On the plus side, the old Nokia is fairly unbreakable! Back in 2005, smartphones were relatively new technology and therefore much more expensive.

Or she might believe they're real. Having worked with Jenny and Trevor, you'd think she'd know what their writing looked like.

One, or both? And if so, who did them in? The plot thickens.

Cynthia is very open minded, but then she grew up in the nineteen sixties and seventies, when attitudes were changing. Terry's own parents met during that era too, plus their alternative lifestyle ensured they would be more accepting than the previous generation.

Cynthia is the kind of aunt everyone would like to have! Terry is convinced a body is hidden in the well, too, but finding out who it may be is the difficult part. As he finds out more, it simply extends the possibilities. You're right; although a body was hidden in the cinema, it doesn't necessarily mean the person worked there. The well had been uncovered during the building work and someone took the opportunity to use it.

He's definitely going to try and talk to Brenda now and to try to find out more about the group of people who worked in the cinema back in 1975. He already knows about Jenny and Trevor's relationship; it's a question of finding out who else might have been involved with each other.
  8. ‘You’re very chirpy this morning.’ Cynthia spread her toast with her favourite slurry, while Nipper sat up on his hind legs, eyes bright and tail wagging. Not so far from how I was feeling. Cynthia had already gone to bed when I got home after the cinema closed. I’d shut down the screens in a kind of trance, my brain still unable to fully process what had happened in the staff room. Wisely, Dan had gone back to his office after our second kiss and after we’d swapped phone numbers. There’d b

There is a good reason for that, but can't give away too much right now (there's a clue in Dragonflight, though).
  10. I’m intending to write another book set at Benden Weyr and following D'gar and H'rek's further adventures. Lots of ideas and a few preliminary studies done, but I haven’t started it yet.

    Chapter 10

The tension is really building up now. Mithras is bound to see the new ship as a threat. Is james Bishop trying to are Thad and Evan about the approaching ship, or something else? I'm looking forward to finding out.

That's correct. She went back just a day or so after she and F'lar had decided to send the dragons hatched from Ramoth's first clutch back ten Turns to give them a chance to mature before they had to start fighting Thread. And yes, your hidden content is correct too!

So true. At that point in Pernese history, more people believed Thread wasn't coming back than vice versa (although there was obviously some wishful thinking there as well).

Ramoth rises to mate some time in eleventh month and according to the timeline, lays her eggs some time in second month, to hatch in third, a few weeks before the dust storms herald the first appearance of Thread. That's the clutch where Kylara Impresses Prideth and N'ton Lioth.

At the midwinter before the Turn when the Pass begins, the Red Star is visible in the Eye Rock. So if that's the case at the coming midwinter, then Thread will begin falling a couple of months into the next Turn. From what's said in the books, for a Pass to be definite, the Red Star fills the Eye Rock completely. When it's further away from Pern it may still be visible through it, but much smaller.

The Hold will definitely need to review their methods of raising the herdbeasts. Having them up on the mountain with nowhere to shelter from Thread isn't going to work during a Pass. Having dragons overhead would certainly panic the animals.

I can't give too much away right now as I don't want to spoil the surprise! At least the visit has given the boys some hope of a better life.

A sevenday passed. The lazy pace of the mountains was long forgotten. Each day, Jevikel worked on the reconstruction of the main barn. Vikkel had decided - rightly, Jevikel thought - that it deserved priority. Harvest would begin soon, and there needed to be a dry, secure place to store the fodder and produce that would see them through the winter. He was less happy Vikkel had decided that due to the number of damaged slates, the barn would be best served by having a thatched reed roof, as had p

Interesting beginning. I'm assuming there is going to be more of this story.

Maybe Terry just isn't asking George the right questions? It's good to have some quieter chapters to leaven the drama and mystery.

Rider was the first publishing company to produce the deck which was designed by AE Waite. There are lots of modern variants. The original uses very muted colours, whereas the Universal Waite has the same images, but it much more colourful. There are lots of decks based on the same designs, making them easy to interpret for anyone who started off with the Waite deck.

    Chapter 9

That's really good point and one I hadn't thought of. I agree it seems as if Thad or Evan are going to be chosen this time around.

So far he's just been the guy who immerses himself in work; now, as Terry starts to get to know him, his past will gradually be revealed.
  24. This story has so much to recommend it; a rags to riches love story, danger, tension and plenty of action. The author must have spent hours researching a wide variety of topics to weave this convincing tale. Glad I read it after it was complete - all the cliff-hangers might have proved too much for my heart to take! Definitely worth a read.

Dan has some similarities to Cliff, but at least he's a bit more open minded. Terry will need to talk to Maurice again, and his wife. She worked at the cinema, after all and even if she didn't see everything Maurice did, he might have shared his experiences with her. Colin is a lazy bastard who does as little as he can get away with, hence the state of the place. From my own experience, it only takes a few weeks for a projection box to become a mess.
