the US.

You have frequently used "Over and out." when quoting voice radio transmissions. You may want to check up on 'Proper vice radio procedures' if you can find an instruction anual somewhere on line. It s my undersanding that 'over and out' is improper procedure. The station being called just says "Over" and the calling station just says "Out" to end communication between stations. No big deal, but it is nice to use proper procedures in a story. I find your 'story telling' abilities very rewarding and I am enjoying my reading a great deal. Congratulations, Mister Will

DA Ch 3 - Plans for the Airbase
Will Hawkins commented on quokka's story chapter in DA Ch 3 - Plans for the Airbase
As a Yank, we are often accused of violating private property, by not paying any attention to restrictive signage. It is interesting to me that Australians do it as well!
