  1. Tuesday “Hey, Chris,” I greet, picking up the phone after the first ring. It’s been three days since I last saw him. I played at the Saguaro Grill for the second time last Saturday night and Chris was bartending. We didn’t get much of a chance to talk, though, since it was a busy night for both of us. We did get an opportunity to talk a few times on the phone in the interim, though. However, since last Thursday when we experienced our first kiss, I had been quite busy preparing lectures for

  4. Thank you for your kind comment, lakesinclair. Welcome aboard. If you like this story, check out my other two that are complete.
  5. As always, thank you for your comment, Chris. You’re a loyal follower.
  6. We pull into the Palm Shadows parking lot and I direct him to park next to my red Jeep Rubicon. “Cool,” he says as he parks. “You must do a lot of off-roading.” “Yeah, I need it for my field research since I have to get into places where a car would never make it.” He gets out of the car, steps up onto the sidewalk and admires the Jeep from the front. “Wow. You must end up in some pretty gnarly places if you need a winch, which looks like it’s had some use.” “It has. Despite it being
  7. Thank you, Fae Briona; however, I don’t understand. “I saw it on a male model in a magazine, liked it, and had the tattooist duplicate it for me. I have no idea what it means, though.” Why does that make you cringe?

Dodger, maybe you could somehow relate Tyrone to Don in The Cockney Canuck. Actually though, I kind of like Tyrone. Somewhere I think there’s a heart in there.
  9. Good analysis, travlbug! Thank you for that.
  10. Thank you, mikedup.
  11. Thank you for commenting, Chris and IBEX. Glad you like this chapter.
  12. Thursday Last night before we left the Saguaro Grill Chris and I arranged to meet downtown at the fountain in El Presidio Park at 1:00 pm. He has classes until noon. While I could drive, I choose to take the bus and suffer the necessary transfers in hopes that Chris will drive me home so I can show him where I live. I arrive, finding him standing at the fountain, waiting for me. What I see, though, pleasantly surprises me—or more appropriately, pleasantly shocks me. It’s a far different side

Dodger, you are one of the most entertaining and funny writers that I’ve read yet. Please keep it coming. Haven’t seen an update in quite a while.

Thank you, IBEX. I never knew that Paul has a brother Ed until you mentioned it. Just viewed the performance on YouTube. Cool! My, they looked so much alike in 1968. Nice that both brothers were accomplished guitar players. However, because the story has already been written, sadly our Callan and Chris won’t be performing it. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but please keep reading anyway.

Tuesday I received a call late this morning from Joe Maris, Chris’ manager, telling me that Chris had given him my name and phone number and that he would like to schedule an interview and an audition for one of the two performances that he planned to stage in the Saguaro Grill bar. I was elated and wanted to share the news with Chris and thank him again, in person. He had mentioned last night that he would be working again this afternoon and evening, so I head to the Saguaro Grill mid-after
