  1. True, but in many cases, the foster system requires the foster child/children have their own bedroom. At least that's what I understand, and my reasoning for the house search. Perfectly valid worries.
  2. Monday morning, they all slept in a little later than usual. After eating the breakfast fixings he'd bought the night before, as planned, Brendan took them all shopping. He knew that since the house was devoid of food, it would be a big order. Rather than have them fight over it, he let Jill and Steve each push a shopping cart. He figured before they were done, they'd need two anyway. He was wrong. He and Nick had to run up front for a third. Nick helped him push that one. Fortunately, it only g
  3. That he does. And more is coming.
  4. He/I would never strike the dogs with it. I say I because there are 2 dogs in my neighborhood that while not outwardly vicious, growl when they make an appearance.
  5. Not so late, we’re only around a third through this. Welcome aboard and buckle up. It’s going to be rough roads for a while. Like 9 more chapters at least. Hehe
  6. I know you won’t believe me, but there won’t be any jaibreaks.
  7. Perhaps, but Kathy ought to be turning in her “Trump” card and trading it for anything else. Nick showing up randomly would have been too unbelievable. He almost slipped in chapter 1: The rest of the line was almost, I thought it was your house.
  8. It is. Especially about next chapter’s “Oh No.” If that’s an “oh no,” we’ve got “oh hell no” and “oh fuck no” coming too.
  9. Sniff, sniff. You don’t trust me. Well, I suppose I can’t blame you.
  10. No, really. The Oh No coming up has got to be the tamest problem I've ever written. You'll see.

    Chapter 67

Naaah. But wait until I order my copy of "These Really Aren't Words" dictionary.

    Chapter 67

But use fewer syllables for us simpletons.
  13. I've quoted this song before, perhaps it should the theme song for all my stories. B-b-b-baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothing yet.
  14. I suppose that depends on your definition of fun. If you're normal, that's true. If you're evil, they may be more fun than you think.
  15. Hell, I invited him here. Believe me, in a few chapters, you will totally believe I'm Satan.
  16. I'm not going to really answer this one, I don't want to give too much away, but simply, no, and yes.
  17. More fun, very true. The court case won't last long for two reasons, I don't like dragging them out too long, and, let's just say, extenuating circumstances.
  18. Pretty much how I thought it, mom don't like him, she won't look for me there.
  19. TBH, the earlier chapters with Greg, he was a late addition, something comes up in another chapter or two where I needed an extra body. So, he is fairly distant for a while.
  20. Nick is almost 8, Steve 13, Jill 15.
  21. True on the tickets, but Brendan didn't want to take further advantage of his brother, as indicated, he thought Rich had been doing enough. Good change for all of them. Nope, not dealing with any custody battles in this one.
  22. I think you're right. And sometimes, I get wicked for a few chapters in a row.
  23. There's still a lot of "under the table" payments happening. If you happen to have a job like that, you're screwed if you have an accident at work.
  24. Or the author just didn't want to deal with it, hehe.
  25. Yes, we have worker's compensation, I just didn't feel the need to muddy the story with those details.
