A great chapter with interesting times ahead by all accounts!?!? Not a cliffy by name but almost a cliffy by the nature that's is being dangled in front of us roflol You know how "we" collectively "Love" a well placed, executed to best potential cliffiy with the potential for more to be thrown in at short notice for the authors enjoyment and "our" demented and outraged indignance! Torture!!! It's foul, demeaning, and undeserved torture at your behest dear author on your studious, undemanding (lol a stretch I know) loyal readers who's sole fault is to love your creative musings a little to much and to this your loathing for us mere mortals is shown by your recklessness and puerile wild abandon that causes you to use these bedeviled means of controlling us in written form. Lashes of the "cat o' " cleaned with Seasalter water would be easier to receive and quicker to recover from than these - can I bare to utter it again ???? These CLIFFIES that hang like the swords of damaclese over our lowly heads. Please try to be frugal in their usage oh lord of the quill & 'puter! We beseige thy! OK any chance if the next chapter dropping soon????????? ROFLMAO

A great read so far, the back story is set cincintly, our protagonist hits the ground running and the main cast of close knit characters come into play, relationships are developing, mental health issues play a significant part running through it so far and this can lead us in many directsion & situations n these can be good or bad ones. Strong story lines an world building make it a very engaging and a thought provoking but always each chapter is a highly charged read that you don't want to put down. M-I-L from hell who just can't take a hint or a detachment of Marines as a hint either!?!?!?!. If you asked him my man would say the same about my "alleged Mother" personally I think I was swapped at birth whilst still in the hospital!?!? My real parents are rich aristcrats or early tech pioneers along the B.Gates lines not the retired nurse - single parent (not that that is a bad circumstance just one of her choice!!) Who for the last few years has seemed to be more akin to an 87 yr old Toddler with the appropriate temper tantrums !! All true too. We're waiting to get married until she either ends up in a home or pops her clogs cos she'd ruin our wedding otherwise! Sad but true!!

An informative, scary and a humanising chapter. The stuff of nightmares if I'm honest. But its the perspective it gives on the human races chances outside of the state of Kentucky that informs us and binds them further. Well that's (the perspective) the true horror of this chapter and that shows what our expanding band of survivors is truly up against! I hope they meet others in larger groups in perhaps fortified compounds or farms that could be fortified soon if they are to be humanities new "founding mothers and fathers". A "breeding" programme would have to be considered at some point surely?????? (no breeder jokes I'm trying to be serious!! Lol) Thank you! Loved it! Only thing from my point was I found it hard to read! I know it was like it was hand written in a journal but the fonts it's a bugger in smaller size like reading it on a phone as I do and others might too!?!?!

It could be seen that to Alfie in his timeline that Robert is the "apparition". Alfie can communucate, comprehend, change lanugues and he is still "living" through a terrible war in a foreign land. He is far more than a one dimensional ghost with a fixed route to walk and a phrase or words to repeat on a loop of movement and speech. It almost seems like two timeliness are crossing through the farmhouse "Ferme Latouche" and rather than either being a "ghost" both are very much alive but in different timeliness!?!? If this is the case to what extent can these men physically interact!? Could Robert pass cigarettes bought today to Alfie? Is it possible??? Could their finger tips brush and be felt & lets cut to the "nitty gritty" can either do the "downward dog" for the others pleasure? Lol yup trust me to lower the tone!!!!!!! 😉😜🤣🤣😇😍

In the early days of CITC it was the social workers that had access to funds and they would give patients £1000 in cash to go buy everything needed for their brand new flat (mid 1980's money went further back in the day lol) but they were the only one surprised when they blew it on new electric guitars or drugs etc etc omg the stories!! Lol set up to fail because the money was in the wrong section of the larger equation as one example!! Most of the hospital was pyschio-geriatric.

Three of my Immediate family are senior psychiatric nurses, one retired, one community based! One who works with a small group of patients who have been sectioned by the Secretary of State for Scotland basically one level down from "Carstairs" which is Scotlands version of "Broadmoor -secure, state, psychiatric hospital. As a child my mother worked in the same hospital that my younger brother is now a senior charge nurse at (secure unit) and we grew up in staff accommodation across the road from this sprawling 70-100 acres victorian hospital and we played in the grounds daily and grew up very accepting (as did the local community) of people with various mental health issues and conditions. Community mental health nurses predominantly agree that without a lot more funding "care in the community" was founded to fail! (In Scotland - my only personal reference point - (sister in law))

What happened to the solicitor?????? Cooper was meant to pick him up from his hotel n drive him up for the event!? Obviously plans changed, but there's been no mention of him!?

It was, after 6 plus years he's totally institutionalised and not having the life skills to try and fend for himself, not to mention his psychological/mental health issues with or without the need for medication to keep him in an even keel and keep his anxiety at bay so he can be a low to mid level functioning "full member of society" he's scared of his own shadow and then some!

Lived there in West London for 9 years n yes prerty dirty in places! I meant it might be a countryside cruising carpark - I live on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire n there are lots of cruising & dogging cars parks 🤪🤪🤪🤪
