I had to rate the final chapter as 'sad' too @Lee Wilson, sad that this engaging story had come to an end and the boys did not achieve mega-success. Unfortunately, I have to agree with @weinerdog that the break up of the band was inevitable as was the comparative failure of the second album and singles. As sad as the death of Terry and the demise of the band was, the story showcased your talent as a writer from the get-go, a talent which has increased as you have gained a following and presumably increased your confidence in your ability as a teller of stories.

Are you sure Pete's family name is Daggett and not Kennedy @Lee Wilson? Losing his brother on top of two attempts on his own life, what more must Pete suffer? At least he did not have to sing Whiter Shade of Pale at the New Years Eve concert. The debut album and singles performed very credibly, but I guess Atlantic probably wanted a bigger return for their investment. If the next album flops I imagine their contract will be cancelled.

I can think of many great songs the boys could add to their playlist to showcase Pete's new saxophone with sax solos by Pete, but in keeping the music in the "rock" vein, the two which spring most readily to mind because I like them both, Urgent by Foreigner and the sublime Young Americans by David Bowie. The latter is probably a little too "soul" though. Dr Mason showed himself to be a fool as well as a homophobe, whilst Dr Allison may not be the best hospital CEO, he is a caring, loving and protective father. I am a little confused though @Lee Wilson. I thought Andy became Cathy's boyfriend after she broke up with Pete, but in this chapter you have stated Cathy came with her boyfriend Jim, another of Pete's friends. I revisited chapter 7 and it definitely said Cathy and Andy were together or did they break up and I have forgotten? Nevertheless, another riveting chapter.

Dr Chun's incompetence appears extraordinary and his attitude arrogant and totally dismissive. I hope he is personally held accountable too for Pete's unnecessary suffering and second surgery. I have to wonder if Miles Jackson could have been saved if he had been transported to a hospital other than St Michaels? You redeemed yourself with this chapter @Lee Wilson, no more nasty surprises for our favourite characters.

The band has had to suffer enough already @Lee Wilson. Not content with them having to play Whiter Shade Of Pale once, you have now introduced it into their set list, "forcing" them to have to play it again and again. The only saving grace, you have not "forced" them to play My Sharona (yet). If this ever eventuates, you "vill" hear me cussing you all the way from Australia. I may not have "the knack" with technology, but in cussing I am the Pinball Wizard. I imagine all the comments above may have had you sleeping with one eye open for some time thereafter @Lee Wilson LOL. The patient mix up in the hospital is believable as I have read instances of this happening IRL. When the mistakenly identified patient is deceased the mix-up becomes a fuck-up of monumental proportions. Apart from the "reader torture" this was a splendid piece of writing @Lee Wilson, very believable and very suspenseful. Now go to your room, go to the naughty corner and binge watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Surely the poor lad could argue he was just Takin' Care Of Business @Lee Wilson, the "business" of Stayin' Alive. After all, had he not done so he would no longer have been Hot Blooded, rather he would have been as Cold As Ice. I like @weinerdog believe this incident has occurred for a reason @Lee Wilson. What that reason is remains to be seen; I hope it does not result in Tyler having severe mental health problems given his "fragile" self esteem at times. Something like this, particularly knowing he has caused the death of someone, albeit someone who might have taken his life, will I imagine have a devastating effect on Tyler. Like @Gary L, I thought Pete was foolish to ask Detective Weston about Uncle Marco, thereby providing a link to himself, albeit a tenuous one. Will his enquiry come back to bite him on the arse? This also remains to be seen. And frustratingly horny and perpetually single Rich may have "met his match" in Melanie.

Mick Jones from Foreigner producing their debut album. Now that is quite a coup. Personally, I am most fond of Urgent and I Want To Know What Love Is. If the boys were to record either of these tracks they could have Pete play the sax solo on Urgent (if he is good enough), and imagine if they could get Jennifer Holiday to do the backing vocals on I Want To Know What Love Is. Her backing vocals turned the song from a good power ballad into an extraordinary power ballad. It was massively successful all over the world, even bigger than Waiting For A Girl Like You. Cold As Ice should go down well with the crowd they play too, but I would play Hot Blooded rather than Double Vision. All are good tracks though so any should have great appeal. The arrest of Uncle Marco and Anthony's cousins on lesser charges has a compensatory "feel" about it @Lee Wilson; the Scott brothers "getting back" at them for planting false evidence to ensure they were arrested for 4 murders they did not commit. A terrific chapter @Lee Wilson, hopefully one which augurs well for the band's recording future.

I am nothing if not predictable in my musical "tastes" it would seem @Lee Wilson. Several of my fellow readers of other stories have remarked on my "questionable" love of disco, which I unashamedly acknowledge as a fact (my love of disco, not their judgment of my taste). Emmylou's version is featured on her album Roses In The Snow which is a predominantly bluegrass album released in 1980. I was not a fan of country music growing up, with a few exceptions, and only discovered how much I liked Emmylou in the 2000's. I try not to look at future chapter titles as this may "ruin" the fun speculating. Reading stories retrospectively has that disadvantage and the majority of authors don't comment on the comments of a "late comer" I have found.

Noah is far more patient than what many would be in similar circumstances, or perhaps he already has invested and is willing to further invest, in this relationship with Bart. Bart is I believe fortunate to have found such a man, although he too has shown courage in acknowledging his issue(s) and compassion for Noah due to his recent sibling loss. I also extend my condolences @Lee Wilson for your bereavement. I echo the sentiments expressed by @drsawzall in his posting above.

Lemmy or Tina Weymouth? It so has to be Tina Weymouth, she was in not one but two bands I really liked, Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club. I am assuming The Boxer is the Paul Simon penned song @Lee Wilson. Whilst I do like Simon & Garfunkel's version, my favourite version is by Emmylou Harris. Like fine wine she has gotten better with age. An interesting story to say the least. Why do I think @weinerdog's suspicion about the police investigating who killed Pete's suspected attacker could be the downfall for Pete and Anthony? Because his suspicions so often prove to be the truth. Nostradamus Weinerdog.

Atlantic Records had some great artists on their label over the years, Bette Midler, Roberta Flack, The Manhattan Transfer, Chic and Foreigner to name but a few. If @weinerdog was getting bad vibes about Pete suggesting to the police who might have attacked him then there is likely some basis to it. He has an uncanny knack of sensing this kind of thing.

Were the police perhaps "testing" Pete to determine if he knew anything about who killed his attackers, or was it just a "cheap trick" on their part? Were they in fact the Dream Police? I suspect you like this one @Lee Wilson. I am not a fan of the band, but I did like this song, which was a substantial hit in Australia too in 1979.

Cousin Donald was a bit of a user I think. Walter is a puzzle. He is well-endowed, apparently not unattractive, but total lacking in sexual confidence. He waits another 30 years for his next encounter.

We have all heard of blue balls, but Walter's would have been black if he lost his hands. He may have had to resort to using his feet.

I remember the album was very successful @Mark Ponyboy Peters. I can vaguely remember seeing them at the State Theatre in 1973 or 1974 in Jesus Christ Superstar (I would have been 10). They were both exceptional. Not long after that their "pop" careers began and we both know how successful that was for both of them.

Very underrated and under appreciated I think. A fine actor too, much like Marcia. I do like quite a few of his singles, but I have to say my favourite is Six Ribbons, just beautiful and his singing was exquisite. Just listening to it brings tears to the eyes (AGAIN). I do like some of TMG's songs, their remake of Darktown Strutter's Ball would be my favourite.

How wonderful @Bft, a relationship I dare say many, regardless of their sexuality, would "envy", or at least admire.

It seems Tony is extending the same invitation to 'the gang' as Annie in this song @Al Norris regarding his "role" in the heartbreak Aaron has suffered in the last five years. I seem to recall you made very favourable comments on Annie at one time, and this song showcases her stunning vocal power and range.

And what about these classics from the 1980's @Mark Ponyboy Peters, amongst @Summerabbacat's all-time favourite singles by Aussie artists: And this hauntingly beautiful, poignant classic from Matt Finish, which makes me sob because of Matt Moffitt's life cut short by a stroke at age 46.

At the moment it appears he is something in between. I think the fact he is so very fond of Toby and that the feeling is mutual, makes him somewhat more than a FWB @pvtguy, but is he part of a throuple? Maybe he is and it has just not been stated by the three of them either jointly or separately.

Mmmm. That certainly would not be good for Toby, or for Brian and Gordon.

I sense Tyler is going to play a bigger part in this story now @Lee Wilson. I must say I have "cooled" towards Anthony, the violence he and his Uncle and cousins displayed, although "understandable", troubles me, primarily because it seems, to them, it was like water off a duck's back. Fear of one's partner is not healthy, and I am not convinced yet that Pete does not have some residual fear of Anthony remaining. If Pete does add some more "rock chick" songs to The Swarm's repertoire, besides Pat Benatar and Joan Jett, perhaps he could add a gem or two by Heart, although trying to match or even part match Ann Wilson's titanic lung power is a big ask.
