  1. Poor guy seems to have been totally denied an actual, proper childhood. Hardly surprising that letting go a bit (even if it is chemically assisted) has him regressing back to the last state he felt safe in.
  2. Poor Reinard. Been there little guy, sometimes someone really needs to step in, even if you can only appreciate that in retrospect.
  3. Loving the culture clash - the differences clearly go far deeper than face value, with Reinard struggling to understand why a simple apology hasn't fixed everything.
  4. This is fantastic, like reading a description of a chess game (and I mean that as a compliment!). Going out on a limb here... the breaking of ancient bonds, revolution against elder Vampires - does the word Viniculum mean to you what it does to me? Lovely touch if it does!

    Chapter 30

Well, I'm getting properly drawn into the plot here! Still can't decide if Kemuri is as guilty as he seems; magic exists after all, and he did press his bloody thumb to that glass cube... could Faes be controlling him? Need to know more about the NDA I suppose. Really enjoying this, thanks for writing!

    Zack

Zack lay on his bed staring at the ceiling, his mind wandering. Since his parents had taken early retirement and moved their family out to the country to be closer to his aging grandparents he'd been constantly bored out of his mind. Family stuff was OK, but in three whole months at his new school he'd managed to make precisely zero friends. It wasn't exactly surprising; he hadn't had many friends before he'd moved but there had been at least a few. The new school was far smaller - which meant t
  8. Charlotte juggled the bundle of blankets as she fumbled for her house key, the thick snow and numb fingers making it enough of an operation without having to keep her cargo balanced on her hip. At last succeeding, she shut the winter storm outside behind her and allowed herself to breathe properly for the first time since the argument with her oldest brother. She knew he meant well, but at nearly 21 and living in her own home quite frankly it was up to her if she took this little guy home, and w
  9. Charlotte lives with her neko girl in the shadow of a foster father she hates, but rarely sees any more. Life is peaceful since she moved out of her foster home, and taking in a new rescue catboy to nurture seems a logical expansion of her little family. Finn, her foster brother, runs afoul of his father for the same reason Charlotte had - being caught in a compromising position with a member of the same sex. All he really wants is space to figure himself out, and act just like the neko he adores. Zack is struggling to make friends. The only person who appeals is Finn, who for some reason resists every overture of friendship...

    Chapter 70

Aww! Thank you so much for this story - I'm a sucker for painful backgrounds, bumpy rides and eventual happy endings, and you certainly didn't disappoint with this one!

    Christmas?

Yeah, I do tend to get into stories and just devour them! No apologies; I want to be moved by hurt/comfort stories, sort of the whole point really!

    Christmas?

Just... wow. This story has been wonderful - I can't remember the last time I legitimately cried reading but this did it. Absolute bliss, happy ending made all the better given the struggles it took to get there. Thank you so much for writing it!
  14. I'm loving the flow of this story - just found it and read everything so far in one go, couldn't put it down. Thanks so much for writing it!
