    Chapter 34

Glad you liked the chapter! Oh boy, cuteness overload! Thanks for commenting, guys!!
  2. Allow me to correct myself... I fixed it! I'm not. There are about twenty beverage coolers at the store I work at. All the non-soda options couldn't even fill two of them. I only drink water at work since the AC gets cut when the store closes and doesn't turn back on until an hour before opening. Talk about a sauna...
  3. Here in Kentucky, summer is vicious! Temperatures often reach 90 degrees or higher, and the humidity is always somewhere between 50% and 1,000% with very little breeze. At times, it feels like your breathing gasping on an exhaust pipe. I've adapted my wardrobe for the summer months (March through November). Lots of linen for formal and casual wear. Light, short-sleeve button downs are a must. Flip flops all day, every day. And... SHORTS! Anyone caught wearing jeans in this heat is a dead man! If you insist on dressing like a true Kentuckian, a ball-cap is an acceptable choice. But I swear, you wear your camouflage fishing cap into my grocery store, consider yourself judged. That's eastern Kentucky, and us western Kentuckians have some class... If... I must be away from my precious air conditioning, I keep it moving. Don't stand and talk, the sun will start staring at you. Value every breeze that smacks you in the face. Shade is a godsend. Keep the cigarette smoking to a minimum. If you don't have a tumbler filled with either water or Mountain Dew, you might as well call an ambulance. I also use my neck-mask-gaiter thingies as headbands, mostly as a stylish accessory, but it keeps the sweat out of my eyes. Hope this helps!
  4. I think I got our interpretations of the enforcer role mixed up. I write mine as the enforcer acting as a "general" of sorts for the alpha/pack, planning attack strategies and whatnot. Wait! He has brain cells?!
  5. I'm adding it to my next chapter. Just need to find a good place for it... Edit: @Myr *cough* title *cough* Edit 2.0: 👍
  6. Man! Nick really is as dumb as a sack of rocks. I'm sure he was informed that Mike was proverbially "bear kindred" from the encounter at the Silver Bullet. If he can't put two and two together to find four, I have high hopes for the turn-out of this battle. I'm calling it! Gunnar's secret and last-ditch maneuver: the Jeep explodes with a hidden bomb. Thomas will be furious later, considering he drove it to get beer.
  7. Thanks, George!!

    Chapter 34

I helped a friend of mine come out a long time ago and when he was getting ready for his first date, this was came out of my mouth. He dated a few ladies before and couldn't figure out how men "worked" in the dating world. Perfume turns into cologne, purses become wallets, and lingerie turns into jockstraps. Easy peasy, lemon squeezie!
  9. Thanks, Gary!

    Chapter 34

I love one word responses! Thanks so much, JR!
  13. Whoops! I missed my own GAnniversary last week... If I can just spout some words, joining this website has been a freakin' blast! I found a creative outlet and it's been a ride. I found a community of wonderful people that treasure the written word as much as I do. I found a place to call home. I can't stop. This website has ducktaped my foot to the gas pedal, and there are a lot of the community members who had a hand in laying down a strip. I asked to learn to be a better writer and several have stepped forward to assist me. Looking back at my very first chapter, I see how far I've come. The results encourage me to further my skills, as do the reactions and comments. This site has given me hope. I thought, for a very long time, that I would be stuck in a retail job until the day I died. Writing became a hobby, and now I want it to be more. I want more. Jesus, it's so crazy for me to type that, to say that! This site has given me a goal, and that's to make writing my job. Even coming out of my fingertips, it still feels crazy, but it's now a goal. Not a dream, a freakin' goal! It's been several years since I had one. Last one I had was in college. I told myself I will be in Kentucky Wesleyan College's Greek Life Hall of Fame, and I did it. Before that, I made Eagle Scout at the age of sixteen. Now life has put a challenge before me. I will win. It's not often I become motivated, but I'm not afraid of dedication. It's my drug and no amount of rehab will fix me. I get high on dedication and I'm ready for another snort. Fork it, give me a whole line! Give me a pouch, I'll line it up with my old library card. Have I beaten the dead horse too much? Nah, I don't think so. Give me a dufflebag of dedication and I'll be happy for a while. Look at me; I'm a junkie pointing at everyone saying, "You'll see! Some day, I'll make it big!" But it's strange at the same time. I don't feel like that person. I don't resonate with the person who's following their dream, despite insurmountable odds. I've watched Youtubers become famous during my lifetime. I went to college with people who have gone to play for the NFL. It's these people I want to be beside. They've put in the time, hard work, sweat, and effort. I don't want a miracle that forces me to magically learn how to mishandle money and commit to terrible decisions that may or may not refer to my druggie paragraph above. I want to earn it. And I'll start with GA. I've got a long way before I am comfortable in making a more firm declaration, but I want to rise up. The title of Promising Author sounds pretty nice, and it'll sound even better in a couple of years. Admins, be warned. I'm a junkie addicted to dedication, and I got an empty dufflebag.

    Chapter 34

I'm just so happy everyone is loving this relationship! Of course you can call an alpha cute. I'm pretty sure you might have beaten Kieran to the punch though... Patch, I know better than to separate you and your favorite coupling. You've been on my writing adventure since the beginning and I can't say enough about your kind words. I've grown a lot this past year as a writer and you're one of the many that deserve thanks and praise.

    Chapter 34

Oh... neat! I'll go change that. C'mon, Kieran, get your stuff together... Thank you so much!!!
  16. I have such mixed feelings with this chapter! Mike's turning was fantastic, but on the flipside, we have Kane's troops inbound and our trio have no clue! We'lre going to need a speedy installment...

    Chapter 34

Gotta keep my readers on their toes! Glad you liked the chapter!
  18. One interview down, two more to go! I wonder when Vincent will be able to sit down and relax a bit...
  19. I won't stop you from rereading . That panda is absolutely adorable, at least until lightning shoots from his paws...

    Chapter 44

I'm excited for the meeting to come. My nerves have been soothed with this lady. She's done a little bit of research into human culture and that shows. Essell could have been a bit nicer about it, but he's needed a kick in the tushie for a while now, at least in my opinion.

    Chapter 34

I'm glad you loved it! I was hesitant on the full chapter for the new couple, but I think it's a nice break from Cyn and Shea. Let's just hope Arric doesn't go too soft, he still needs to be the hard-ass at times for the pack's sake.

    Chapter 34

I don't think that's the only thing you're anticipating, Danners... I won't lie, this pairing was completely unplanned and I'm flying by the seat of my britches here. There was a whole other intention for their time together, but I think this might be a little bit better. It might be a tie between which couple is more "adorkable."

    Chapter 34

Man, today is just weird! Sitting in the passenger seat of Arric’s pitch black GMC Sierra, Kieran became wary of the alpha’s thin smile. He’s been like this since we left his place. Must be pretty happy about the mission’s progress… or whatever food we’re getting. “Say, Alpha. Where are you heading? We’ve been on the road for a bit.” “Nowhere special. Just a little place I go to about once a month. Human owned, no pack members in sight.” Still holding onto the grin, Arric breathed in deeply
  24. That's what I thought. I squealed in both excitement and fright when you said you've been there. "Oh, boy. I didn't do too much research on that... "
  25. I did a little research involving that area, considering I've never been to Texas. I hope I'm getting the general concept of First Mondays correct! I just did a search, and yep, too young to remember. Commercial was chuckle-worthy. Always glad to see your comments, Patch. I'm even happier knowing my story is a little paradise from everyday life! Nope. Way, way back in chapter four of Love in the Shadows, Vincent told Mason his family went to the services for the Gods of Luck, Love, and Order before they passed. I haven't really put much thought into this concept as an author, but I suppose this is an alternate-Earth story with another predominant set of religious deities. I'll need to do some background work on how I want to interpret their worship... I totally get your concerns, but honestly, that's us Kentuckians for you. We're a little too open for our own good. It's either complete open honesty, or we shut ourselves due to instant distrust. When I envisioned Bartlett and Ashford, I instantly thought of Tic Tac when coming up with nicknames/terms of endearment. There were other names I wanted to use for Ashford, but they've been used too many times for my liking, so I fell in love with using "Hoss." I do apologizing for the late posting. My writing has slowed down since I'm fighting my ADHD. I've been bingeing the new Bo Burnham special on repeat, dissecting every tiny detail and its meaning. I think I'm back on a true writing kick, and I'm going full steam ahead! I got nothing, so here's a panda GIF.
