John crawled into bed feeling... well, he was unsure what he was feeling. He was tired. John knew he had worked hard the last couple of days helping Christian, cleaning, polishing and moving furniture. He had helped in the garden and helped wash two of the limousines. John was very tired. For the first time in months, he felt calm, almost serene, as he drifted off to sleep. As he slept, he felt a pair of strong arms holding him tight but also gently, and he felt secure. There was a gentle b

Being British I don't know the area but it sounds idyllic, it's going to be interesting to see where you take this one.

Saturday morning arrived and a usually quiet Barton household was in the grips of a teenage frenzy as Danny was excitedly getting ready to visit JJ. Kate was preparing breakfast and Steve sat listening to the radio while drinking a mug of tea staring out of the window with a smile on his face. “Come on whats with that big grin,” Kate was pointing at Steve with the frying pan in her hand. Steve placed his mug on the table and faced Kate, “I was just thinking about Alex, all this time he

A predictable happy ending, but that did not detract from the story. Relationships are not about what you want from it, it is about what you put into it that makes it work. As with every relationship you only get out of it what you are prepared to put into it and these guys, big and little, all put into it, what they got back was a loving stable family and loving relationships that come from that, I think that's a lesson for us all. Thank you for a great heartwarming story. Oh and is possible that the end of this story is start of a new one, hint hint

We all wonder about what the future will hold, but the future is like the most difficult jigsaw that we will ever come across, some pieces will fit and others won't and some pieces look like they fit but never will. I hope that you are still intrigued and wondering as more pieces of the jigsaw will be found in the next part to this story and I'm staying tight lipped

The tension is building, I wonder if Casey will get voted off next round.

I'm loving it and as I read I can hear the voice of a certain red haired hostess in my head and picture her there, a terrifying experience indeed lol.

@Marty you've convinced me I have to look up that record and the film sounds interesting too. You sound like you was a bit of a rebel in those days lol, I'm sure that you and my Dad would have got on well if you had met.
-
Thank you @Marty it's good to be back. As for Danny and JJ i've got my fingers crossed for them 🤞. As for summary executions I'm not in favour of them myself, but as we both know these thing's do happen in prison to sex offenders. I think we will be hearing more about Mr P as the police have a vested interest in keeping him healthy. And wow, that record is older than me so I don't remembered it but my Dad would have probably remembered it, I may have try to look it up on youtube or something and have a listen it looks like it could be a fun thing to do.

I hope that Owen is going to be okay and as for that black fox I'm sure that there is more to him than just being a black fox, or am I just being dramatic.
-
Hi @Marty it's good to hear from you and see that you're still there, my apologies for the long delay in returning and continuing with the story. I did consider using made up place names but then decided that I could best picture and describe places that I know which is why use the correct place names and locations, I hope that you and other readers approve. As for who is in future chapters, well who knows the story is still unfolding 😉 Oh and just so you know the first of a new instalment of Lost Soul is now posted on GA, I hope you read and like it.

I like the start, it feels like a glimpse into someone's real life, nicely done.

It was a bleak day for John. There were just a few wispy clouds in the sky, and the sun was bright. While the temperature increased outside, his heart grew colder, and his spirits sank. He knew that time was running short, but today he did not want to get out of bed, let alone get dressed. His unruly bed-head hair stuck out, and the dark rings around his puffy eyes reflected how he felt inside. He looked a mess, and he felt it too. Just then, there was a knock on the bedroom door. “Come on

The second of the Lost Soul collection. A glimpse into the past of one of the leading characters from The Boot series. Here we will learn of the good and not-so-good times in John/Christian's past. This story has been revised and edited to improve reader experience, it has not been altered in any other way. 30th June 2023.

I'll promise to keep the secret if you promise to keep on writing great stories, is it a deal? 😀

With every chapter this story gets better and increases the joy of reading it. Thank you I'm looking forward to more of the story.

Thank you @Anton_Cloche, for your meaningful comments. It's thanks to the encouragement that I received from @droughtquake and the invaluable help received from @Backwoods Boy and @Jdonley75 that gave me the passion to write this story and the follow-up The Boot - Three Years On and the add on stories of Lost Souls that have and are being written. This is something that I had never before seen myself doing. I hope that you continue to read and enjoy. Craig

The Proxigean Spring Tide
Mancunian commented on lomax61's story chapter in The Proxigean Spring Tide
Beautifully told and a pleasure to read, thank you. -
A short moving story that that tells of the love and grief that many of us experience. I recommend this as a must read, but have a tissue or two handy.

I'm glad that you didn't make this a full length novel, it's perfect, beautiful and poignant in this short form. Although in many ways it is a story of sadness it shows love in the way it is told. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you @Jondon for the comment I happy that you are enjoying it, there will be more to come very soon but I'm not giving out any spoilers 🙂. The first instalment of Lost Soul has already been posted on site and the first part of a new Lost Soul instalment is currently waiting in the moderation queue which will hopefully be posted in the next day or so. more to that story and more stories to the Lost Soul collection will also be posted in due course. I hope you enjoy 😀.

A lot can happen in less than a week and the judiciary had definitely been busy. The papers had reported two separate cases of pedophilia in the Manchester area culminating in three arrests. One where a previously respected child care worker had been arrested for sexual assault against a minor while in care, he had been arrested when caught trying to assault a youth who was in hospital. Enquiries were ongoing and it was believed that further arrests could take place in connection with the incide

I owe a huge apology to everyone who has been reading this story. For reasons that I will not go into I found myself unable write and finish what I started. I previously raised false hopes in some who were looking forward to the upcoming chapters. For all of this I am extremely sorry and can only hope that you can find it in you to forgive me, I will understand and accept if you can't. It is my intention to continue the story and have spent a little time rereading and editing this and other stories. I have written the next chapter and after I have checked, rechecked and done what I can with editing I will post chapter 14, hopefully in the next couple of days. I am sorry and apologise to you everyone.
