Seems you've gotten just about everything as per good advice. The other thing I would suggest, if this is a cold area: For your trunk: Put a THICK WARM blanket in the trunk in case you get stranded. Get a couple of flares... So you can be seen in case it is night time or a blinding snow Double check your spare tire once a month during the winter. They have a tendancy to go partially flat in the winter months. 1 big bag of kitty litter. For traction in case you get stuck. Get a cell phone from the local police department. They're usually free, and will only dial 911 in case of an emergency. As it has been said already, drive slower. If you find yourself in a situation where you have to stop faster than you would like, putt the engine in neutral, or taking it out of gear (stick shift) and hitting the breaks will slow you faster than if you just pump the breaks. When the engine is in gear, you are fighting against it. You'll maintain a lot more control in your 'unexpected' stop when the engine isn't still trying to push the car forward. One last thing... even if you're doing great, sometimes it's the idiot sliding into the ass of your car that can cause the problem. Definately keep an eye on cars approaching from behind when you're sitting idle at a stop light/sign. If you see they are going to hit you, same as above. Take the car out of gear, be ready to hit the breaks and turn the wheel into the curb. It'll help you keep from being pushed out into traffic. If you are hit hard enough, the butt of your car will usually go into traffic instead the front. Take care out there!

LOL! I meant victims in a good sense! Victims is what we are when we read the last sentence of the chapter and we're left flailing about with the cliff hanger. As I stated in my email to you, "You are a BAD MAN!" lol When I said written 'rough' I didn't mean to insinuate that your story was a rough read. Just a couple small things to tend to. Now... where's my next chapter Goat!

Well.. typos.. grammar, rewrites aside... I liked it! You can have the worst story written well and never like it. You can have the best story... written... roughly... and yeah... I'd read it. By the way... those were spoiler stuffs lol... I did't want to ruin it for the other victims! Errr.. readers.

Reflections in the Light of Darkness

If you haven't read this.... you need to. It is really great work! The story be it based on LOTR or not, could easily be changed and stand alone. It's indepth and wonderful. READ IT! -
"OOO OOO OOO!" Heheheh ! Yes that is the actual sound I made when I saw this post... So.... I"m going to post my comments as I read! Alrighty, got the music going, got the incense going. I have the rest of what I need and some lovely orange air freshener! Time to begin! YES! I like Steve's parents WHAT! WTF is this!-- Steve filled me in on his plan, finished by rubbing his hands together, vengeance on his mind. I told him "Yeah, sounds like a plan. That would sure solve our problems. I'm in." LOL See... now that is just not right! Ohhhh you are a right bastard!!! I can't believe you left me hanging again! I loved it Goat! You absolutely slay me.

I left a review earlier today on the story itself. It's hard for me to say much yet until I get through another chapter, but I like it. It's intriguing and I'm curious to see where you're going with it! Good stuff!

Very nice. Though I wonder what will happen to this boy's voice once he hits puberty.

[Shadowgod] Living in Surreality
DarkShadow replied to shadowgod's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
My only regret is that I didn't read this chapter sooner! Here is what I posted as the review: Woah!!! What a shit storm of unfortunate events! It's palpable and I love it! Just when I was getting ready to hate Valerie, you went and made her a good person again. I'm finding a hard time lining up my sights on just who is the victim here, and who is the assailant! I have to say, these three people are NOT having a good day!! Riveting! Can't wait for the next chapter! -
I suppose my stand is this. We know there are eyes on our work. We know people are reading. I don't think it's out of bounds to say 'hey! Is anyone reading this?' at the bottom of a submitted chapter. This is something we are giving to people at only the price of their time and ours. I don't feel any guilt asking for feedback at the bottom of a posted chapter. Every 4 or 5 chapters I goad them into posting a thirty second reply.(from nifty) I need the critique. I need to know what I can do to become better at what I love doing. I try to make every chapter I write better than the last. I don't consider myself the next Tolkien or Grisham. But... it is something to aspire to. Without feedback, how can we ever become more than we are?

That is absolutely aweful Mirage. My heart goes out to you. My grandfather died of lung cancer. He too, was a smoker. We're addicted. We're caught in the trap of withdrawal and what's easier to do. It's easier to go and buy that pack of smokes from around the corner than to suffer through and just stop. I have no delusions of immortality. I don't know what will make me worm's meat. It's an insideous circle of self destruction we see but don't seem able to avoid. We know it causes cancer and yet we light up one right after the other. I really do have the 'patch'. And I know one day soon... I'm going to quit. I keep telling myself it's too expensive a habit. (I have so many vices already) I could shed one and not suffer any loss of joy in my life. It tastes like shit... it stinks... and it's killing me. So why light up the next cigarette... well... because I'm addicted. I NEED it. The stresses of life are never ending, and so we use them to bolster our habit as well. Quitting isn't easy, and gods help the cannon fodder of my moods when that day comes. This though... takes me one step closer to calling it quits.

[NickolasJames8] The Christmas Letter

You know... just because there aren't a lot of words doesn't mean it's incomplete or lacking in any way. I thought the characters were well rounded. You built them with their actions and not a lot of fluff. To me, it was just as real if not more so. So... don't worry about the kb's. Screw the kb's It's perfect as it is. -
Thanks much Goat! It's always great to get the thumbs up from you. WHOOPS! My editor told me about that and I thought I had them all fixed. I found that I missed a BUNCH! They're corrected now. Thank you for finding that! I suppose it would be difficult for dead people to raise a child. The grocery bill would definately be smaller!

I sent you a PM, but now that I've found this here... I'll post my well wishes! Happy Birthday!!!

I usually have a smart ass remark to those who say 'you should quit smoking'. Yes... I'm one of them evil smokers. I want to quit, and some day I will. My usual response.. Yes... I've tried the patch, but I couldn't keep the damn thing lit. My other stock reply... I'll puff this cigarette, you suck on the tailpipe of your car. Now.. let's see which of us drops dead first. If you're that damned concerned about clean air... I guess you'll be buying a bicycle now won't ya! Yeah... I'm a bitch lol

You made me cry Nick. It was simply wonderful. That you are 15 and write this well just baffles me. You've got a hell of a gift. I'll be reading more of your work soon! One correction and of course it is incredibly minor. A simple typo One I make all the time. and that no matter what she did, he
