Thanks for the prompt addressing of the last chapter's cliffhanger. Until now there was a great deal of conjecture on what had happened to the rapist director. He was not killed , but terrified and humiliated The director had to face his worse fears up close and found the rattlers very threatening. Returning home he founds a rattlesnake in his bed and seemingly everywhere and had to jump through a window to flee to a neighbor. Animal control removed 11 rattlesnakes from his home. I am reminded of the scene in Godfather where the hollywood exec who opposed the Godfather found in his bed a bloody severed head of his his prized stallion.The exec got the implied message at that earlier time and I assumed a veiled, and indirect threat has been orbwill be given to the rapist to stay way from Travis. Will assummed Jake was behind the rattlesnake scare. Jake learned what would really scare the director. But , there was no evidence linking Jake to it at least for now.
