Walter skeptically looked at his leader’s cheeky grin. Alright then, he knows someone to fit the bill. But what is with the… Quickly realizing his Alpha’s plot, he crossed his legs and furrowed his brow. “Alpha, surely you jest? Me?” A harrowing snicker left Arric’s lips and leaned forward on his desk, elbows holding up his interlocked fingers, “I dare you to suggest a better option. You have proven your trust, not only now, but throughout your years as my Beta. For the entire time I’ve kno

A very interesting and humorous turn of events! Essell now has an extra set of arms? His breathing and sense of gravity have balanced in equivalence to the Four-Arms race! I am expecting some explosive emotions from our not-so-human Essell in regards to his extra arms. For their lead medical/scientist Four-Arms on board, Timok's miscalculation seems very blatant, almost appearing premeditated, at least in my opinion. "… but I didn’t adequately define the parameters between our species and yours." I would wager that it would be quite important to define those specific parameters between two different species. *puts on conspiracy theory ball cap* I'm pointing a finger, and I don't care about the repercussions. Timok, I'm watching you, bud! Did Garjah know? This is the big cliffie I'm hanging on! Did Garjah know what was going on prior to Essell falling asleep for the most recent time, or when, and I assume, when he carried Essell back to his quarters? Or did our resident security man just find out about Essell's new limbs as the bathroom door slammed in his face? I am kicking my feet like a toddler in a tantrum! Next Wednesday can not come fast enough! Thank you, Cia! This is a fantastic read, and I only hope it continues on for a very long time!

Yeah! I'm pretty new at writing, bud! This pandemy has been messing with my time schedule... Thanks Jeffrey! At this pace, I can't help but say that I have no clue how many chapters this book will hold. Be careful now. We don't want to think about cooking venison in this story... I believe drpaladin answered this with his above comment. It could also be a case of "the one that got away," but we won't know until the bad guy shows up! Or it might be whispers from the hospital, or even the lower members of the tracking team. No doubt a trial will be held, but I don't think Arric wil give much room for Eike to defend himself.
-
I'm certain Arric can, but I think his first priority was to ascertain whether his Beta could be trusted. Whether or not Priscilla, or any of the other suspected treasonous members will come quietly is the question.
-
I'm not a fan of it either, but the pack leaders must take some sort of action. They need their tracking commander, and as much as I want to see Cyn and Shea at the hip for the rest of eternity, Eike needs to be found! Considering that the rumors are brewing, the pack leaders can't go out on their own manhunt.

I'm so pleased to introduce Walter in this story! He's going to be such an interesting character and an invaluable asset to the team. To whom will bring the acorns...only one way to find out! Thank you for this comment! I am delighted to know you are a fan of the stories! What'chu mean 'long ago?' I only started midway last year! Oh, I'm sure Eike is plotting something. He has to know something about the deer being kept alive... Another lovely comment from Patch! Lots of feelings in this chapter, and so many more to come! Just like there will be many more 'what is this' moments from Cyn.

Holding the man in his arms, Shea wanted to let Cyn cry. He hasn’t had much time to let his emotions air out. I’m not the smartest in psychology, but bottling up stuff like this is bad. “It’s okay, Cyn.” The buck’s words from earlier harmed the lycan’s heart. “You shouldn’t say stuff like that. Hey, look at me.” Watching the sniveling red face look up, Shea gave a thin smile, “You think your friend would want to hear you say that? What would he say if he heard you?” The tears were burning a

I'm so sorry that happened to you! I understand wanting to help out where it's needed, but there is a difference between helping and doing someone else's job. I learned this when I worked as a salesman for a mattress company. With only a team of three people, one being the manager, sometimes different responsibilities were forced upon all of us. My manager was the self-proclaimed "numbers guy" and didn't see why he was the one to do the visual changes (hanging large banners, changing pricing signage, ensuring all sign collateral was up to company expectations). He saw me and my (at the time) ambitions for home decoration as an excuse to "cross-train" me for that responsibility. I did not mind such responsibilities, as it got me out of dealing with shoppers and making cold-calls. The district manager found out about this, and how I also performed the weekly store audit, and I was immediately pulled to the side. He explained to me properly how I don't get paid to do that, and my manager does. He did tell me how appreciative he was for stepping up when my manager should have, but assured me that it was not my responsibility. To this day, that DM still chats me up on Facebook and checks in. He's still on the look-out for an auditor position for me, since I almost failed our store each time, since I'm a stickler for operations and argued that a certain walkway should be deemed necessary and it was not OSHA standard (36 inch walkway for wheelchairs). But I was shot down each time. I went to his prized store during a training session and told him to look up, and he saw the nastiest air filter in his life. Needless to say, that go fixed within the training weekend.

In my opinion as someone who has very little interviewing experience, but a lot of textbook business knowledge, these reasons are simply moronic. They do not speak of work ethic, attendance record, and enthusiasm for the position. If the worker was already showing up for work, the only hindrance for the first reason to be the deciding factor would be for an emergency reason, such as no other projectionist being available to perform the task. The second reason should no longer be a factor in any role, other than in the food industry. The third and fourth suggests a bias or favoritism, which can not be upheld in a successful business. Thank you for your comment! I'm sad to see myself leaving the company again, as it has become a go-to when in dire need of employment.

I won't say that I'm actively looking, seeing how I took the time to write this entry, and also have my fingers flying to write more of my story chapters. I'll be keeping my eyes open on job-posting sites, and I may need to have a conversation with our store's union steward about how the interviews are being conducted. I spent the last two years of my college education focusing on business, with classes such as Business Ethics & Social Responsibilities, and Principles of Management. Interviewing is simple: review all, and I mean all, candidates, and choose the most distinguished one. It is important to not settle on the first one that piques your interest, for you don't know what the other candidates will bring to the table. I agree that this company has turned into a dead-end for me, despite working in almost every department for over a year (I've had two stints with this company: a four-year run during college, and a two-year run currently). I know my weaknesses, but I can't combat them. I can't change my six year-old tone, and I don't have the capability of being a demanding supervisory figure. That is what my store wants, and I can't provide that. My manager has been in the game for a while, but he knows what he wants in his store, and I think a cheerleader isn't it. Looking at all of the other leaders in the store, they're big and burly men that easily command a room, or ladies that have a Karen wig in their lockers and aren't afraid to tell their workers what to do. Yep...it's time to start looking.

I’ve had time to cool off from my rant about the wonderful and obviously perfect way of stocking groceries, and I have since moved on to an equally agitating concept. Moving up in the world is, probably, the most difficult thing I’ve ever tackled. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind stocking groceries until I’m old and gray, but I think I owe it to myself and my student loan debt to try my hand at getting a promotion. Without a doubt in my mind, this is the hardest task I have given myself!

Chapter 5: Cyrus' Scourging

I always love your comments, Patch! I'm so so moved that everyone's finding this chapter so touching. I'm debating on some side stories after the trilogy is done to focus on some key characters in the series. Cyrus is definitely going to get one. I believe Vincent's going to get some wolfie time soon. Cyrus and Kaplan share similar experiences and they're going to innately use that to strengthen their bond. I just love this comment, along with the above ones. The fact that this chapter was so moving to everyone is delighting me. Thank for commenting everyone! -

In a lot of cases, the created family can be more familial than the one given to us. I wouldn't say my parents are my best friends, but they did a splendid job raising me. Mom and I enjoy our little shopping trips, and Dad likes taking me to football games, but that's about it. The family I created aren't afraid to talk to me, both as an adult going through life's problems and as an immature dude that makes fun of anything! I totally get the Dr. Doom reference, and that makes me love Cyrus even more! Thanks for the comment It's a damn tragedy, but at the same time, it can awkwardly be seen as a blessing. Cyrus wouldn't be who he is today without that terrible moment. I can only imagine how many readers are aching for Vincent to complete his end of the bond! It's coming...at some point!- 33 comments

Chapter 5: Cyrus' Scourging
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 5: Cyrus' Scourging
Thank you for your comment! I have been plotting this moment since I introduced Cyrus so long ago. His scars hold deep roots within him as a person and how he has evolved. He's easily one of my favorite characters to write for, and I doubt it will change through the course of this book. -
The following morning was filled to the brim with business for the small Alpha. Vincent woke up being cuddled by the much larger man. Better start cooking breakfast! I’m starved, and I know Mace will be, when he wakes up. He struggled for a moment, failing to escape his mate’s clutches. Why struggle, human? Use magic. Oh. Well, that will be handy! Thanks, bud! Feeling rather silly for not thinking of it first, Vincent slipped into Mason’s sleeping shadow and emerged at the foot of the

This story is nothing short of fantastic! I don't think I could ever attempt to write on such a touchy subject. Brilliantly worded, flashbacks were elegantly placed and structured, and you left the story open for future chapters/stories while creating a stand-alone piece. Me thinks I need to read more of your stories!

What an amazing comment! This was so thought provoking! Teehee! Only I know the true identity of the mole...but very good guess and assumption, sir. Rennet does pose a great suspect in this case, and I'm not sure if Arric or Shea would even think of him as being involved. I had no idea what agar was prior to Googling it. Very interesting, but I doubt it would be available in a lycan hospital cafeteria.

Ha! Love you too, big guy! I told you when I was posting this, you was gonna cry...

Boooooo! Get off the stage! -
Thanks for commenting, Val! I hated writing this chapter, but I think it will help the little guy grow. It all came to a peak. Cyn was really showing the herd mentality as Shea was getting dressed "He's following me? So closely?" Thanks, Jeffrey! I'm glad you get to be put into their little world. Personal hell is a good way to describe this feeling for our little deer. Thanks for the comment, Patch! I'll have more coming soon. I love writing this very small role reversal! A lot of shifter stories involve the characters being oblivious while the human/omega character being mortified. But we have Cyn, the very nomadic deer. If it was warmer, I'm sure he'd want to walk out of Arric's manor just as he was born! A beat down? Thor? Oh, boy! Y'all want some action? Simmer down now, let Shea pick up Cyn's pieces first... Crossfire? Woah, woah, woah! I...would never...put Cyn in any sort...of harm's way... Oh...wait. That's how this whole thing started. 🤔
-
A somber chirp raised Cyn from his sleep. His eyes drifted open as he heard another chirp. That...that’s not a bird. A third chirp echoed in the room, but after some movement in the bed, the deer found himself cuddled against a warm and breathing body. In a daze, he looked up to find Sheamus with an arm holding the lycan's head up with the other wrapped around Cyn’s back. When...when did we get so close? The deer almost refused to answer the question as he admired how warm the body felt ag

I just discovered Superstore, and as someone who has worked in retail for a decade, I am floored that I haven't watched this yet! New employee is told to discount all electronics 25% off. Marks everything down to $0.25, including TVs. Other employee makes an intercom page, "GO! GO! GO! Get it all while you can!" Supervisor fights a customer in the parking lot. The manager is having biblical conversations with the other new employee during utter pandemonium. I have found my new binge...
