Looks like Bouncer needs some training. Great comical moment and it was placed perfectly. The ending has me waiting in anticipation. I love a good em-dash, and using it as a cliffhanger of sorts is just pure evil... Did Essell's thoughts get interrupted, or are we continuing the thought going into the next chapter? Cia, I hope your hand goes through a speedy recovery! I was almost done writing my comment, but I'm glad I Ctrl+C'd my work when I refreshed the page. This comment is really, really funny to me!

Chapter 18: Final Fulfillment

You keep one-uping yourself with these comments! A wonderfully elegant recap @Philippe! -
Is it Wednesday? I think it is! Which means it's time for... 🎶 Aaaaaaaask An Author! 🎶 Oh, boy! I hope speech-to-text capabilities don't advance any time soon, because that was just awful! My husband's looking at me like I'm a crazy person! Anyway, we have another three questions for one of GA's authors! • • • • • Solitude of the Photo C.T. Piatt The lens of the camera is shallow. It sees colour and shape. It gives the illusion of motion in two dimensions. It draws the light from the dark. In that space between lens and subject, between picture and reality, lies solitude. Jonah lived in that solitude, content within its embrace. The descriptions and details really bring this story to life and made it a riveting read. Are you a photographer or artist yourself? I dabble in photography, have a decent camera and a couple of lenses - well it was decent when I bought it 10 years ago. I've tried painting/drawing but I can't get my body to create what I see in my mind. Photography is simpler to achieve that. I do create in other ways - mostly sewing (from scratch and repurposing) and jewellery. I know I can 'see' what I want to create. And I want my words to paint what I see so others can see it too. I'm pleased to hear that I achieved that. All the stories you have posted on GA are short stories. Do you have any longer work or plans for longer stories? I do have longer stories in the works, but they seem to just keep growing and I never find 'The End'. It's easier for me to write shorter and finish. Plus there is always another story jumping around in my head demanding some attention. Currently with the change in the world I have ended up with employment that takes up most of my time (too much of my time) and my hobbies are suffering. I know I need to achieve a better work/life balance - maybe this will kick my butt into doing more for me. What was your inspiration for this story? I was once that photographer - taking photos of cars racing around the track. But I was there with my family and friends, all of whom took part as drivers. Except me. I can't stand just being a spectator so I took up the camera to be active and to make memories. One such event 'Jonah' started talking to me. The story was born that night after everyone else had gone to bed. • • • • • I love the answer to the first question! I have a soft spot for a story that takes it time to paint every emotion, every movement, and every single second in the world. If you liked this interview, make sure to go read the story (link in the story title). After that, go check out @C.T. Piatt's other works (link in the author's name under the title)! Don't forget to send me some questions! Anybody can send me questions about any author's story! I'll see y'all next month!

Chapter 18: Final Fulfillment
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 18: Final Fulfillment
The author knows things... Snyder's rumor is disgusting, but before Kaplan meeting Cyrus, we can see where it was created. Since Kaplan's introduction to NYSP, he's been at Tierney's hip. Thanks for commenting, doc! It was high time those two finished the deed! Thanks for commenting, mikedup! -
Thanks for commenting, WolfM! The supernatural is still a secret to the general human population, but you can always find information at your local library. Well, this story is complete. I'm still working on Rising in the Shadows, then I'll get started on Death in the Shadows. Then... It'll be done. Anywho, glad you are liking the story!

Chapter 18: Final Fulfillment
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 18: Final Fulfillment
Thanks for commenting, centex! I'm excited the scenes was up to standard! I think completing the bond is what Vincent needed before handling all of the upcoming land-related issues. Cyrus finds his investigative duties are not yet finished. Rumors can easily be ignored, but these seem pretty damning. -
Vincent was jostled awake. What in Dinbe’s name was that? He craned his neck and saw Mason squirming. Prepared to rise and assist his mate, Vincent halted as the larger man sighed and resumed his peaceful slumber. Rolling his eyes, he dipped into the shadows to leave the bed and reemerged in the kitchen. From the oven’s digital clock, it was quarter after three in the morning. He grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and sipped. I must have fallen asleep early. I’m pretty energized! Us

Alternating POVs between two primary characters is a solid move, and won't go out of style anytime soon. I'm happy to hear you've broken your "posting" mold. You picked a fine site with a strong community.

We're introduced to another character, whose problems may not be as severe as Mike's, still problematic nevertheless. Looking forward to the next installment.

I agree, great start. This is well-written and there's enough plot to leave the reader wanting more. I'm interested in this world you've built, considering the human, Mike, knows of the existence of Lycan. Most shifter stories don't do this, so I appreciate a breath of fresh air. Keep it up!

As a Kentuckian, I've had to do my fair share of research involving Sheboygan and Wisconsin. I was pleasantly surprised at their summer tourism crowd and some similarities in speech patterns as my area. Lots of suss on Baxter being a replacement third member for Eike's group. Very interesting... I like Ken. He's going to be a blast to write for in the coming chapters. A deer's senses are slightly more acute than a wolf's, so I'm thinking Shea is underestimating his own abilities now that Cyn's been one-upping him. Ken's egging isn't helping much. MIS6? Also pronounced with a silent S... This made me giggle. I'm curious how he would find Eike and Hauser. Also, you garnered a second giggle for the word, "douchery."

Doc, your comments are golden. INTERSPOL?! That's just hilarious! I imagine there'd be several extended branches of services throughout the world to involve the supernatural. SCIA (pronounced see-eye-ay since the s would be silent) comes to mind. I'm trying my best weekly chapters. Every now and then, they might be a day off, but I really appreciate this comment

Shea woke to his phone's nearly silent alarm. He reached over and instinctively hit the snooze button. Just a few more minutes. Returning his arm to its rightful place, he held Cyn in place. "Sheamus?" The sweet voice broke the silence. Grumbling, the wolf peeked at the back of Cyn's head, "Yeah?" "Are we getting up?" "In a little bit. The bed's too comfy and I want to keep holding you." It had been several days since he slept in his own bed. Having his boyfriend with him w

I think xenophobia has already appeared. The passing comments concern me, but the fact the Kardoval want to meet Essell is the attention-grabber for me. While Garjah says there is no harm, I'm not so sure. Another grabber for me was Garjah's dismay for not having Essell ask him for food. “We are bonded. What you need, I will provide.” I am to assume there is a sense of reliance for the bondmates with the Four-Arms. Garjah must feel the need to serve his mate, and I'm guessing Essell will either feel that need or is to be expected to pull his weight soon. This story is gaining plot traction and I can't wait for more!

Chapter 17: Instant Interest
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Instant Interest
Forgive me, I was very sleepy when commenting earlier. I don't think Stuerm would be stupid enough to challenge. It seems everyone's in favor of Bartlett and Ashford. Maybe Cyrus is waiting to play his cards... Lots of relationship progress going on! We'll definitely meet all the interested parties. Thanks for commenting, centex! A lot is going on, and moves will be made. If you're referring to McCabe and Bartlett wanting distant lands, a change in scenery might be the answer, but we'll have to wait and see. An interesting point regarding the EC! Is the government biased? Who knows? Next chapter will be coming in a week or so. Just gotta be patient @Philippe... -
Chapter 17: Instant Interest
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Instant Interest
Thanks for commenting, and glad you like the chapter! I think Mason and Vincent will always be horny for one another. That may be a negative, but I don't think Stuerm would be willing to face Ashford if it came down to a fight. He's got to be something fierce if the Electric Panda has the willies... Oh, no doubt! I think that's Vincent's goal: be as diplomatic as possible, but rub some dirt in Stuerm's eyes for being a dink. -
Chapter 17: Instant Interest
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Instant Interest
I'm glad you liked everything that happened in this chapter! I know there was a lot to digest, but we're in the second half of the book. Time to spice things up a bit! In regards to your P.S., I'm so happy I can help take the insanity away, even for a brief moment! The next few chapters are in editing, but statements like that make me want to post them with reckless abandon. Try to hold on until next week, buddy! Getting a wee bit personal, I generalized a group of people in my life and created this character, Stuerm. They are obviously wrong, but in their mind, they will always be both right and correct. From their life views and opinions, to butting their way into the spotlight. Now, now. Don't count Remis out! Let's wait for their meetings to see the new faces. But Mason and Vincent have to do something before they take another step forward... well... two things. Oh, Patch! You're making me blush! And oh jeez... another side-story for the In the Shadows universe added to my "to-do" list. They keep piling up and I don't know which one to do first! 😫 I need to make a numbered list and roll a die when this, Cernunnos, and my next secret project is done. -
His. I’m his! A euphoric sensation flooded Kaplan’s chest. Staring into the shiny emerald eyes gave him a sense of worth. Cyrus wants me to be his! The lycan scoured the half-naked man atop of him. He’s so much bigger than me! Power and authority just oozes from his body. Reaching up, he put a hand on the white tattooed bicep. He watched the green eyes glow brighter as their skin made contact, “Cy?” Hearing his name forced a low rumble to echo in the panda’s chest. My bear, what do we do he

I'm still waiting for the "Hot and Bothered" reaction on GA. You go, Essell! Hopefully, Essell will calm down around other people now. Again, great chapter, Cia!

Oh, there are plenty of firsts left to go! I wonder which ones he will tackle next. Val! Don't you think our heroes deserve a day off, particularly Cyn? He's been busy understanding things since day one. I'm surprised his head hasn't popped. Eike and dingus will get their dues. Things will fall into place soon enough. Thank you, Patch! I don't think there will be any lightning here, but I like the idea. Glad you enjoyed the chapter! Oh, Cyn would be such a Disney fan! Although, he might be a little critical over Bambi. Teehee!

Riding in the car became one of Cyn’s favorite activities. The rushing scenery through the windows captivated him for the duration of the car ride. Everything flies by so fast! It’s much faster than when I run as a deer. Several minutes passed before Cyn had the wherewithal to ask Shea where they were going. He was right, I could use a nap right now. The lycan’s hand fell on Cyn’s, instantly putting a smile on the deer’s face, “We’re heading to my apartment. I know we could head back to Ar

Chapter 16: Professional Partnership
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 16: Professional Partnership
Vincent does use his GPS to get to some places, although he can't accurately use it since it probably can't keep up. Google Maps would say. "What?! Two states in less than a minute?" The author must research and ponder. -

Oh, boy. We don't need Vincent fighting alphas left and right and amassing more land... I am interested in seeing where y'all think the story is going to go. Oooooh! Sneaky! I like this.
