    Thanks for the feedback, Danilo, and I'm glad you enjoyed the story. First of all, I thought it would be funnier if the garage man used that description and said something about a Secret Santa, and then claimed the guy signed the work order S. Claws, intentionally misspelling Santa's surname. I thought everyone would still get the point even if I added a bit of humor to the story. Thanks again, and have a marvelous Christmas time.

    Thank you for the feedback, Dr., and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I knew some of the readers might think this story was about the same as the first story, The Spirit of the Season, but this time Yale and Mason were trying to do much of their good deeds anonymously, although Wil and Penny suspected they'd been responsible. It was just to remind others that you can do good deeds without having to take credit for them. The rewards are intrinsic, in that you know you did something good, rather than extrinsic and looking for praise from others over what you did.

    And the word rhymes with ilk and milk, not with those that pronounce the latter melk. P.T. Barnum had a doctorate in ways to bilk others, since he believed a "sucker is born every minute."

    Thank you for the feedback, Scrubber, and it's true. Sometimes when you give a gift, it gives back to you, but not in the physical sense. If only more people realized that, then they might more willing to do more for others.

    @wildoneSteve, are you trying to jinx Aaron and get him hit by a snowplow or something else? You'll feel terrible if something actually happens to him. At least you'll know you'll have a white Christmas. 😜 😈 And are you suggesting that Aaron is a lush or just a conscientious employee that cleans up any messes he makes? 😅

    My husband, Yale, and I aren’t rich, but we live comfortably. We both have decent paying jobs and own a duplex house, and we live on one side while renting out the other. We’re very frugal and only go out to eat at a restaurant on special occasions and prefer to rent DVDs and watch them at home, rather than go to the movies. The only thing we do that may seem a bit odd and a little eccentric considering our spending habits is that we spend $2.00 every week to buy a lottery ticket. We figured

    A gay couple, Yale and Mason, own a duplex and live on one side while renting out the other. After Thanksgiving, they get an unexpected surprise when they discover they’ve selected enough of the correct numbers in the lottery to have won some money. They didn’t win a great deal, but now they’re deciding how to spend it.

    Flesco, thank you for the feedback and your kind words. I hope some of the readers do pay it forward, in one way or another, because there are a lot of people that could use a helping hand. In fact, today as I finished my grocery shopping, I passed a guy holding a sign that said he was homeless and would appreciate whatever help you, meaning those passing by, could give. I stopped and gave him as much as I could afford, since I'm retired and living on a very tight fixed income, but I considered this an emergency situation. May you and yours have a Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
