Terry's inquiries have definitely started up something.

It is a sort of 'cozy' mystery. I like to think the scenes at Cynthia's house counterbalance the growing sense of dread. If Dan was going to get freaked out by the supernatural, he'd definitely have been out of there. I think Terry knows him well enough now to realise that although he was initially sceptical, he's open minded enough not to ignore what he has seen, heard (and smelled!) Next chapter will be where it really begins to get serious.

Maurice was frightened enough to say nothing for all those years, meaning that even if the person who told him to keep quiet wasn't around, he may still have feared reprisals from others.

Terry's imaginings are always going to drift towards plots of films he's shown and they often tend toward the melodramatic.

I guess ghosts have their own priorities. Maybe they can't focus for long enough to give much information. Of course, that makes for a good story, too…😄 From the scenarios Terry and Cynthia conjured up Trevor and Jenny seem likely suspects purely because they went off travelling almost right after the burglary and tripling of the cinema. Of course, that doesn't make them guilty, but it could look that way.

I helped Dan scrape the frost off his car windows before he set off for the cinema, then dried the dishes Cynthia had washed. After that, we started on the spare room. Victorian furniture is solidly built and very heavy. We moved a few smaller pieces out of the room onto the landing and piled the rest in the middle of the room, leaving access to the walls. Cynthia fetched buckets of hot water, while I scored the paper with a knife before we began to soak it. I soon discovered there were sev

All that's to come in the next chapter. When D'gar first meets the boys he's already blaming himself for not sending out more sweep riders around the Weyr and because he fears T'rai and Hinarth could have been hurt or even killed through it.

I wanted this scene to show the depth of their love, so that even though both have seen the horror of Thread first hand, Kadin wouldn't abandon Jevikel. The story will carry on at least until the Hatching, maybe a little further. After that, it's the next part of the story to come. I have a rough outline already.

Thank you. Although we knew already they were rescued, in GAGA it was just reported from Hinarth to Herebeth. I was glad of the chance to write the scene as it unfolded.

That's so true. Ramoth laid between 30 and 40 eggs in each clutch, and being at the start of a Pass, she would be rising to mate once or even twice each Turn. Anne only names the dragonriders who are important to her stories. I do much the same; not every single dragon and rider in R'feem's Wing is mentioned by name, just the ones D'gar knows and interacts with regularly. The same for H'rek's clutchmates. You will find out Kemi's story since she came to the Weyr very soon.

They definitely have the necessary empathy to become dragonriders. Until they know the ways of the Weyr better, it’s a good thing to be cautious. And the story of their rescue will get around the place pretty fast.

It was dusk by the time they found the cave, although Belior was rising and Timor already high above the horizon, providing sufficient light to see by. Jevikel knew he shouldn’t fear pursuit here, yet he still felt uneasy. Something kept pushing him, nagging at him to reach the Weyr as quickly as they could. Parker's dad is showing the wisdom of age. After what he said to Nettleman, he'll be looking for any excuse to have Parker suspended or worse. Parker is beginning to have his eyes opened to the ugliness that runs beneath society. Things are going to get a lot worse in Somerset.

The seance is on the way! Dreams can be infuriating as they mix up so much of what's going on in a person's mind. How much of them are true is anyone's guess. However, Terry had warning dreams prior to Cliff's car accident and now he is having dreams where Dan gets shot, so there may be a connection.

It’s actually really hard to keep someone in Maurice's condition from wandering while they are still mobile. If she locked him in the house, it would be almost intolerable for her. She probably gets to relax a little when he's out on his walks. Nice guesses, again. Only 6 more chapters to go, so the mystery is slowly drawing to its conclusion.

Dreams often mix up the past and present (and may even be a prediction of possible futures). We already know that Maurice saw something and was frightened enough not to say anything about it for all those years. Brenda may well have been more closely involved than anyone knows so far. I can see why she is worried Maurice will inadvertently give away something he shouldn't.

Jenny is not necessarily the one who sent the text. Brenda is definitely frightened. Nice theory regarding Karen - don't think anyone else has come up with that one.

Cynthia may have been right when she said the murderer might be living just a few streets away.
