Just finished reading this in one go despite having other important things to do - the story just drew me in! It felt a bit like a thoroughly entertaining gay version of Rivers of London (minus the nerdy architectural deep-dives) and I really enjoyed the plot and the characters. If you like suspense, romance and a bit of the mystical, read on, but be warned that you will yearn for a sequel afterwards - I know I do!

Grey is very intriguing. Why did he leave the pack? Will someone come looking for him? Are all werewolf packs as isolated as his seems to have been? With a few changes (the supernatural stuff + iPod) he could be a runaway from some religious group, the Amish, etc. Whatever the reasons he left the pack may be, he does seem to have a good head on his shoulders:Anyone who is able to ask for help while willing to take what work is available to earn a living has my respect! I am also curious how (if he does end up getting involved) he will help with the police corruption situation. And of course there is Dave. Anyway, looking forward to learning more in chapters to come! 🙂

I am a bit torn on this chapter. It is well written and all and I enjoyed the dramatic moments as well as Elijah wreaking havoc as Kasar's double! 🥰 Then I was somewhat uneasy when it came to the divine intervention. I am not overly fond of that kind of plot device, but in this case it worked well. 👍 So what was my disappointment? In part 1 of Hybrid Journey much is made of the Sentinels and their special synergy and the way they fight so well together as a team, etc. I loved that idea and the way the characters resembled the old painting, etc. Also the idea of Kappa and Lambda roles in a pack, etc. Now, I know Caleb and Asa are the main characters in this story, but to have an epic battle where (at least the way I read it?) you can replace all the characters that make up the current incarnation of the sentinels with 'normal' individuals (aka where Sebastian is 'just' a powerful alpha and Reilly 'just' his mate, etc.) without changing the outcome of the battle... To me, that was sort of a let-down. There, I said it. I guess now is where I get my head bitten off...

Not a boxer, btw. A continental bulldog. If you saw the whole dog you'd know at once: Way shorter legs than a boxer! 😉 When people asked 'Is that a boxer?', I sometimes joked 'came with a tuning kit, too'. 🤣

In this part of the saga? Reading this felt like it might have to wait till the next one. Either way, I am looking forward to reading that. Eventually.

Personally, I do not see much of a difference between, say, religious traditionalists on one side telling me I need to be straight, live a monogamous life, carry on the family name, traditions and all that and on the other side progressive activist types telling me I need to be in-your-face about my sexuality and be casual about nudity, must not cling to supposedly outmoded stuff like monogamy, etc. More often than not, both sides seem to me to care more about enforcing conformity to their point of view than about the actual subject matter being enforced. I'd much rather everyone lives their lives their own way.

AFAIK, in the UK (it is similar in other Common Law jurisdictions), the word lawyer would pretty much just be an umbrella-term for legal practitioners. Solicitor is one type of lawyer, barrister would be another - there are other types as well. From my understanding, a very rough distinction between a solicitor and a barrister would be that a solicitor is who you go to if you need legal advice. A solicitor provides legal advice, prepares a case, manages the paperwork, etc. A barrister, meanwhile, would typically be instructed by a solicitor and then represent a client during proceedings in court.
