What!!! Ok ok ok..breathe..sigh. That. Was. Beautiful. You threw in a few curveballs. Not liking Toby and Heather not lasting but I DO love the idea of Toby and Olivia. Yeah, that is awesome. I really would’ve liked to see Jackson and Charlie on the same team again for the Olympics but oh well. Where was Coach? Alas, it was a great story. I’m glad Cindy came around. I’m glad she realized what she stood to lose. I’m glad things worked out. That’s quite a time jump. I liked it. Well done.

She’s got ‘em all beat.

I think Jackson is eager for Luke to come around. As I said last chapter, Luke is still too fragile, too unsure . I get a vibe of his unease about what the future holds for him at home. I wonder what his father told him on the phone when he called him back. Cindy has been such a force to Luke in his life the thought of her alone now is toxic to him only he doesn’t realize it.

“Does this change your plans for school?” . Too soon. Should’ve waited until they got back.. maybe a few days after.

Also, since Luke came out to his mother escaping to the beach is exactly what’s needed. She needs to come to terms with this news away from him and the ability to shut him in. Henry is going to have his hands full. Bless him. Also, Jackson is reading Luke absolutely on point. Luke is still struggling. Everyone needs to envelop Luke in one huge group hug of support. He needs to know he is supported by more than Just Luke and Jackson’s parents and his father. Yes Cindy needs to as well but …that will take time. A lot of it. I also LOVE the relationship Toby and Heather have. It’s cute and fucking hilarious at the same time. They already banter as if they’re married. It’s awesome. I also LOVE the history and love Jackson, Derek, and Toby have for each other. That ketchup story was a beautiful side story. It really enforces the bond they have. The girls..have something somewhat different but it’s definitely not weak. It is by as strong or as long but it’s there. I have no doubt by Luke trying to bail, that he still feels very much an outsider. If nothing else, he needs to embrace his nickname of Church by Toby. He didn’t earn it out of hate. I’m not sure he realizes that. The growth of both Luke and Jackson this story is really heartwarming. Their bond is a fragile one on only one level right now. It is all going to be saved on whether or not Luke runs back home, or stays with Jackson. If Jackson can get him to reconsider the Georgia area, they’ll be ok. If not, I’m not sure Luke is strong enough to hold it together. He’s brave enough don’t get me wrong, but, he’s been wounded to his core foundation more by how much HE is holding onto his guilt of making his mother cry. He’s very fragile right now. This week is critical.

Perhaps a bit of both? But I do agree Cal is a bit expressive. I just wonder how much of his expressiveness are thoughts in his head vs out loud. Either way he’s hilarious

Let’s just roll with it. I chose to say quiet to my mother because she’s a narc very manipulative. That said, she can’t help that. It’s just the way she is. Overbearing and uber helicopter momma, although she wasn’t as severely restrictive as Cindy had been. Cindy is ..sigh. Cindy is 10 times worse and to my mother’s credit (or maybe my own I don’t know) she’s mellowed over the yrs and has accepted that when In shut her down on her guilt trip attempts I shove it back. Maybe she’s learned it’s pointless. Now, for me to have gotten to that point I had to go though a lot of shit as I mentioned in prior chapters. Henry reminds me of my father in the sense that he’s very hands off without being completely distant. HE knows the cliff notes of my story and while he’s of a generation that doesn’t talk about their feelings etc, he hasn’t disowned me. Thankfully he also knows that IF mom knew, He’d never have silence again. So there’s some intercession from him when she gets herself amped up. Anyway, not to side track much, I think Luke finally essentially snapping himself was freeing in many ways BUT I still see a lot of waffling between a longer commitment to Jackson long distance. Maybe he’ll come around but right now eh. To me, telling his Mom he loves Jackson isn’t necessarily the saying that he wants to follow him. Jackson is going to struggle hard.

Teenage sarcasm and anxiety is hilarious. You’ve fucking got it down. Ok ok back on point here…Blair knows her brother waaaaay better than he realizes. Warren is bold..I like that. Very brave. Cal better fucking text.

@Krista can I just say you’ve written Cindy’s character brilliantly? Because you have.

Ok..breathe …sigh… I sad faced the story because ..well it’s just sad to see someone like Cindy’s denial get shut down and it completely breaks them. I’m still in the terrified stage of never telling MY mother for the same reasons Luke didn’t.

I’m also not sure if Jackson is really going to handle the finality of leaving for Georgia as well as he’s expecting especially without Luke. Don’t get me wrong, I’m proud of Luke for standing up to his incessant mother..but he’s not resisted her completely yet. It’s coming though.

Because it’s taking something of Jackson’s with him wherever he goes as a reminder that he can do things he’s afraid to do. That’s how I see it anyway.

Ive met Mark Tremonti guitarist for Alter Bridge, Creed and his solo band Tremonti a few times. Super chill dude. We’ve chatted via twitter once in a blue moon. Really about it. I’ve only met him before and after a few shows they were doing. Got the autograph and a pic.

Great chapter. Two things as takeaways I have however. One, Oliver absolutely hit on Jackson. Two, the tattoo and Luke’s literal lukewarm disposition about it with Jackson bothers me. It feels like he’s already saying goodbye.

Luke is still torn. He didn’t say it. But he’s fighting it, showing it. He feels guilty about what his mom did at the party and at the same time feels guilty at times towards his mother I suspect.

I kind of expected Luke not to get into Georgia but part of me still feels like there’s more to this than he’s saying. Yes, he said he wants to stay close to home, but I kind of get the feeling he’s still torn between pleasing Jackson and his mother. I’m not sure how I feel about Jackson’s reaction either. He kind of acted like nothing will change. Like it hasn’t hit yet. This isn’t resolved yet. I still feel that since Cindy found the rejection letter before Luke did, this has her manipulation in it. It’s a good chapter but sort of leaves me unsettled.

Oh I’d have told her more that just to back off. It’s way passed that point now as Cindy isn’t listening to anyone and barely listened to the principal. She’s beginning to unravel me thinks

Props to both Luke and Jackson. Luke for finally publicly pushing back against Cindy. Jackson for not pushing back as it isn’t his fight. Olivia would be wise to formally file a complaint to the principle for Cindy’s behavior.

Cindzilla saw red when she saw her son dancing in such a way that would make a nun have a heart attack. She’s losing control of her son and she knows it. She’s only making enemies now and even more so with other staff and adults. It’s only a matter of time until she has a mental break at this rate. Frankly I’m shocked she didn’t get slapped by Olivia on the dance floor.

She’s not coping well at all with her perceived loss of control.

The kid turned out to be a narcissist
