A nice little vignette of love lost and eroded by time , which includes a Youtube video of the song that I’m guessing inspired the story. I agree: very nicely done. And the ending was perfect!

A nice feel good story. It starts with the narrator (unnamed) witnessing an intimate moment at his neighbor’s backyard poolside from his bedroom window, developing a crush on the blond guy who isn’t his neighbor, then relaying it to his best friend once his friend realizes that that he wasn’t looking at the girls that the blond guy is talking to in the school cafeteria. I’ll say no more, except read it!

Jake is out and Christy has fully experienced sex with Alex. I find it interesting, though, that Sam’s being gay was treated so benignly. Shouldn’t Jake be feeling at least a spark of hope knowing that his future roommate is gay? Sam kind of sounds like his type despite their (seven year?) age difference. Hopefully we’ll get to meet the guy in the next chapter. Maybe then Alex will crawl into Jake’s past where he belongs. Sorry, Alex! Good chapter, Katya Dee. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you for the regularity in publishing chapters. It makes the story easy to follow. I complete my stories before publishing too, for that very reason. Loyal readers deserve it.

Jake has confused me. How could he still have a desire for Alex, knowing what the guy did to his best friend and knowing that he has no chance with the guy anyway. And then to make matters worse, he leads Amber on by having sex with her. But at least he was able to “respond in fashion” when the time came (not meant to be a pun). And I seriously doubt that Alex will jump off a bridge any time soon, no matter what. He’s just good at using Jake. Good chapter. Looking forward to the next one.

Well, this is high school where love lives and love interests change daily. What am I saying? You rarely find love in high school. Too busy looking for sex, which Alex seems to be doing. Now that Jake knows the other side of Alex, will he still desire the guy? Still wondering who Mr. Right will be. Good chapter, Katya Dee. I look forward to the next one.

Why does an irrational belief in religion so often associate with drinking, I wonder? Good chapter. A little less emotion than the last one. I can’t even imagine how Jake’s forced date with Amber will go so I’ll just have to see for myself. I agree with Geemeedee, Christy is manipulative and used to getting what she wants. Will that include Alex?

This chapter is very emotional, a catharsis. Did anyone note that after Jake struck back, his father didn’t hit him again? Makes sense when the man is nothing but a bully, a bully who finally met his Waterloo. Jake’s on his own now. Fortunate that he finds love and understanding in Christy’s parents. Hopefully he will find the same understanding when he admits to Christy that he too is interested in Alex. Great chapter, Katya Dee!

“The dinner was the usual mashed potatoes and gravy…” That’s all they had for dinner? How can she be a good cook when all they have for dinner is mashed potatoes and gravy? Maybe eating meat is a sin too? Jake begins to open up, which is good. Good chapter.

Nice beginning. Jake certainly has his share of knotty problems. Can’t imagine parents who put their weird religious beliefs over the love for their children. Looking forward to more. Thank you, Katya Dee.
