    Chapter 1

Well done, CM. You had me glued to the screen to see what would happen next. We all have different reactions to our feelings of being attracted to another male, and you portrayed two different viewpoints very well.

    Chapter 1

Cole, I've loved most of your stories that I've read, and this story had the promise of being a really good story, except you included so much detail that it made it confusing. Let me explain, start with Bauer's death. By starting with the cardiac event, moving to cancer, and then suicide, you confused your readers. You could have just started with the cancer and had him commit suicide because of the inevitability of his death and excessive pain, and that would have been much easier to understand. I loved the idea of the old library and Todd Spencer, but you included details that you could have used but failed to. When Dalton was first there, Spencer had mentioned the presence of the newspaper morgue, and I later thought Dalton might have used it to investigate the haunting from a death of someone being "buried alive". I think that if you had Dalton use the address of the house and looked through the morgue to find out about Spencer's death and its connection to his husband would have been much more effective than just finding the clipping in the book. Otherwise, there was no need to mention the newspaper morgue on the first place - superfluous information. Also, when the old library building just disappeared and the cemetery appeared was a great idea, but what was the purpose of Dalton reading the tombstone with the name Reed Parker on it? How was Parker connected to this story? When Dalton read that name on the tombstone I was thinking it was the name of the boy haunting the old house. If Parker's connection wasn't going to be explain, then the mention of the tombstone would have been sufficient without reading the name - or even saying the name was too worn away by the weather to be legible - or it appeared damaged by a storm, thus making it illegible. Like I said, this had the promise of being a great short story, but you added too much extemporaneous information that made it a little too confusing.
  3. We know that it comes from French cajoler (coax, cuddle), meaning "to give much attention to; to make a fuss over; to flatter or persuade with flattery"—no surprise there. But the next chapter of the word's history may, or may not, be for the birds: it's possible that cajoler is descended from a word that is cage-bound twice over. What is the difference between cajole and coax? 'Coax' suggests that you are persuading someone very gently and patiently; your intentions are usually honourable. 'Cajole', on the other hand, has a slightly negative connotation. When you 'cajole' someone into doing something, you may choose to use deception. What is the difference between cajole and wheedle? While all these words mean "to influence or persuade by pleasing words or actions," wheedle suggests more strongly than cajole the use of seductive appeal or artful words in persuading. The word cajole was first used in English in the mid-1600s. The earliest known use of the word is from 1645 in Kings Cabinet Opened. Examples of cajole in a sentence: "he hoped to cajole her into selling the house" "we managed to cajole her out of her disastrous plans" "So buy my stuff and cajole your friends into mindless purchasing." "The theater manager does not chide, warn or cajole us into good behavior."

    Chapter 56 S2

Yes, another cliffhanger again. Why? Don't you like cliffhangers? 😁 Hania may be a prankster, but I don't think he'd do that with something this important or serious. He wouldn't want to take the chance that they'd miss an opportunity to get rid of one of the evil skinwalkers. 😲

I suppose that's a possibility, if there is a treasure and depending on how large it is. You also have to consider they'll have to prepare for an extremely long life, and if they have sons, one or both of them will have to take unpaid time of from their jobs to train their sons. We'll have to see how it plays out.

    Chapter 56 S2

Hopefully, time will be short for the evil skinwalker, but the rest of the plan has to go as designed first, so keep your fingers crossed. As far as the treasure, we haven't yet had any indication that there is a treasure. They've yet to go to see if they can discover if there is one. And even if there is, we have no idea how much it might entail or whether they'd be able to benefit from it. If it's artifacts, they may be considered cultural treasures that can't be sold or disposed of in any way. Who knows how this is going to turn out?

No, I worked several jobs, but none of them in television. However, I grew up watching a lot of TV - stay tuned next week, same time, same station. 😜

    Chapter 56 S2

No! Since this was done as a personal favor, any repairs would be asked from an individual, not through the group in charge of the power plant. In other words, he did the guy did it as a favor and it's not quite legal. 😲 🤪
  10. Convivial traces to Latin words "con" (with) + "vivere" (life) to "convivium" (banquet) to "convivialis (fit for a feast). Convivial was borrowed from the French "convivial" and tends to suggest a mood of full-bellied joviality and it came into English in the mid 17th century. The word "convivial" was first used in English in the mid-1600s. The earliest known use of the word was in 1669 by poet and courtier John Denham. Here are some examples of "convivial" in a sentence: "The atmosphere was quite convivial". "The royal party found the university atmosphere convivial". "Ellen and Kevin's dinner parties are always relaxed, convivial events". "The food was cheap, the service cheerful and the company convivial". "It is always pleasant to participate in a debate where there is such conviviality and wide agreement among the parties". "He was known for his conviviality as a host".
  11. Some jobs are boring, other jobs are varied. Jason is suddenly asked to perform a job that he wouldn't normally be asked to do and it leads him on a hunt for his target. Along the way he encounters things that he probably wouldn't encounter under normal circumstances, and he finds out details about himself that he hadn't considered before this assignment. What his job is, where it leads him, and what he discovers about himself will be left unsaid.. If you want to find out this information about Jason, then you'll have to read this intricate, detailed, and captivating short story.

Yes, patience is a virtue that often bears its own rewards. Who Knows? It's possible, I guess, but whether or not the boys can do anything to help the entire tribe is questionable.
  13. Chapter 56 – An Unusual Hataalii We didn’t drive all the way back to the target range this time. Instead, we took a slight detour and wound up at a very interesting location. The first thing I noticed was a very sturdy chain link fence that was about ten feet (3 m) high and had a rolling gate. This means that instead of gates that swing outward or inward, this gate had wheels that allowed it to slide back and forth to permit vehicles to enter. And behind the gate stood a large metal bu
  14. Growing up is difficult enough, but it's even harder when you feel different than everyone else. And it's even worse if you're ostracized by your peers, so what do you do? Do you become a recluse and shut yourself away, or do you try to find a purpose in your life - something that makes you feel better about yourself? Possibly you'll build confidence through your job or with a hobby that you're good at, and once that happens, maybe it gives you hope that things are getting better and your opinion of yourself begins to rise. At least there will be hope that your situation will improve, if and when that happens. This short story deals with these issues for one young man. You may even be able to relate to some of his feelings, but does he react to those feeling the same way you would under similar circumstances? I encourage you to read this intriguing story and learn how this young man's situation turns out.

    Gillette

At the beginning of the story, I at first wondered if part of the reason that Terry was ostracized by the other boys might be because he gave off the acrid odors of the farm - maybe he didn't bathe properly, not washing his hair correctly, or maybe his clothes were laundered effectively. Although it's good for people to read, I hated to see him shut himself off completely and bury himself in his books. I was relieved when Terry seemed to be doing so well as a baker and gradually worked his way through the ranks as a chef until he was promoted to purchasing. I was hoping it would be enough to build his self confidence and he would be more outgoing and try to meet other gays. Maybe having taken the chance and meeting Gillette will prompt him to get out there and try to find someone else like Gillette. Anyway, Cole, I enjoy this story and will be looking for updated chapters about Terry.

    Chapter 1

Not only was this story dated, which wasn't really a problem, but your characters were highly unusual. I might understand Millie's obsession with calling her mother at 6:00 every day, but even back then women were rebelling at unrealistic demands that were being placed on them. Second, if Mitch was so in love with Millie that he had trouble being parted from her, Why would he leave when she went to make a phone call? I could understand if he was upset with her, but I believe he would have waited and told her how he felt after the call ended, not just up and take off. I also found it problematic that Millie wouldn't have realized that since she'd attended her mother's funeral that there was no longer a need to call her mother any longer. And when you talked how Millie's mother and Mrs. Morton sounded alike when they spoke, I was beginning to think that Millie's mom had a dual personality and that's why she was always busy before six. Anyway, it was a sad story, no matter these unrealistic problems.
  17. The word antagonistic comes from the Greek word antagonistēs, which means "opponent" or "competitor". Antagonistēs is derived from the words anti- ("against") and agonizesthai ("to contend for a prize"). + Antagonistic was first recorded in 1625–35. It comes from the word antagonist plus the suffix -ic. The word antagonistic was first used in English in the mid-1600s, as recorded in the writings of Ben Jonson. The word comes from the Latin word antagonisticus. The word antagonism comes from the French word antagonisme. The English word antagonist comes from the Greek ἀνταγωνιστής – antagonistēs, "opponent, competitor, villain, enemy, rival," which is derived from anti- ("against") and agonizesthai ("to contend for a prize"). The word antagonist is related to the word protagonist, which comes from the Greek word protagonistes, meaning "main actor in a play". It then came into the Late Latin (antagonsita), French (antagoniste), and English (antagonize). Protagonistes is made up of the words protos, meaning “first,” and agonistes, meaning “actor” or “competitor”. Antagonist and protagonist used in a sentence: "In the play, the villainous king is the clear antagonist who opposes the protagonist's quest for justice." Explanation: This sentence demonstrates how "antagonist" is used to describe the character who actively works against the main character in a story, highlighting its meaning as the opposing force. 18. Be careful what you wish for seems to also apply to be careful of what you desire when summoning a demon. This is a cleverly crafted and humorous story about two witches that are rivals and one wishes to destroy the other. How do this short story turn out? You'll have to read it to find the answer to that question.
  19. Cynus, I enjoyed your story. It was carefully crafted with the humor built in, but Druella wasn't as skilled as she thought. As far as the imp calling Druella Ms. P, It could have been so he was fulfilling the jobs of both times it was summoned. He killed Druella, while also killing Priscilla, or as the imp later turned the name into Ms. P. Clever way it fulfilled both tasks at once.
  20. Val weaves a wonderful tale of love and betrayal into this powerful and intense short story. She also throws a few curveballs along the way, just to keep everyone on their toes. Do yourself a favor and read this enchanting story that is more romantic than it may seem at first glance.

Val, you sure do come up with some wonderful ideas for your stories. Thinking back upon all those who were found guilty of witchcraft at the Salem witch trials, along with the one that was 'pressed' to death, most, if not all, were probably innocent of the crime. Yet your story shows one truly guilty of witchcraft, or magic, managed to get away. Nicely done and I really enjoyed this story.
  22. "I'm not into dressing up like some animal and I'm not into that whole furry thing," Jason said, "but putting that aside, your group sounds quite interesting." "It is," Adam replied, "and we do a whole bunch of different things. We also have a great time together." "Then how does someone join this group?" "Well, you have to be invited by a member, but if you're interested, I can take care of that." "Yeah, sure. I'd like that a lot."
  23. A humorous and well-written Valentine's story in the distance reaches of the galaxy. This short story was a fun and quick read.

Loved it, Celian. Very humorous and nicely done. Who says space exploration and defending the galaxy can't be fun?
  25. Luis is an extraordinary fireman looking for that special someone, and to his surprise, he might have found him in both a place and in someone he least expected. A lovely short story romance.
