    Chapter 15

Signing out students is the same here. That's why in an early chapter Alan makes a mental note to add Peter to the list of who's allowed to collect Troy. What he didn't consider at the time was who may be already on that list. The grandparents are a logical choice, in case the parents are unable to do so, and, as we've just discovered, Craig and Lisa had given Craig's parents permission...

    Chapter 15

A good lawyer will argue that it's not kidnapping. After all, they've just finished negotiating access to the boys, and while we didn't see the details, it's probably that the agreement includes allowing the boys to spend time with their grandparents. I'm sure that their lawyer will argue that they thought the agreement allowed them to do what they've done. We'll have to let a judge decide if that argument holds water.

    Chapter 15

But...but...but...they told Troy's teacher that they were only taking Troy for the weekend. They must have forgotten to tell Alan. Nothing to worry about at all

    Chapter 15

“Settle down, Alan. You’re starting to worry the boys.” Alan gave Troy and Bradley a guilty look. The two boys were sitting in front of the television, apparently mesmerised by the antics of SpongeBob SquarePants, but as Alan watched, Troy glanced in his direction with a fearful expression on his face. Alan pushed his concerns to one side and smiled as reassuringly as he could at his nephew. “Sorry,” he whispered to Peter. Peter dragged Alan away, out of sight of the boys. “You told me that He

    Chapter 16

Ryder's a teenager, with a typical teenager's self-centeredness. He's also a typical teenager in that he can be dragged out of that self-centeredness by someone pointing out that he's being an ass... I'm hoping everything goes well for Shawn and Dylan, especially Ryder's almost-promise to Dylan that he'll be able to draw again. Finger's also crossed for Ryder and Callen, but that's because I'm a romantic at heart

  8. You don't think that Deflategate hurts Tom Brady's status? For me, unfortunately most quarterbacks I've read about didn't make it to the NFL (though a lot of them got their guy by the time I finished reading ).
  9. Death In Paradise -- It takes the British to make a good Murder/Mystery series that's also a comedy It's a pity they couldn't keep the original cast together, but they did a good job with the replacements.

    Chapter 14

Sadly, some people seem incapable of seeing an alternate point of view once they've made up their mind

    Chapter 14

Unless he takes time off from work, Peter won't be there. The Lyntons may also object if he were there, since he's not one of the boys' guardians.

    Chapter 13

Thank you! Peter hasn't walked away yet, and he might not. We'll have to wait and see if things get better

    Chapter 15

I'm glad Shawn and Dylan will be out of that house, but I'm worried for them as moving to Ohio is going to take both of them away from their friends and social support network. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out for them. As for Ryder, while it's good that he's starting to open up to Callen, I hope for his sake that Coach never finds out that they had the house to themselves. It's a very typical and natural thing that Ryder did, but he also breached his father's trust with a lie-by-omission. If he's caught, he's going to be in a lot of trouble. Of course, he's probably going to be in a lot of trouble already with Renee, but that's something he can ask Coach for advice on, if he wants to.

    Chapter 14

The chapter's been fixed. Thank you! Peter doesn't want to leave; he loves Alan too much to do that. He also knows that Alan depends on him financially, as Merideth pointed out. It may get to the point where he'll have to make a choice, but he's not there...yet.

    Chapter 14

Thanks. It appears that I accidentally pasted the chapter in twice. I didn't notice it at the time, but it's now been fixed

    Chapter 14

Thank you! It appears the Lyntons have a contact (or contacts) in the department and are thus able to escalate things. It also appears that the contact isn't able to override the recommendations by the field workers, so it may be simply someone who is charge of scheduling, and has limited other powers.

    Chapter 14

Mediation is a required step in the process for things like this. Unless there's some sort of emergency, the procedure is to send the disputing parties to mediation to see if the problems can be resolved without getting a judge involved. It only goes to a judge if mediation fails.

    Chapter 14

The visits by Steve and Keidan on Friday nights were turning into a tradition. Keidan raised his beer bottle in a salute. “Congratulations, guys! I’m guessing that getting a pass from the department means there’ll be no more problems from the Lyntons.” Alan and Peter exchanged glances. Alan then looked over to where Steve was playing with Troy and Bradley. The two boys had been looking forward to another Fun Friday, and Steve hadn’t disappointed them. The three were on the ground playing Twiste

    Interlude

I think we all knew that something bad had happened to Travis, and now we know what it is. For a male rape survivor, he's doing really well. One touching part for me is how he wants to protect Katy from the truth. He still has a heart, even if rarely lets anyone see it The ending is also very promising. He has a long way to go, but he's started the journey.

    Hypocrite

I like Ben in this chapter He is showing signs that he wants to be himself. He's also acknowledged that he's always had gay tendencies, and that's a huge step forward for him. He also resisted temptation, using Travis as a shield, which is good. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for him

    Hollow Chasm

I can see a crack in Travis's armour. We already know that Ben has cracks in his own. Will they try to fix their armour or will they take a chance? Ben wants to take that chance, but I'm not sure if Travis has that much courage.

    The Marionette

I'm not sure what's going to happen next. There's a connection between the two guys, but I'm not sure it's a healthy one If there's going to be a happy ending, there's a whole lot of pain to get through first...
