Yes, there is a lot more to Carson, but since I wasn't writing his biography, I only included the parts of his life that were relavant to the story. And Devin is a shifter, but he's much more than a guy who can only shift into a wolf or a bear. He's a skinwalker, and being a good one he's been given the ability to shift into many different forms. There's no side door on the house, only a front and backdoor, so that pretty much takes care of a breezeway. From the front door to the garage is about 25 to 30 feet (7.5 to 9 m), so that's why it's a good thing that there is a caretaker removing the snow in the winter. Besides, the boys will only be there the rest of the current year and the next, and Gramps and Pops are only there occasionally, so major construction projects wouldn't be justified. As I told Lee Wilson, I took drp's advice as to how to handle the situation, but since I'm writing so far ahead of where you're reading, since it takes me longer to write the chapters than for you to read them, you won't see those changes for a while. The critical thinking problem may be mine, not the boys, because I'm focused on so many different things at the same time. Yes, they could race around the house as smaller animals, but Devin, Gramps, and Pops seem to feel that it's much better to race around in the fresh air as a larger animal, since there are so many preditors around. What seems like easy solutions to you, many are not satisfactory to the boys. It's not just the exercise, but doing it in the fresh air as well that's the thing, and Devin, Gramps, and Pops all feel it's not only safer to do it as a larger animal, but it's also more enjoyable. Keep offering your suffestions, because you (the readers) may think of things I haven't considered. Like I said, I'm adopting drp's suggestion as to how to take care of the problem of shifting to and from the dog park, but you might not see it for quite a few more chapters. for many reasons. I think I've solved the problem of Devin shifting using drp's suggestion, but since I'm writing so far a head of where you guys are currently reading, you won't see it for quite a few more chapters. Yes, Devin took a chance by doing that, but he was trying to protect Barry, and since the guy were drunk (the cause of many fights) they might not even remember Devin in the morning, at least not remember things clearly. It's the other spectators that might be a problem, but after watching how Devin handled himself, they might not want to get invovled. Preston is a professor, which changes the dynamics of the relationship, so other than seeing Mac at the dog park, I doubt they'll see each other in different situations. Professors and students don't generally hang out at the same places, and Mac isn't taking any anthropology classes.

When they moved into the house, they decided not to have a TV because they thought they'd be tempted to watch that rather than study. They send if there was anything they really wanted to watch, they could get a friend to invite them to watch it at their dorm or their apartment.

Let me try to answer your questions and statements. First of all, Preston is a professor, not a student, so I doubt you'll see him hanging out with the boys. Most professors and teachers try not to do that away from their jobs, because there's too great a chance for backlash and accusations. I also don't think Preston would share information like that randomly with others, unless of course they're all at the dog park together. If Preston met another person at the dog park, he might say he often spend time chatting with another person that brings their dog there, but I doubt he'd use any names and leave it at that. As far as the hunting lodge, I think dogs racing around that area, especially when all four of them were there, would be enough to scare the rabbits to go in their holes, the squirrels would climb the trees, and the birds would fly away. The only animals that might hang around would be the coyotes, especially if they outnumbered the dogs. I hope that covered everything, and thank you for the feedback.

You're welcome Johnny. Louella works, so she'd only be able to follow the boys on the weekend. However, seeing she's a plump woman, I don't think she'd be able to hide easily. I don't think she'd go to the hunting camp, because she'd have to trespass and a conviction of that type might cost her the job as city clerk. That leaves the dog park and the football games, either at the stadium or at Barry's apartment, and she's not going to see much there. We'll have to wait and see how bold she gets.

As I mentioned earlier, it was my first story and I wrote it in response to the Matthew Shepard incident. I decided to have Billy murder the bigot to let others know that gays weren't above using guns to get revenge for injustice, because obviously the laws weren't capable of doing an appropriate job. An just a little incite, the characters were loosely based on me and my best friend when I was in high school. I'm sorry that it was so sad.

I warned you that this story wasn't going to have a happy ending. And there's one more chapter to go.
