The Boot World - The Boot & The Lost Souls Series
Mancunian replied to Mancunian's topic in Stories Discussion Forum
I have just replied to a personal message which asked a very good question. A reader wanted to know the best order in which to read the stories in The Boot World. The Boot World is the combination of The Boot Series and The Lost Soul Series and creates quite a reading list. The Stories were written as the inspiration took me and were not written in chronological order. For anyone wishing to read the stories in their chronological order, I would suggest the following;- Lost Soul - John/Christian The Boot Lost Soul - The Ox The Boot Three Years On (This may be edited and re-written in the future, in the same way that GJ&C has been.) The Dinner Aunt Mays Magic The Busker Goldstein Johnson & Cole (2024 re-write) [It is better than the original.] What Happened To The Baxter Boys More stories are planned and will be added in the future. As they are yet to be written it is possible they could fit anywhere into the above order.- 73 replies

Thank you for the encouraging comment Chris. @raven1 has helped a great deal with his editing and encouragement. I hope you continue to enjoy it. I'll be posting new chapters in fairly quick succession, so the full story will be posted over the next few weeks.

I hope you will enjoy reading the story @chris191070. Previously it was a good story that was poorly written and not well edited. I think this is a better-written and edited version.

Aloha Albert, I hope you and Steve are keeping yourselves wrapped up warm. The snow may need shovelling, but take it easy and do not overdo it.

“I like this.” Kevin lifted his head from Ian's chest, tilted his head, and gave his man a short, loving kiss. “Yeah, I know. I do, too.” Ian returned the kiss with equal love and gentleness. “Sometimes I still have trouble believing that we have come so far and are still together.” “Why? I've never doubted our love or commitment to each other.” Kevin was curious about what was going through Ian's mind. Wistfully, Ian gazed across the room toward the TV but did not see it or the p

Part of the Lost Soul Series and The Boot World. This is Ian and Kevin's story and is set in 2011. This is a re-write of the original story posted in 2022. It is more than an edit which corrects poor grammar and punctuation. With the help of Raven1, the story has been expanded with added dialogue and descriptive text, making it more engaging and informative. The Boot has been re-incarnated as The New Boot and has been operational for almost eighteen months. However, this is not about The Ne

Part of the Lost Soul Series and The Boot World this is Ian and Kevin's story. In the summer of 2011, they move from a rented flat in The Northern Quarter of Manchester to their own house in Prestwich. As couples do they reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Unexpected news changes their lives and gives a glimpse into the past of their friend Manny. This re-write of the original story posted in 2022, is more than an edit, added dialogue and description tells the story better and has been achieved with the help of raven1. It may help, but it is not essential, to read the other stories in the series.

You got me there, we rarely get snow like that where I live. If I lived 20 miles away on The Pennines it would be different.

It looks beautiful though.

Aloha Albert. Has the weather got any better in your part of the world?

It's not unusual at all, it's what you can expect from Eco-Drives. I generally find about a two-minute or less time difference each time I alter the time for UK daylight saving time, twice a year. What it says in the specs is to cover themselves in case it needs an adjustment. If it ever needs that adjustment, which would be rare, the jeweller you bought it from would return it to Citizen for the adjustment to be made. In the twenty years I've worked in the industry I've never known one that needed adjustment.

Aloha Albert, I hope you and Steve are wrapped up warm and staying indoors.

Just remember to listen to the news bulletins and keep an eye on that fire. Keep yourself and your family, including the little furry ones, safe. We're all hoping for the best for you and keeping our fingers crossed. 🤞

Hey, look after yourself and Moma Espinosa. And make sure you let us know that you're okay.

I got back from the workshop half an hour ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm hoping that Joshua will be holding another workshop soon. I cheekily took a few of my short stories to ask for his opinion. He chose to read The Busker and said it was a good story and that he enjoyed reading and encouraged me to continue writing.

We are looking forward to it. Most of the short plays that Joshua writes have an LGBT slant to them, so it should be very interesting.

I'm good thanks. Tomorrow I'm going to The Whitworth Art Gallery with a few friends, we're going to a creative writing workshop being held by Joshua Val Martin, a local playwriter.
