  1. OMG was pretty much my target reaction.
  2. Anything’s possible until the publish clock strikes.
  3. Maybe because it’s the most obvious? Apparently, anyway.
  4. You don’t want me to sing. It’s worse than my villains.
  5. Didn’t know I was writing a soap opera. 😁
  6. Glad you like it. Welcome to the party. Unless I missed a previous comment.
  7. An unhindered life in prison, true. TMI.
  8. But who said they weren’t real? Smart enough to know his defense was screwed. That would be a good trigger. You’re excused.
  9. But wait! There’s more! I’ll confirm a delay. Not saying how short it will be. Maybe not all along, but by the time Skylar was introduced, this chapter was written and Stef had returned. But you all were right about Skylar stepping away, just not the method.
  10. But does he “know” anything specifically about this case? Hmmmm.
  11. Not too long a wait, as I said above. But what about between chapters 13 and 14? At least 13’s bombshells are mostly resolved in that chapter. Mostly.
  12. All true. Unless she blacked out the worst of it. I can’t imagine anything worse than a backyard abortion. But even I’m not deranged enough to go there. No comment. But I do like to change things up a bit. The parents may actually go free on a technicality. Hehe
  13. Speculation all over the place. All I will say is you have less than 20 hours to wait until a lot of it is resolved. Of course, that doesn’t mean more won’t be shared. I might have to revisit Eve. I hadn’t really given her another thought. Good idea. I wonder…. And this raised another question I hadn’t previously considered. Where was 4-year-old Nick at this time? Oh there will be flashing lights. Not sure about any going out.
  14. Thanks. I promise not to leave you all hanging too long. 13 is already scheduled for tomorrow morning my time. I just hope I can get through 12’s comments by then. 😀
  15. Am I the kind of person to just have the bad guys waste away in prison? Naaaah, something more has to happen to them.
  16. Oh, I am going to have so much fun with these comments when I can respond later. I really love all the speculation. Especially… no, I won’t say that. You’ll have to wait until tomorrow.
  17. Thursday came and with it came Steve’s MRI. The doctors weren’t taking any chances with a possible head injury, scheduling it immediately. The initial findings were negative for any anomalies. A follow-up visit with the pediatrician was scheduled for November fourth. Friday, Brendan was surprised when Stephanie Lawson showed up for the next CPS check-in. “Hi Stef. Are you and Skylar trading months or something?” “No, I’ll be your caseworker from now on again. I had to head back ho
  18. South Carolina. You remember correctly, there was some speculation that the family had to move quickly for some reason. I didn't confirm anything then, and I'm still not confirming or denying anything about that. The MRI happens in the next chapter and preliminary results are shared.
  19. Getting warmer, but not the water bottle. No children came before Jill. Not saying more than that. You're probably right. Maybe there will be more examination of the hole.
  20. Questions, questions, questions. I will at least say the water bottle is not related in any way to Jill's issues. The rest, you'll have to find out in a day or two. That would be a nasty turn of events, wouldn't it? Steve wouldn't be affected by time in the hole: Another we shall see item.
  21. I'm glad you're seeing it as healing. I'd hate to be ripping open old wounds. Even though this is just a story, I don't think anything in it is out of the realm of possibility.
  22. And I haven't published the next chapter yet, so there's a chance there too.
