  1. I've just finished reading this story and loved it even though it did make feel emotional in parts, but then a good story should make its readers feel the emotions of the characters. This is the review that I have just left and I mean every word of it;- Beautifully written and intimately descriptive, you don't just get to know the characters you feel for them, the pain, the anguish, and the bond of growing love. Luc has yet to find true happiness that is promised in a later story, but foundations have been laid for his future. It is a great read and highly recommended. I now have to read the follow-up.

  3. Another good chapter, I like the way you capture the insecurities felt by teenagers who have to deal with anxiety. The relationship between Luke and his Dad is slowly feeling the strain of his Dad's new relationship with Elaine. This isn't surprising but what does surprise me is the apparent indifference of Luke's Dad, or is this just someone so wrapped up in his new relationship that he has become temporarily blind to his son's anxiety.
  4. Thank you @Freemantleman for the very kind comments, I hope you continue to enjoy.
  5. Thank you @Freemantleman for the valuable comments. You are right by saying that the adoption/fostering process can be a long a tedious one which is why I wanted to include at least some of that process in the story. These processes can be anything from 6 months to 2 years to go through, the average time being 17 months in total although this is reducing in most cases. I applaud anyone who takes on the role of adoptive or foster parents, as my own parents did, I think it takes a special kind of person to do that. More people can qualify than most think, the main reasons for being refused are very serious health conditions and serious criminal offences, minor offences that are considered spent are often ignored. Remember Ian and Kevin were once homeless but this is not a barrier for them. There will be developments in the story so you will need to read on to discover them.
  6. A well written crime thriller/whodunit with more than a hint of the supernatural thrown. There are enough twists in the plot to keep you guessing, this makes it appealing and a pleasant read. Definitely one to come back to.

  7. Travel arrangements and accommodation in Jerusalem were made with assistance from Mark and his brother-in-law who would meet them, they would stay with his family and meet Joseph. At the same time Marty and The Major made their arrangements with their 'contacts' and made arrangements to meet, a few of them were in the area and had the task of discreetly keeping 'a special eye' on two visitors. ***** It was early evening three weeks later as Marty and The Major were enjoy

  11. Very few people, if any, are truly 100% happy. I suspect that those who claim to be are really 'papering over' the cracks in their lives. My opinion, and that is all it is, is that total happiness is an unachievable goal but being content with life and yourself is much more realistic. Being content with life and yourself is different for each of us. For me that is not forgetting but coming to terms with the less happy times in my past, accepting that I cannot change that, remembering the good times in my past and putting more emphasis on them, and appreciating the good things that I have in my life now. By doing this I am a happier person, I still have my bad days but I am also more open to experiencing the better days and achieving some happiness in my life. Something similar may hopefully work for others, but it won't be the same as we are all different. I hope that we can all achieve a better level of contentment with our lives and experience more of the happy days.

  15. A reasonably accurate description of an aspect of life that many choose to ignore. It's shocking and heart wrenching at the same time, it's also a story that shows there can be hope. It doesn't have a perfect ending, it has a true to life ending. A well written story that deserves to be read.

    Story

It's a well written story that covers a few angles, homelessness, depression, the 'throw-away' kids that feel condemned to life on the streets and prostitution. By highlighting problems like these you are making people think and hopefully helping to make a positive change. Thank you.

    Moving Reasons

Putting aside the initial problems with the work schedule it looks like Thiago and Fabricio are settling in well. But could there be a budding relationship in the cards with Debbie? Coco sounds like she would be a good big sister, it's going to be fun finding out. I'm looking forward to more.
  18. I don't understand why there are no reviews for this story! It's a very moving, if not heart wrenching, story of Eli being faced with one of life's hardest tests. I'm not giving away the ending I want people to read and find out, in fact I challenge them to read and not be moved by it.

    Story

This is one hell of a read, a very powerful story. Cassidy may feel guilty for his mistake, but I feel that he redeemed himself by helping Eli to see the right thing to do. Gabriel was Eli's test and thanks to Cassidy he passed.
