    More than Maybe

I often feel the same way myself. @Jeff Burton is a master of his craft, and anything I'd have to say would simply pale in comparison - which is why @Jeff Burton is a Writer and I, at best, am a Reader.

    Chapter 6

It goes without saying that the scripture quote can be taken any number of ways, depending upon the context. There are so many possibilities. I vote for Joey being a serious, self-hating Closet Case - and that's just for starters. I'd love to see what @Josh Aterovis makes of all this!

And your Public is enjoying it all just as much. You are a gift to us - as is Luca to Jamie (and vice versa, I would imagine!).

    Somewhere Between

one of the major themes of my life LOL
  5. Don't I wish!!!
  6. My sentiments exactly. I was troubled by Etienne having to choose whether to stay with Charles or join his two new Italian friends - and wondered how the story would resolve that dilemma. Perhaps @Summerabbacat has sensed how this will all work out. I am not very good at anticipating future developments of stories, being content to let the authors take me along for the ride, which @E K Stokes is so adept at doing.
  7. I've always loved this song, but I never really focused on the lyrics until now. It's uncanny how it "fits" poor Jamie and his situation. For all we know @Jeff Burton may have collaborated as lyricist ... except the timeline would be all wrong 😉

    Being Seen, Maybe

Yes @Jeff Burton - you are. And thank you @Ticklishboy30 for pointing it out to us all.
  9. Gotta love both Jamie and Luca. We have @Jeff Burton to thank for that, of course. What a beautiful story, amazingly presented.

    The Edge of Maybe

    We're drooling 🙂

    The Edge of Maybe

Our local watering hole (non-alcoholic drinks ONLY) finally closed because their coffee was so awful. So now my Main Man and I have coffee at my place (yaaay!)

    The Edge of Maybe

    Run, Jamie, Run!
  13. Great story so far! Looking forward to more. I can just picture youz guyz. Wish I had been there myself 🙂
  14. This is so well written, it's as if I'm being dragged down with our Hero (anti-Hero?) into the Depths. While I haven't experienced anything like this personally, it's not as if the emotions are all that foreign to me. I guess I can empathize. Kudos @Jeff Burton.

    Somewhere Between

Don't sell yourself short, Pal 😉

    Somewhere Between

Something about Our Hero speaks to me. Perhaps it's more due to his native intelligence than any Reality we might share. Meanwhile, Luca is amazingly perceptive. I so want them to "find" each other - though I guess Luca already has 🙂
  17. Etienne has intriguing options! Poor Charles - if Etienne abandons him. Poor Etienne, if he misses out on what Florence may have to offer. I don't know which way I would have chosen. Perhaps I am too unimaginative, so I will happily rely upon @E K Stokes to guide me in this instance. I just hope that Charles' heart isn't broken.

    Chapter 1

I've never done Uber. I can't even remember last time I took a cab - out here in the country that's hardly an option. I wonder what I've missed - but then, I'm a man of the 20th century, not the 21st. I guess, @Jeff Burton, this is a long, round-about way of "voting" for you to construct a mini-series. This is a world of which I know precious little.
  19. You're too good to us!

    Chapter 4

    I agree entirely!
  21. Where have you been all my life @Jeff Burton? What beautiful work - what amazing talent. I am in awe.

    Chapter 3

Oh, I've done it - but it took me a few decades to get the nerve. Once I had my breakthrough, I happily went crazy trying to make up for lost time.

    Chapter 3

What a FUN chapter - though I never would have had the guts (at that age) to run my hand up the inside of some guy's leg. Obviously, I missed out LOL
  24. Indeed! An exceptional beginning to what should prove to be an amazing tale. As someone who has lived on both sides of the Channel for extended periods of time, I was immediately drawn to the setting as well as to the characters. I've also had a long-time fondness for the chateau country, and found myself transported - just what I needed for some reason this day. Can't wait to read more!

    Chapter 2

It's an Old Testament quotation from the book of Hosea.
