I rarely ever post publicly nowadays but as soon as I read your recipe it brought back a rare good food memory from childhood - my mum was/is a shocking cook BUT this was one dish even she couldn't cock up!! Roflol. Mashed neeps (Swede ) (or turnips ) & carrots go well with mashed spuds with this dish as they soak up the nice thick gravy!! Hmmm I might need to try cooking this now? I'm my mums live in sole carer & fairs fair she can risk a "new to me cooking it dish" lol 😂

Homelessness in the UK is on the rise and has been for a number of years. Theres no easy fix. The number of families in poor temporary accommodation is also on the rise and has been in the news many times in 2023. There are many many reasons this occurs and each person or each family can tell you a tale that will break your heart! To read about two devoted brothers living rough on the streets of Manchester and their chance meeting with a giant of a man with a heart of gold and his amazing husband their "chosen family" and their amazing circle of friends that run & volunteer at a centre called the "New Boot" is more than uplifting! Read it and say you never shed a tear and I'll call you a liar! But in a jocular friendly and conversational way!! How you react and how you might be enticed into helping some small way in your own community will be this collaborative endeavours real world legacy and it deserves a real world legacy!!!!! Read on and keep the tissues to hand!! My own story in a nutshell is I had my home repossessed in July 2017. I'd had to close my business in late 2016 and I just couldnt keep the plates spinning any longer. I'm disabled & I still don't have a home to call "my own" but I have a safe roof over my head whilst I act as a parents unpaid 24/7 carer. After 11years of being single I have a great partner (were in our 6th year!) that I love so my life is definitely on the upward swing! So no matter how bleak things look never give up!! Help and hope can shine from the most unlikely of places!

Early hours Monday morning and I can't sleep so this fast paced chapter was a God send tbh. Mr E Scruggs is an astute lawyer even if he isn't one of the courtly fopps that Granger despises he is a man of integrity aware of his ineptitude is upper social circles but over all he is a fast study & I'm sure his plain talking will win many a man, royal Duke, princes & possibly even the king over!,!? An honest man plainly spoken but true of mind will be refreshing for many and he will not disgrace Grainger & I truly hope that one will serve well and both will be "well serviced" 😱😉😉😉 I hope he will become a good friend to Granger.?!? Lady K sounds like a rum old bird who knew how to run her estate & financial affairs with such an income as has been quoted she will have lived well but modestly by London standards I'm sure. Her tenants and staff were important to her and I'm guessing well liked and respected by them. Her mistrust of caroline was astute and close to the knuckle as it now turns out! Is there a formal title or other leg up gain attached too.???? Grangers father was too keen to learn who was to inherit is he in financial distress or has his greedy side shown itself once again??? Will we learn who was to inherit if Scruggs wasnt happy with Granger and his assurances that he lived and let live when it came to people's choices as to religion?? Caroline had it laid on the line after her daughter was born and she hasnt learned her lessons and the price for her deceit & ongoing open n lavicious affair is know from the servants to the sovereign. I'm sure she'll and up un the shires well away from London, Yorkshire and the south east. Her access to her children will be supervised I'm sure. Apart from her dowry she is financially independent & most astute and will be sbke to on s budget look after her own affairs but with herveinges clipped as a social & courtly outcast and sevetly tainted!! George will rely heavily on his closest friends to ensure that his estate financial affairs and his political affairs will be maintained and eith luck enhanced if he has to go to see or travel at the will of his sovereign or his former masters at the admiralty come a calling!?!? To end on a crude note given the hour now I'm sure he like me George will find head spinning and need some sexual relief or just a plain old fast n furious wank to relive his stresses and to aid his sleep!? Like any type of agreement if the terms are laid out and agreed too at the beginning then things should run smoothly. Such sudden about turns & amendments on the fly doesn't bode well for the short term future of the exchange. Why even go through with it with senior staff on sick leave, high patient appointments, sending experienced staff half way across the globe doesn't make sense. Litigation or cutting their losses?? I'd cut my losses & experience working in different zoos given half the chance and travelling around as time permits!?!? Something dodgy is happening at that practice!? But what, by whom & why involve our boys!?!? What are the two in Oz up to!? Dont think Auggie is too impressed by them but csmy be sure atm Loving the story but just getting into a chapter when it ends!.!! ❤

Kudos to the admin director for taking them seriously an despite his inexperience in animal care utilising the lads, taking control and instructing the zoo staff on his action plan!! The animals come first and that is as it should be & the lads, well they're hitting the ground running at the start of their Welsh trip. Fingers crossed that this ends up as it should !?!?! Roflol We dont really have estate sales in the UK n those that there are are usually auctions big landed gentry "estates" & run by big auction houses and on average you have to allow 15-22% commission plus VAT on to the hammer price so they ain't cheap. Being an amateur Antiques dealer by hobby I'd beat Aunt May to the door (& I'm on crutches!!) and let the screen door swing back on her!! Alls fair in antiques war!! My mum & I went to his funeral as did most of the homeless community & big issue sellers. The area he sold in Westbourne, almost every business shut an they attended the funeral too there were almost 300 people packed into the church. This was a sickening case where drunk teenagers kicked a man to death when he didnt have cigarettes to hand over to them!?!? Out in 2 years & whinging like a bitch!?? Really?? FFS!? Soz! This could happen in any large town or city in our country. Knife crime is on the increase & drug fuelled violence is also on the increase both of which tend to be youngsters as perpetrators and victims. Why is it the ones trying to build themselves up are pulled down.?? This can be put to both sides of what I've just said too! Tbh it's often the idyllic seaside towns & aoanb's or national parks where drugs an crime can be at its worst outside major cities. Large areas few employment opportunities & little for teenagers to be engaged in!? "Soft" drugs are an easy escape & "fun" it spirals from there. Oh your not wrong there! It was the right thing to do ie break away but boy was the deal brokered a total "s**t storm! It was announced yesterday that we had in the last 12 month almost 46k illegal immigrants crossing the 26/27 mile wide English channel in rubber dinghy's. (Thats a rise of almost 85% on the previous year!! )Risking their lives in the process & scores have died! Atleast 30-40% of those were not legitimate potential asylum seekers but economic migrants mainly from Albania who can not claim asylum.!! Around £1.6 million a DAY is being paid to house (mainly in hotels) all who arrive. Our streets are not paved in gold!! Trust me I've dbl checked!!! As a full time carer for a parent I am only worth being paid approx £64 per week whether I work 6 or 60 hrs a week. As it is I only get 11 hrs a week free time. I live in so i am on call 24/7 and I average 3 hrs a night sleep. I DONT claim this money as if I did my mother would have £97 pw cut from her social benefits. I survive on my disability benefits! Until 2017 I worked full time running my own business & I owned my own house so I am not normally a lay about "waster" who hasn't contributed to society. The winners here? Our government as they are not paying circa £2k a week for a nursing home place for my mother & the gang masters who are charging between £5-10k per person in each in overcrowded dingy crossing the busiest shipping lane in the northern hemisphere!!!!!!!!!!!. Soz I got off topic in my early (circa 0200 GMT) hours frustrated out burst! I'm not racist & I do believe legitimate asylum seekers should he made welcome, but how many other E.U countries have they passed through & in which they may have been advised to keep moving through before climbing into a dingy on the French coast!?!? In theory those with legitimate claims should claim asylum in the first E.U. country they enter. This also isn't a tenable situation but that's ok an issue for them to resolve as a joint block of countries. All of this is me saying we might have left the E.U. but we haven't been able to take proper control of out boarders. We even pay huge sums each year to France for their extra efforts in allegedly better policing the beaches & stopping the dinghy's!? Are we getting value for our money!?
