Spirit Wolves 1. Hybrid Journey

Ok, dude (and I know, it's dudette, lol), this one ticks a lot of boxes for me. First, I love to dive into a completely new universe, right at the "big bang", so to speak - and madam, you did not disappoint me here! I've literally been reading this on my smoke breaks, lunch breaks and as soon as I'm off work for the last three days. I've slept about 9 hours in that time. Because I just HAD TO KNOW what happened next. Thank you, for sharing such a wonderful (though also horrifying and completely fucked up) tale with us. You bring a depth and a sense of the real to your characters that very few authors accomplish. More, please!!

Kbois does it again in this well crafted story about shifters from different areas that are brought together by a force and calling greater than them. When shifter pups around the same age start missing, the power pack is brought together to expose corruption, deceit, and trafficking. You truly feel all the emotions in this one. 

Okay, I rarely give five stars on stories; have actually had authors ask me not to review because of that.  That said, this one fully deserves every bit of a five star rating.  The writing and pacing for this story were simply first rate from start to finish.  The character development, even on the secondary and ancillary characters, were excellent.  

There was passion.  There was adventure.  There was werewolves.  There was just so many great things about this story.  Not going to give much away but do have to say that in the end, @kboiswas much more merciful that I would have been.

Hope anyone that takes a chance on this story enjoys it as much as I did.

Spirit Wolf is the first shifter novel by kbois, but you would never know that by the wonderful and unique world the author has created for this story.  Reilly and Kellan have been on the run from a vicious, evil pack for 8 years.  Reilly, beautiful in a dress and high heels is a Kappa and Kellan is Reilly's Lambda who must protect his Kappa.  They are suddenly confronted by a power Alpha who demands to see his destined mate, the beautiful and shapely Reilly.  The Alpha gives them two days to report to his pack.  The beautiful young shifter and protector prepare for the worst when they arrive at the pack headquarters.

From there this group takes off on terrifying and dangerous adventure as legendary as any I have ever read.  With their friends and packs who rally to their aid, they challenge an international conspiracy that threatens the lives of all supernatural beings.

The author is one of the best on GA and is ably assisted by a fun team of an editor and beta.  kbois' writing style is compelling and her use of cliffhangers legendary.  She fills her story with interesting twists and turns that will keep you off balance and guessing.  You will also enjoy the funny comments and discussions, if you can break your self away from binging on the story.  This humour filled story will have you laughing, crying, angry and gasping for breath!  I highly recommend this tale! Great reading!

Hold on to your hats and get a seatbelt for your desk chair or whatever you're sitting in!!

An incredible, richly told world of shifters. Toss in some romance, danger, psychotic family members and their associates, and what could possibly happen/go wrong/ or right??

Once you think you've figured it out...guess again!

Read this story

Lovers of the shifter genre will fall for this wonderful tale. 

The author claims she's new to this world of supernatural writing, but expertly crafts this story with guideline-bending alterations from the everyday shifter fiction. With new classifications of these beings, it brings a breath of fresh air for those who desire originality. 

The story includes twists and turns that will have your current or future heart doctor questioning you at the next appointment. There's also passionate scenes that will have readers flocking to take a cold shower. Beneath this is a plot so heart-wrenching and devastating. A warning: one particular chapter left every hair standing. I like a good binge-read, but I had no choice but to disregard that chapter's comment section and immediately proceed to the next chapter. 

A breath-hitching work of art that must be read by all lovers of shifter-creatures. Thanks go to the author, editor, and beta-reader for their efforts. 

For someone who has only fairly recently discovered and become interested in this genre of writing, I loved every word. From beginning to end I was captivated and couldn't wait for the next chapter to be published. Very highly recommended!!

Kbois has tackled the shifter genre and made it her own. From start to finish, each chapter is well thought out and carefully crafted. Each individual character in this story is fully developed so that you feel that you've known them all for a long time.  In a modern world, six shifters are forced to band together to fight a repugnant evil, much like their legendary ancestors did hundreds of years ago. There are some parts that are very difficult to read, but Kbois balances those with sensitivity and thoughtful dialogue. Of course there is intrigue, drama, comedy,  her infamous cliffhangers, and yes, hot, steamy sex! Set aside a long weekend to read this because once you start, you won't want to stop. 

This shifter story is a different kind of one and it is kbois's own creation. The saga of The Sentinels, Sebastian, Reilly, Ben, Zev, Kellan and Hunter trying to right their shifter world for better should be read by all GA readers! You will have laughs, cries (happy and unhappy), heart stopping moments, and excitement all rolled into one story. You will not be disappointed. I wasn't and I read a lot of supernatural stories by #1 top selling authors. So go read this story! You will be pleased as well as intrigued!

I really didn’t want to give this story the 5 stars I gave but unfortunately this format doesn’t allow for 10 stars.   I’ve only recently found ‘kbois’ and I’m hooked beyond words.   I don’t give a lot of reviews but this story, this author,  are in a league all their own.   Honestly one of the best stories I’ve ever read  on gayauthors.   I now get to go back and read everything else in kbois’ library for the first time.   Truly an awesome and riveting read.  

This is a great story. I just couldn't stop reading it. The story was imaginative and so well written! Congratulations on the really fine editing. I'm really looking forward to more stories in this same world to solve some of the intriging "loose ends".  Well done -- and thank you so much!

If you've never read a shifter world story before then you gotta read this one!

Author @kbois draws you into her version of a shifter world where evil things are afoot - wolf pups are going missing and nobody knows where they are!

Love (of all kinds) is interspersed with treachery/betrayal, bravery and corruption all present - you just do not know who are your friends or enemies!

This is one of those stories where if I had come across it now (on completion) then I would have to read every chapter straight away until I finished them all!

P.S. Please read the chapter comments (and join in) as the author @kbois is very active along with her editor @Mrsgnomieand beta reader @Danilo Syrtis. A warning though - you may end up being sent to a corner!

WOW, I'm writing this my first review after reading the 3 books that make Hybrid Journey. I know I should have written this after completing book 1 but I literally couldn't stop my self from devouring the rest of the series in the last few days (Hooray for the story archive) I really can't imagine the work and patience needed to complete such a monumental story. I feel blessed that I got to start reading knowing that the whole story was available. I don't think I could have coped waiting for updates, even sleep was difficult and I found I had to drag myself from the screen to go to bed. I don't know if the term "page turner" is appropriate in this digital age but this was all that and more.

I really have become addicted to the paranormal genre and for a first attempt to create a story in the shifter word this was EPIC. The characters are well rounded and pull you into the story, the world they live in is well crafted and filled with glorious detail. It took me a couple of chapter to get hooked and then I couldn't stop myself from moving to the next instalment. I don't want to go into too much detail as I fell it might spoil the rollercoaster journey you go on as the story progresses but I would recommend this work to everyone whether you a fan of shifters or not. The underlying love story between "mates" and friendships of the exquisitely created ensemble characters is beautiful and heartwarming. 

In conclusion this has been one of my favourite reads of the past few years, my only regret is that the story has ended but I suppose all good thing must come to an end eventually. I really hope we might get some more tales from this intriguing world as I feel a bit lost waking up in the morning knowing another chapter isn't waiting for me.

I look forward to reading more of your stories but I find it hard to believe that this series could be topped. I know I will be reading this one again at some point as I did find my self speed reading  to find out what happened next after those pesky cliffhangers. This has absolutely nothing to do with the writing and everything to do with my impatience to find out what happened to the beloved characters.

I read this first book after the second book which I loved.  This is not my favorite genre and I had started this before and never finished the first chapter.  I again had some difficulty getting through the first chapter but wanted to see the genesis of the Shadow Effect.  In comparing the two books, I think the author's writing skills improved over the the course of this book and were sharp for the second one.  As a bonus, she describes sex scenes really well!

I recommend this book as it is book 1 of the trilogy and I am really looking forward to the third book.

You know, the kind of story that makes you fist-pump when justice is served and leaves a little ache in your chest because you wish you could join the characters for their post-battle bonfire. Or sex. Yeah, there is sex. Well, my friend, consider your craving satisfied.

@kbois shows a knack for taking beloved tropes like werewolves and making them her own. This story  isn't about brooding loners or tortured love triangles. This is a story about pack dynamics—messy, hilarious, and fiercely loyal. It's about discovering your inner strength. This urban fantasy world is so richly detailed, so grounded in its own rules, yet all of it feels effortless. It's very good.

Battles? Check. Villains? Check. Justice? Oh yeah.

Bottom line: If you're in the mood for a story that'll make you snort-laugh one minute, clutch your heart the next, and reach for your blood pressure medication afterwards (I know that's not how it works), this is it. "Spirit Wolves" is the kind of story that sticks with you long after you turn the final page.

I will start with comment what this story isn’t, this story isn’t just “another shifter story”! This story is so much more. @kbois rich imagination brings completely new level of this genre. She has developed incredible convincing world of shifters that we have feeling they are really among us. Characters are realistic but strong, independent and, simply, irresistible. Relationships between them are a lot of human-like, although hierarchy among shifters is important, author doesn’t fall in a trap of too much submissive relations which can be really exhausting at some authors.

@kbois world brings some new legends and myths, not being shallow but, at the same time, not losing in some metaphysical and not understandable sphere. This story is intelligent fun!

I’ve been postponed reading this story for some time due to my skepticism regarding the genre. That was huge mistake, I recommend it with pleasure!

This is a truly fantastic story from @kbois.

It is her version of the shifter world. We are treated to an amazing story that is full of emotion. We have six wolves who are brought together by a mysterious force.

We follow there adventures as they deal with missing pups, messed up families and corrupt councils. This truly rollercoaster of an adventure will bring happiness, sadness and plenty of cliffhangers.

A thoroughly enjoyable read that comes highly recommended.
