I wish I could claim a legitimate reason but nope Just a enclosed life atm!! I'm A bit trapped as a live in carer for a demanding & quiet unpleasant parent & free time is very limited so I am eternally grateful for my very understanding & loving partner / fiancee who's favourite expression is "this Is your reality for right now but we will have a great life together & it will he bigger & better" So when I can't sleep or when I can grab 10 mins to myself I love to lose myself in great gay fiction!!

Thank you for the explanation of the wood I've never heard of it. I'm guessing It was a special request ad part of the fit out. I actually used to live about 10 miles as the crow flies from the sunseeker factory in Poole Quay, Dorset & was used to seeing New vessels heading out to the English channel & beyond on their sea trails etc from my home in Swanage as they passed between old Harry Rocks & Swanage Bay on the UNESCO world heritage Jurrasic coastline & The world famous Needles on the Isle of Wight From small "gin palaces" to super yachts like you've beautifully described.

I thought this was a short story by Quokka's usual story lengths!? Completed unduly hastily in the final chapter perhaps but complete nonetheless & a great tale of family, love & "differences" that can divide & later join us & make us as whole as possible & show the strength within each & everyone of us!!??! As usual fantastically written in a way that your drawn into the the plot & want to root for the characters & care about the twists & turns. Search out other Stories by the same author & you won't be disappointed !!

Yet again our love & respect should go to anyone & everyone that can & do foster & adopt children in any & every country in this world. So much good has happened with lives enriched For both young & old and all those in between!. My youngest nephew Kyle was adopted by my totaly self centred (only he would get married on his birthday n I swear it was only so he couldn't forget the anniversary !? Lol) shit of a younger Brother & his wonderful wife almost 6 years ago after many failed IVF rounds took their toll & they both admit it changed their lives & they cant remember LBK - life before Kyle! My brother is a great father (but he won't hear that from me hes still a turd to me Lol!!) & his wife a fantastic mother. They both agree the foster parents that raised their now son from 4 days old for the first 4 years of his life (he was a druggies baby who was given a choice her druggie/dealer boyfriend or her child & she chose the dealer!????) DID A FANTASTIC JOB & gave them a well rounded & grounded young boy with the building blocks with which to create a loving family. They are stable loving laughing enjoying & exploring always, "A Forever Family" in every sense of the words. To all those that care & those that adopt I salute you! K, G & G I love you! I've just re-read The story & enjoyed it as much the 2nd time around!! I've just posted a comment on chapter 10 asking 4 questions the answers of which if they'd been in the story would have made It a 5* review. In my mind Quokka is one of the best "modern day situation" writers with predominantly Australian based stories but also those that cover other countries such as the UK (& the EU to a lesser level) South Africa, The Falkland Islands & The Indian Ocean Territories to name some but not all locations used. His research & attention to location detail & accuracy are unparalleled!!! One of my all time top 5 Gay Story Authors !!

Ok I've just spent the last 2hrs re-reading this story. Still a great read 2nd time around! 4 questions to tie all loose ends up! 1) which property had the bookcase with the secret entrance to the wine cellar/reading & smoking room. 2) who created it!? 3) were the contents ever appraised?? 4) was the room ever used again & enjoyed!? Ok LOVED the first chapter in the new book! Went back n read a few chapters in the last book to refresh my memory on the main characters & some of their back stories. That was no hardship as it was a fantastic read!! Your intro to this chapter covered a lot which Was great!! I wont apologise or put a BUT in. Janice & David are Ryan's Parents!? They dont appear or aren't mentioned on this trip until arrival in Calgary!? Even then little mention!? Or have I missed something. I'm not not being picky !? Just enquiring!!
