He’s a sweet, intelligent, presumably cute, if gullible guy with a broken heart and a demoness for an older sister. Of course we’re interested in him! Actually, since Andrew doesn’t remember Alfie and there doesn’t appear to be any photographic evidence of a relationship, maybe Alfie is delightfully delusional and imagined the whole thing. Wouldn’t that be a hoot!

A Japanese dragon, innnnnnteresting. Now a fairy dragon, too. (Sorry, couldn’t help the D&D reference.) With Oberon as his other half, will he be the savior myth suggests he is?

Whew! You had me holding my breath up until the end of the chapter, Moz. I was convinced this was all a dream and Andrew would wake up to a notification Aubrey and Tom were married. Thank goodness Landon showed up in hysterics or I’d still be anticipating that eventuality. Not because of the comic relief or anything, but because it proved how symbiotic Andrew and Aubrey’s relationship is. Aubrey holds him accountable and keeps him grounded; Andrew keeps him from becoming mired down in the details and encourages his spontaneity. They meet somewhere in the middle, hovering on just this side of wonderful. I’m hedging my bets on Andrew’s secret meeting being about a “real” wedding ceremony their families can attend, followed by a honeymoon goodwill mission to Africa. It’s the perfect beginning to their new life together, not to mention an altruistic way of kickstarting the foundation. I’m a little disappointed but not surprised that Alfie saw what Katbox did as a kindness to him, instead of the act of a dangerous sociopath that it was. He truly is a gentle soul. If you get stuck for something to write, Alfie finding the love he deserves is a story I’d gobble up in a heartbeat. Throw in a cameo by Andrew and Aubrey, with Katbox reprising her role as a well-meaning villain (and Alfie realizing it’s always about her, not him), and you have another hit on your hands! Hehe. All in all, you done good, Moz. The final chapter is something I both crave and dread because, while I need to know how this beautiful story ends, I don’t want it to.

Methinks Hank doth protest too much. In order to keep justifying staying angry — about Chase, about the proposal, about the kiss, about their relationship being over — and thus avoid dealing with unwanted and unresolved emotions — y’know, like still being in love with Chase — Hank basically repeats their same speech ad nauseam. So much so that I believe he’s trying to convince himself it’s the truth. He shouldn’t still love Chase but he does. He shouldn’t want Chase to still love him, yet he can’t contain his jealousy at the thought of Chase moving on and being with Dawson. He shouldn’t second guess this new relationship with Kevin but it doesn’t feel as right as what he had with Chase. He shouldn’t want to believe what Chase said happened that night, he can’t have been wrong, but there’s a little voice whispering in the back of his mind that he made a mistake. He should want to move on . . . but he can’t. To me, Hank agreeing to Kevin’s invitation to go away for the weekend is his last attempt to convince himself this is what he wants. Or reinforce that he doesn’t want Chase. He does though, and it scares him. It’s driving him crazy. Why else would he, a rational guy, fly off the handle so quickly and so often? Hank keeps trying to burn that bridge in the hopes that Chase will finally let him go, but that in itself tells him how much power Chase has over him. And that’s crazy, because he’s the guy who should be in control, who should be standing strong on his own. Chase should be lost, not Hank. So why is it the opposite? Insecurity and confusion are not emotions Hank has had to handle since his mom’s affair broke up his family. It’s making him desperate. In the interest of wrapping this up, I’ll say this: Hank may think this is what Chase wants but, in reality, it’s what Hank needs to think. When he hesitates, the cracks in his resolve begin to show and that scares him enough that he’ll do just about anything to convince himself otherwise. That includes using and/or being used by Kevin.

Tanoshii desu ne! Faerie magic is often fickle and double-edged like a wish coming true but with a twist. Mixed with blood magic, I can only imagine what unseen power was woven into the young man’s being. Oberon pulled from growth, rebirth, and longevity — all touch stones of immortality. Curiouser and curiouser. Can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings!

Whatever danger the stranger was facing, they had chosen the wrong faerie to fuck with. If I wasn’t already hooked, this line alone reeled me in. I cackled and that was it — you had me.

It’s going to be exciting to watch Troy and Grant’s relationship evolve and grow from hand jobs to a honeymoon, or that’s my hope anyway. Here’s hoping the gay-for-Troy duo and their wives don’t accidentally cock it up.

Drew had an inferiority complex where Andrew was concerned, or that’s my take on it. He was forever trying to fill the quarterback’s shoes and live up to the ghost of a famous heart breaker. If he’d only taken a step back and realized Joel didn’t compare him to Andrew and their relationship meant as much, if not more, than what those two had. Joel married him, not Andrew. He loved Joel but his jealousy of Andrew became more important.

Well, that certainly gave me a jolt. Kat’s plan backfired because she underestimated Aubrey’s sense of duty. He wasn’t in it for Andrew or himself; he was in it to help those kids. The irony is that Alfie could’ve been one of them had she not set a match to that particular bridge. Something also tells me Alfie won’t be too happy about being the reason behind Amat’s little crusade — she took the choice out of his hands, the same as Andrew did, and made him a pawn. Drew, well, he’s barely half the man — and name — Andrew is. Of course his pettiness won out and ruined a perfectly good marriage. He could’ve been happy if he left well enough alone. Joel deserved better than that. Speaking of him, Joel was right: Andrew really has grown. He didn’t put himself first — like Aubrey, he was in it for the children. He also can’t hide from his true feelings about Aubrey either. He had to find out if he’d been used by the writer, pointedly giving himself a taste of what many of his conquests must have felt, but more importantly, I think he did it to prove to his affection (maybe love) for Aubrey was justified, that Aubrey felt the same. Even if Andrew and a rebounding Joel shack up, the latter is well aware of where Andrew’s bear lies and I bet he’ll do his best to point the quarterback in the direction he needs to go. The bad publicity is salvageable and, in actuality, may turn out to be a good thing because the truth will shine that much brighter a spotlight on the foundation when Aubrey’s genuine article is published. The media shit storm that follows will paint a very different picture of the situation and will allow everyone’s eyes to focus on the reason the Foundation was formed in the first place: to help children in need. As for Andrew and Aubrey, their relationship is also salvageable, I think. Andrew may want to forget about the writer but he won’t be able to, especially when Aubrey comes knocking after Tom’s involvement is revealed. Even if Tom waits until they’re at their wedding reception (or, I’m still hoping, the Foundation gala) to gloat about it, it’ll happen and Aubrey’s first thought will be of Andrew. Hopefully his second thought will be of decking Tom and he’ll hopefully follow through, then walk out and go tackle the quarterback he truly loves. So close to the end zone, Moz! Go for a touchdown . . . or some such football reference.

I KNEW IT! Also, Kat is truly a sociopath — in fact, a classic narcissist. Even loving her brother is somehow all about her. Even avenging her brother’s attempted suicide is nothing more than a power play, one that’s going to affect not only Andrew but the deserving recipients of his foundation. Aubrey as well. Then again, Aubrey is another of her playthings. I feel for Alfie. He seems like such a gentle soul, possibly too trusting and kind for his own good, and I don’t know how he’s supposed to feel about this revenge. He doesn’t seem to have a vindictive bone in his body. The only connection I can think of between what happened to Alfie and how it will ruin Andrew is if the article exposes the kid’s suicide attempt after being chewed up and spit out by the quarterback. It’s damning evidence in the eyes of social media, and popularity rules football as much as a player’s talent. Without a career and without Aubrey, it’s Andrew who may need to be under suicide watch. I really hope Aubrey is somehow able to salvage what’s left of Andrew’s reputation, not to mention their relationship. Tom’s involvement will come out. He’s too much of an egotist not to gloat. I hope he chokes on his own vomit after Prince chomps on his balls. I also hope it’s enough to snap Aubrey out of his delusion. How long do we have to wait for the next chapter, Moz? Huh? Huh?

It seems to me the difference between the John and Chase is that John actually cheated on Kevin, whereas Chase kissed some random dude. The other couples seem to get that a kiss isn’t the apocalyptic cataclysm Hank is making it out to be. Carlos may take exception to the circumstances surrounding how Chase arrived in that bathroom stall, namely how he could make out with another man after turning down Hank’s proposal. That’s the impression I get anyway.

You know, after digesting the comments about Hank and Chase’s mutual friends, I have to wonder how they’ll react to a relationship between Hank and Kevin. Other than possibly Carlos, I can’t imagine they’d see it as healthy. Or fair for that matter. It’s only been maybe two months or so at this point, which is a pretty quick turnaround time after a breakup. The pair could be finding much needed comfort in one another’s arms but that alone isn’t a healthy baseline. They were both in the same boat as spurned lovers go, sure, but like Gary mentioned, you don’t poach your friend’s ex-boyfriend. So, maybe there’s more to Hank’s isolation than just depression and/or Kevin’s influence. Yet another layer of scar tissue protecting Hank’s heart. Or, more likely, this is me looking for more reasons not to disapprove of their relationship.

Could’ve been as simple as wanting to make Chase as jealous of Kevin as Hank was of Dawson. When his stubborn refusal to see reason was challenged, when his assumptions were dissected, he lashed out reflexively every time. Given Hank’s last meltdown in the park, it demonstrates a pattern and is a motive he’d have before and after hearing Chase’s side of the story. Hank did make his bed — and he crawled in and pulled the covers over his head where Chase was concerned. Hell, where his own situation is concerned for that matter. He’s absolutely stuck, you’re right. He’s paralyzed by what happened that first night. It’s like he’s still holed up in the apartment waiting for Chase to come home and replaying the scenarios he imagined of Chase fucking another man over and over again. What he imagined was so much worse than the reality, but he can’t differentiate between the two. The man needs a wake up call. If Chase’s explanation didn’t do the trick, then maybe his parting words — however poorly received — will pull Hank’s focus back to the present. Or even the future. This most recent confrontation left them both shaken, that’s for sure. We won’t know how long Hank stood there on the pavement or what happened after that until next Monday . . . unless you take pity on us and post early?

I don’t hate Hank; it’s his choices so far that I hate. What I feel for Hank is disappointment more than anything else, disappointment and a little pity.
