  10. Jeez! I never thought that I would be telling Ty Happy Birthday ... much less sending him such a personal wish. Ty, you are truly an inspiration. After finally finding the balls to start posting, I can only tell you that YOU are one of the main reasons I started writing myself. One of the very first stories I found on the Net was Storm Front. I printed the whole damn thing out and continue to print out all new chapters. Those of you who have read know I'm talking reams of paper and dozens of ink cartridges! Ty has the ability to take the reader from neutral to full speed up the emotional ramp to a glorious high and then plunge him into an unbelieveable low. My God! I don't want to swell Ty's head too much, but it was his writing that inspired me to really search for more. It was then that I found Comicality's story Gone from Daylight. That was the clincher and I started to write. The Watchers was the result and is my best known work. If it hadn't been for Ty's captivating story, I never would have searched and never would have written. Ty, happy birthday, belatedly, but happy birthday. I am so glad that you have joined Gay Writers. I feel as though I am in the midst of the really true greats in my book ... and you are at the top of the list. Jevic
  11. An author lives for feedback ... good and bad ... especially an author that freely shares ... but please remember, creativity is not something that can be forced. It is something that is to be nurtured, encouraged and loved. Comicality has written a story that has captured my imagination as well as yours. Additional chapters will come as the creative writing spirit descends on Com ... In the mean time, we can offer praise for what has been written and words of encouragement for what is to come. Remember ... creativity is to be praised ... never rushed. I may sound like a broken record ... but this is truth in fact. The reality that we are wrapped up in the plot is testament to the fact that what has been written is truly wonderful ... and what is to come will be like savoring the next bite of an exquisite mouthwatering steak ... not gulped, but consumed with each slow, tantalizing, delicious chew ...
  12. I guess we all get "it" from time to time. I've tried many different things, but I think Ty hit the nail on the head. Music. I have a few favorite CDs that always pull the emotional side of me, if you will, to the forefront and at the same time, pushes the analytical side of thinking to the background. I kick back and listen to some music and clear my head. Then I come back and read what I've already written. I back up sometimes as many at 30 pages and read. That usually puts me back on course, back in touch with the characters and back in touch with the plot. You know the old saying ... you can't see the forest for the trees ... so by reading what you've already written, you're looking at the whole forest. Once you've done that, seeing the next tree along the path is easy. Jevic
  13. Davin is absolutely the BEST editor I know. Hehehe ... he's the only editor I know! And he edits all my work. The thing about Davin is, he never wants any credit. His satisfaction comes from doing an impeccable job. You're the best, Dav. Thanks!
