  1. It simply takes more energy than it is worth

    Chapter 9

Great song, but I'd prefer Charles Boyer to the guy in Cyndi's video.

    Chapter 3

Why am I not surprised LOL. I don't recall this particular ABBA offering from my university days - and I don't recall ever having seen many of the pictures, especially at the beginning of the video, when they were just kids. Thanks @Summerabbacat for giving us a soundtrack to a fav author of mine, @Mark Ponyboy Peters, whom I have "known" since my days of haunting Awesomedude.

    Chapter 2

Wasn't Ms. Minogue on a Dr. Who series, serving cocktails on the intergalactic Titanic or some such? David Tennant was involved, was he not? We now have David in the States with an American accent on Grace point or something like that. Sorry to be wandering off, but I find David so much more, um, compelling than Kylie. In any case it's good to "see" you again @Summerabbacat !

    Chapter 7

A man can only do so much in the time allotted to him. Choices need to be made, and one can only hope that Michael and David are keeping their eyes on the Prize, however they would define it.

    Chapter 6

I think that good man was there all along. He lost his way, but he always had The Right Stuff. Now he's found it.

    Chapter 5

In an odd way, talking to Andre first would be a logical step for Michael to take due to a third party (David) having seen the picture of Michael kissing him. That would be tantamount to Andre being outted, though we don't know whether Andre was already out-and-proud. In any case, out of courtesy Michael should tell him, no matter how "complicated" it all is.

    Chapter 1

Yes, I know Michael messed up royally. But even as I was reading about his entanglements and downfall, I was not entirely unsympathetic to his plight. I am happy to start reading about how he manages subsequent to his colossal failings. Very few of us are beyond redemption. Let's see if he can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

    Chapter 2

@ChromedOutCortex, you are a Master of your craft.
  10. I'm always stunned by the capacity of some to harbor hatred, especially for ones they supposedly love. So sad.
  11. Definitely!
  12. Had to laugh - I did the same. That first summer home was not very comfortable. My Dad got monosyllabics from me, my mother a bit more, but not much. By the second summer, I made sure to make alternative arrangements, going overseas (those were the days of grants and scholarships galore!). Even Christmas was difficult - when I didn't go to the midnight service on Christmas Eve, my parents knew that things had changed, though in the end I never gave up on the Church.
  13. Don't I know it! Most of it is water under the bridge in my own case, but it's interesting how "life imitates art" in so many instances. As a naive Only Child from a small Midwestern town, I was incredibly immature. University was quite a growing experience, virtually all for the Good. Actually, I had forgotten a lot of the angst, but @ChromedOutCortex brought so much of it back to remembrance. I'm amazed I survived it all, and even more amazed that I'm still friends with so many of them - including One Who Got Away.
  14. Although my college days are LONG behind me, this has brought all sorts of memories roaring back. Nicely done!
  15. Profoundly moving. Amazingly so.
  16. Oh, I sure can relate. I didn't do too well coping in high school. And I had no Tony - not till years later. The path is not always easy. At least my "sunny disposition" and a healthy sense of humor worked to my advantage. They still do 🙂

    Chapter 23

An amazing tale. Sobering, to be sure! I'll even admit to seeing bits of me scattered here and there. Kudos to the Author @ChromedOutCortex

    Chapter 18

Michael is definitely his mother's son, eh?
  19. Tris

    Chapter 15

Ryan's correct - dealing with Michael's mother is indeed like making a deal with the devil.

    Chapter 14

Too many repercussions, sad to say.

    Chapter 13

Me too. Or it could all blow up in a multiple clusterf*ck.
  22. Tris

    Chapter 11

Something along these lines occurred to me as well. So sad.
  23. Tris

    Chapter 10

Need I even remind us of the Bard, who exclaimed "what tangled webs we weave."
  24. Tris

    Chapter 9

I just knew Michael's mother wasn't just sulking in her room while Sarah was recovering. Evil rarely relents.

    Chapter 6

I'm sure Michael's mother was doing more than sulking in her room. After all, it's her house...
