It just might! 😳 Thanks for reading and commenting. You know what is coming for these guys, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the ride back through Camp Refuge!

May 12 (Saturday) Greg was more than happy with their progress at the end of the day. Cabin Four looked great, and Clay had even started on Three as well. He would finish that one the following day. Then all they'd both need were bedding, mattresses, and a few random things to round out the spaces. He'd go into town on Monday and do some shopping at the Crescent City thrift stores for most of it. Greg noticed that one of the thrift stores carried new, unwrapped mattresses. He suspected they

Thanks, Tom! Yep, more questions are still hanging out there, certainly. We'll get there. Stick with me!

This moment... Even the raw stuff you wrote when you were bouncing ideas off of me, even that had me reeling when this moment hit. This expanded, edited, and well-polished version is all the more powerful. Stravor the Elder, driven by visions following his destined role in the struggle, taking such a risk with the life of his son. Stravor the Younger, a pawn in a huge game played by a god, yet even a pawn can win the match. Will he? That's the question, really. What has become of both Stravor and Keter, now that they are both trapped in the realm with the blood god? Yeah. We need that next chapter! 😬

Thanks, tim! That new moon is getting closer!

Thanks, tim! 🙂 It was time for some action, eh?

Maybe so! Thank you for writing! There’s one more too, and a lot can happen in a chapter.

Thanks, Chris. Yeah, Jed's boyfriend and packmate saved him. What's with the spirit calling him a demon? Weird!

Oops. 🙂 Thanks, Parker. This was a long chapter (for me), but I had a lot to say. There are still a few things to wrap up, and we'll get to those, probably next week. I had fun writing this one!

Saturday, April 20 (the day after full moon) Joan left with Daniel in his truck. The meet-up with the Silverwolf had gone as well as it could have, and she was happy about that. Joan looked over at Daniel as the man drove. A contented calm smoothed Daniel's features. Though Joan smiled at that, something bothered her. "Daniel," she avoided the voice as she addressed her new packmate. "I want you to tell me something." He nodded as he drove. "What do you want to know, ma'am?" Joan

If you want that slow burn, click here. It will be a very long time before Ash and Ember makes it onto the site, so if you're between stories you can give that one a shot. Thanks for the faith. The guys all have a lot of journey ahead of them. Just because Greg and Clay decided to try, doesn't mean it'll all be smooth sailing for them either. Keep reading. We'll get there.

There are probably a couple of chapters of that. 😛

Hi Ford. Thanks for commenting. Yeah. It did move pretty fast. But, Clay had a plan. He waited for two years, and he was done; he was ready to see if it would work or not, and luckily for us it did. But, if you want a slow burn story, I have one of those too. Seriously slow burn... chapters and chapters and chapters. 🙂 If you're interested in that let me know and I'll send you a link to it (I've yet to post it on this site, but that's coming down the line). Thanks again.

This was on topic, educational, thoughtful and well-said. I just feel like I need to call that out, and thank you for it. 🙂 Concerning Greg and Mason: You're gonna love chapter five. I can't say much more about it other than that, but I based what happened to Greg on a good friend of mine who grew up in Alabama in the 80s. It's nearly verbatim what he went through. We have come a long way. But getting here has left many scars, and some of those will never heal.

Thanks, tim! I hope you stay interested in the story. This one really is near and dear to my heart. It's the story where I found my favorite genre and this cast of characters still rotates into my mind often.

Thanks, Tonyr. He's a good guy. What mainly upset him was the thought that his dad might have cheated on his mom. But, then there's also the business with Greg hiding his sexuality. Mason's a bit militant about his - he wants the world to know it, and he is willing to fight anyone who has a problem with it.

Hi Bryan. Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you're along for the ride. I had a lot of readers worried that I was changing the spirit/heart of the story, and that's really not what is happening at all. Just cleaning up, and making it better in just about every way. Elias is one of my favorite characters I've ever written. He's sweet, complex, gifted, and deserving. It's awfully hard to dislike a character such as him. I'm glad you're not sorry for liking him; I think that he deserves it. You know there will be more. 🙂

Mason's 17. ALMOST 18. He's mostly an adult, and he mostly acts like one. Though, as you have seen, he does have his moments.

Thanks, Jeffrey. I’m glad you find it interesting. You’re reading the smoothed and edited version right off the bat, so even better! More to come!

Thanks, Chris. He is confused - not about himself, but about his dad and Greg. He simply doesn’t have a lot of lived experience yet, though he thinks he has all the answers. 😋

Yep. It's a lot for him to take in and accept. He's trying. Yeah, he's still a teenager, but he is trying.

Thanks! I did a heavy edit myself, and then Thorn did as well. With our powers combined (okay, mostly Thorn's) it has been massaged to a nice readability. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

May 12 (Saturday) Mason woke. He was a little disoriented at first, blinking in the dark cabin as he got his bearings. The time difference meant he was awake at five a.m., even though the sky was still dark outside. Mason loved his dad, and he worried about him, but that worry encompassed more than the danger of Clay's job. Ever since Mason's mom died Clay had totally cut himself off from any kind of emotional connection with someone new. Yesterday when they had met up with Greg, it was the f

Ohhhh... that looks tasty. Reminds me of what we call a strada. You can put almost anything you want in them, but they're all savory and good.
