This was a great low key, but important and informative chapter. Seeing Ty get thrown off his game a bit was interesting. It added a touch of vulnerability to him. He's usually so together and ready for anything. Somehow, I have a feeling his investigation is gonna have a few hiccups. I'm intrigued by the EC is using a shadow mage, given it's rep. However, it's a smart choice. I'm glad they're not prejudiced towards the affinity. I'm excited to see how much stronger and resilient Vinnie's gonna be with his magic now that he's learned to use it without anger. He amazes me with how quickly he can pick up and learn things. I'm sooo looking forward to seeing Cy's dance, and it's nice seeing Kap voicing his feelings for Cyrus. And Stacy's just amazing. Not only with her being so accepting of Dave and his wolf, but also her external control despite her nervousness on the inside. I hope she'll let Dave turn her, I'd love to see her wolf.

This is an incredibly moving piece. I didn't lose my Mom as early as you, but I did lose her 7 years ago. My husband and I still have her urn on the piano she and my Dad played when I was growing up. Thank you for creating and sharing this. 😃

I'm very disheartened by the experience you had. However, if your thoughts or opinions are constructive, then you should voice them. You never know, maybe your comment is exactly what the author needs to hear. It also might bring attention to some overlooked detail. I truly don't believe an author can grow and improve without feedback,and I'm including myself in my statement.

This is a truly amazing story as is its sequel. The characters have nice depth and are believable.

I've spent a lot of time on this site as well as nifty, tklfrat, and deviantart. Most of my stories from 2008 to the years ago are on tklfrat. Personally, I used to give exact descriptions because it was another member's suggestion so readers could form an image or something to that effect. Anyway for the most part I've tried to shut away from really explicit sex scenes and do more with monogamy and being sensual and playful. My husband and I met 21 years ago and had our commitment ceremony 20 years ago. Then we got legally married in 2012. We've lived together since the day we met. Sorry, back to my point. Well, the fact he's that strong and not an Alpha of course he likes to win. LOL I see him as an invaluable ally and teacher for both Mason and Vinnie given his military background. I'm thinking if Mason or Vinnie had even a quarter of the training Ashford had either one of them might've won or had a draw with the sparr. I do like how the magic wasn't much of a help, but a bit of hindrance in this sparr. I've always been concerned how Vinnie would be able to handle a combat where his magic wasn't enough.

I loved Bartlett and Ashford. It's amazing to see all these strong minded and Alpha personalities coming together in such a positive way. I'd love to see Ashford help in training Vincent with his physical hand to hand combat as well as Mason. It could really be an asset in future issues with less than open minded and power-hungry aggressors. It's also nice to see Vince not taking his losses hard, but learning from them. And the fact Ashford wasn't rubbing Mace's or Vincent's noses in them losing to him was really cool.

Damn, I loved Vincent declaring Lei and Elaine his second set of parents. The scene and visual I got brought tears to my eyes. I'm a little disappointed and relieved there wasn't some emotional or spiritual recognition from his birth parents, however, the interaction with Lady Terick was emotional enough. The best part was Lei's expressive embrace with Vincent. It really showed a softer and loving side to him. I look forward to seeing more of their expressed love and guidance as Vincent progresses and gets stronger. I think Lei will be an awesome guide as well as Tierney for Vincent's Alpha Wolf, and Mason as well with him being a youngish Alpha.

Yeah, it was a long shot, but hell if a triple affinity mage Alpha and fall in love with another Alpha and become a beloved member of a pack, then anything is possible. LOL

I also just had the thought of Mason and Vinnie going to the city, and Ty running Owensville. He wouldn't be much of a departure from Mason's way of doing things. But, I also liked the idea of a merging of the two territories centexhairysub suggested.
