    Guarded

It's an emotional situation. I think you'll like the next chapter, though. 🙂

You're welcome. Thank you for reading and commenting! I'm glad you enjoyed the story. If you like romance, Ash and Ember would likely appeal to you. It's a very slow burn, but once the fire starts, it goes pretty hot.

    Trust

I use a weird technique with dialogue. Every line, I speak aloud. I do that to test how it sounds. Is it natural? Does the dialogue flow as easily as a conversation would? It helps me write realistic dialogue, even if my husband glances at me as I mumble away. Lol

    Broken Blood

Oh, I get some of the judgment for Wren’s behavior. But yes - he has his past and thus his reasons. And now you know him a bit better and can understand him. Thanks for reading and for the comment.
  5. I love how helpful this group is concerning tim's and Michael's new yak.
  6. That's great. I love that you got to watch someone discover it!
  7. Good luck with your new House Yak! What are you going to name them? Yarny? Yakerson? Michael's Mental Breakdown?
  8. As a writer, I love hidden meanings. As a reader, I love them even more - particularly when I stumble on them myself. So, it was with great joy that I inserted one into one of my stories. Once someone sees it, they'll KNOW. No guessing required. It'll be that obvious once discovered. It wasn't hard to do, but apparently it was (is!) hard to detect. It has been years now, and no one has found it. Or, if they have, they've yet to comment on it. So my question is: have you done something similar? Have you taken something you've made and hidden a little easter egg? And watched as people either discover it, or don't? It could be art, music, knitting, a story, a poem, or anything else requiring a bit of creativity. At the time, I felt so clever! Now, I just wonder if I had a reason to. LOL So, share with me. Tell me your clever schemes hiding in plain sight. That way, I can improve my own skills in a game that only I knew I was playing. Haha.

    Epilogue

    That’s the idea. 😏

    Chasing Shadows

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. Glad you're still here and still reading.

    Chasing Shadows

Haha. Yes. Though, you will meet another wolf that is WAY worse than Jed's. You'll see.
  12. Thanks for including my work! I have to say, Curing Humanity is one of the best things I've written. It's short, but packs a punch. I'm gratified that folks seemed to like it. I'll have to take some of these others for a spin. Horror is fun!

    Family

Great to hear! Broken is a bit darker. Grittier. But those stories deserve telling too. I hope you enjoy it.

    The Word of Man

That's the thing about Harlan. He just is who he is. He doesn't try to be anything else, and he doesn't try and convince anyone that he's worth anything beyond what they see and know. But keep reading. Let me know how you feel about him after chapter six. 🙂
  15. Thank you for reading and for commenting. I think that chapter was one of the best and most emotional things I've ever written. I'm glad you felt what I was trying to convey. Though I'll say, if you want emotional, Fleeting Eternity is top of the list. Broken, the third (fourth?) installment of the Camp Refuge series, is also quite the ride on the emotional rollercoaster, too. Thanks again.

    Healer

Thank you for the nice words. Inspiring emotion ... that's what feeds my soul. It's why I write, really. And that I've managed to do that for some folks through my work is gratifying in the extreme. I hope the rest of the story continues to appeal to you.

    Orson

Thank you. I do enjoy these characters. And the story too. Thanks for spending your time learning a few new terms to help you understand. I think the journey is worth it.

    Pride

You’re welcome. We talk about darkness in our history, hopeful we won’t repeat the same mistakes. Thanks for reading and for the comments.

    Epilogue

Thank you! I'm super glad you enjoyed Guarded and that you're jumping into Camp Refuge. I've said this numerous times, but Camp Refuge is very different from Guarded. Don't expect another suspense/mystery. At its heart, it's a romance. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

    Chapter 17

The comments and interactions make GA one of the best places to be an author. It’s something few other sites have, and it’s such fun to read/respond to them.
  21. FYI - I have partaken of the nectar of the stupid tree. You know. Alcohol.
  22. Hey. You need someone handled? I, ah. I know a guy. Yeah. Youze just let me know. I gotchu, gurl.

    Chapter 11

I LOVED reading all of the theories and speculation. It was, and still is, great fun to read through them. 😝
