Thanks for this back story (if that's the correct term). Part 1 really was an enjoyable read, even if the events at the end took me by surprise. I'd noticed that you have started uploading Part 2. At the moment I'm holding off starting to read it. The chapters seem to be going up fairly quickly, so I'm hoping it won't be too long before I will be able to read it all at a single sitting. That's maybe just me, I prefer not to have to wait too long between chapters...

Thanks, @drpaladin! Once I get to sleep, I tend to sleep very soundly as well. I remember a severe storm, apparently with accompanying loud thunder and lightning, happening one night when I was sharing a tent with two companions. When I awoke the next morning, I found the tent had been badly damaged in the night. Only for the efforts of my companions the tent would have been completely destroyed. I asked them why they hadn't woken me up to help, to which their reply was that I had looked so comfortable that they hadn't had the heart to wake me. 😮 The next chapter shouldn't be too long coming now. After that we may see Danny return to his old school for speech day, where he will receive his A-Level certificate. It's entirely possible that event might not go quite as smoothly as Danny would expect...

Thanks for commenting, @Daddydavek I'm not sure that Derek is really a dick, as you put it. It could be that he has his own back story that Danny is not even aware of yet...

Hopefully, if Danny actually remembers to buy the cotton wool, his sleep won't be interrupted so much in the future. I have Chapter 6 basically finished. Really just needs a careful edit now. Hopefully it won't be too many days before it's ready to be uploaded. Thanks for the comment, @Geron Kees

Thank you, Gary! I found it offensive as well. Everything you say was what I was thinking when I was reading what was being said. Another reason I, personally, was upset was because it seemed as though someone was being judged entirely because of the way their voice sounded. As a young child I had a very bad speech impediment. I was constantly being made fun of because of it. Not just my peers, but even adults would do that. People just assumed that, because I couldn't talk properly, I was some sort of mental retard. I can remember occasions, when I was out with my mother, other adults actually saying to my mother how sorry they felt for her, having a child like me. "I feel so sorry for you. Just to look at him, he seems so normal" was the sort of thing I would hear being said about me. I think the main reason I wasn't as forceful as you when I made my first comment about not being happy, is that I am a relative newcomer to this forum, so I wasn't sure just what is considered acceptable behaviour in here. That, plus the fact that it is often difficult in text based chat to be sure just how some comments that people make might actually have been intended, due to the fact that there is no body language, or tone of voice, to interpret. (There weren't even any emoticons used in the comments to help me gauge whether they were being said seriously or not.) I'm sorry if me making that original comment has upset any other members of this forum. But it needed to be said, and I will not apologise for saying it.
