  1. That's what it was meant to do - give the readers the vicarious thrill of having gone through the Haunted House with the family. Thanks for the feedback.
  2. Thanks, Butcher, and I hope you had an enjoyable even reading about the exploits of the Currie family and their annual Haunted House. I'm certain the overheard comments from those going through the Haunted House were more than enough reward for those participating, along with the thrill of scaring the crap out of others.
  3. During the following week, Joshie and Benny were getting more and more excited about the haunted house and wanted to know if there was anything else they could do. Over the next few days, I gave them several minor tasks to perform and then I thought of something else they could do. On Friday, I asked Benny to get the clothes he’d worn the previous year when he was the scarecrow. I had him put them in the rec room, and after dinner, I had both boys ride with me to the farm of a family friend so w
  4. You will, but it will be a virtual literary tour.
  5. Yes, I'm afraid there will always be bullies. We just have to think up creative ways to deal with them. I'm glad everyone's looking forward to the Haunted House. Thanks, Danilo.
  6. Stix, there probably won't be many trick-or-treaters going out around here for the same reason. I'll be posting the Haunted House chapter on Tuesday, so I didn't miss Halloween by much. The rest of the holidays will be following shortly after that, so I hope you enjoy reading about them as much as I do writing about them. Thanks for your continued support.
  7. Thanks, Tony. I'm sure the elementary school students weren't totally aware of what was going on at the high school. I'm sure their parents would have shielded them from most of it, since it would involved an explaining of sexual identity. I'm glad everyone is looking forward to the Halloween chapter.
  8. Yes, the Haunted House is almost here - in fact next chapter, so I didn't miss the actual Halloween by much. Xander had a problem at school, but the principal seemed to handle it well so hopefully it will end the problem for Xander. We're moving into the end of the year and the holiday season for the Curries, my favorite time of the year, so I hope you all enjoy it as well. Thanks for your support, Butcher.
  9. After the rest of the family left for church, Brandon and I fed the twins, Wyatt, and their friends breakfast, and then they went outside to play. We merely told them not to get dirty and suggested that they do something that would keep them fairly clean. One group chose to play with Dobby and Flash, while another group played bean bag toss, and the final group played lawn darts. They decided to rotate after the other two groups had finished their games, so they would get to do all three things
  10. Yes, Xander is going to be adopted and the Haunted House is almost here. Almost in perfect timing with our own calendar. I'm glad you're enjoying this.
  11. Thanks, flesco, and I agree with you. Unfortunately, bullying has been a problem throughout history. It seems that mankind, in general, needs someone to bully to make themselves feel better. We can only pray that this cycle will end.
  12. Thanks, flesco, I'm glad the you approve of this sub-storyline and appreciate the arc it is taking. This is not the last we will hear about it, so I hope to hear from you again.
  13. Thanks, flesco, and this still seems to be a problem in some school districts, but the Curries will do their best to address it in their community.
  14. Thanks, Jim. I appreciate your support.
  15. Thanks, Danilo. I was certain Star Wars devotees would find that party interesting.
  16. Thanks, Wesley. They do tend to throw some interesting birthday parties.
  17. Welcome back to the family and I'm glad you're enjoying this series. I'm sorry to hear about your problems and hope you have them under control, at least as much as possible. My vision has improved somewhat, so I was able to write again, at least for now. Thanks for the feedback and take care of yourself and stay safe.
  18. Monday was Wyatt’s birthday, so tonight we were having the meal he’d requested, followed by the family party for him. Dad had pulled him aside after we got home from church the previous day and asked what he wanted for dinner, and once Wyatt told him, he agreed to fix it. Dad also invited Aunt Sally, Aunt Mary, Uncle Steve, and Richard to have dinner with us, rather than merely having them show up later for cake. Once they’d all arrived, we sat down at the table. Wyatt had chosen to have sp
  19. I know, I got a warning for responding to one, but not yours. I just wasn't thinking about it at the time. Thanks for mentioning it.
  20. I'm sure that will all come to light as the story progresses.
  21. The 'Who's In Charge' was a reference to the boys and their friends making the decisions on the Haunted House, Xander making the decision on whether he wanted to be adopted, and the twins and Wyatt deciding on their combined birthday party, as well as TJ's needs influence over how the house runs for now. It also was in reference to how Joshie and Benny were largely responsible for what happened to Tamara's assailants, although their grandfather helped push things along. As far as the parenting views, I think you've seen that they're all pretty much on the same page, although we may see more about how they handle different situations in the future.
  22. That's not something I thought of, but it might have been a good idea to include her. Unfortunately, Joshie and Benny had already asked their friends to help out. Possibly they could include her next year.
  23. Thanks, Danilo. The Haunted House will be coming soon, so I hope you enjoy it. I agree, TJ might enjoy Joshie singing too, but you'll have to wait to see if that happens. I'm glad you enjoy the family and story as well.
  24. Thanks, James. I'm glad you're enjoying the family and this story.
