  1. So, a 180 degree turnaround. Got it. People can change. Can’t they?

    Prologue

In all likelihood, a demented one.

Nope. Well, not Manny's anyway. And even you haven't seen chapter 6 yet. A rude man's way of malapropping Waldorf-Astoria. That's obvious, Dr. Sawzall a la mode.
  4. Of course. OK, so he's only 80% gay. Hmmm, I guess we'll see. Yep. Feel free to repeat this comment in chapter 2.

The psychic predictions begin. I'd be too tempted to add things that would crush the story under the heels of the moderators if I made Rocky swing the same way Manny does.
  6. Good. I hope I can find enough of them to completely confuse you all.
  7. Exactly what I was going for.
  8. Caught another one. Cool beans.
  9. The questions about Boris lead me to believe you’re no longer finding my manuscript to read ahead. All in good time. I sure hope those drivers get met the same way, but I suppose anything is crazy enough to happen in the world we live in today.
  10. Good, my painting him as a less than disirable parent was noticed. Wise beyond his years. But why? I guess more good chapters will answer that, but you may be surprised.

Interesting, intriguing, ominous… I sense another handful of adjectives on the horizon.

    Prologue

I could have called it, no wait, minor spoiler ahead

    Lots of trouble? Me?
  14. Got you hooked, now to reel you in and gut you like a fish. Well, not really. Maybe just surprise you.

    Prologue

Yeah, well, I guess ominous as a description fits my style better. Not to mention, you'll be right.
  16. Monday The hangover wasn’t bad, but Manny Talbot’s head still pounded in time with the opening beats of his ringtone, 'We Will Rock You.' He thought to himself, ’Okay, eleven o’clock in the morning isn’t too early. I guess, I’ll answer it. Maybe a rich uncle went toes up or something.’ “Hello?” “Good morning. Is there a Truman Talbot there?” “This is Truman, who wants to know?” “This is Brewster James. You’re a difficult man to track down, Truman. Is it okay if I call yo
  17. Sunday night. Truman (Manny) Talbot just finished his second date with a new guy. He loved to play the field. Sometimes he’d date a guy three or four times before moving on. Once, he made it to seven. That was the only time, he’d ever had sex. Excluding oral, of course; because that wasn’t really sex, in Manny’s mind. Monday, he got a phone call that may have to turn his current two or three date relationship long term. What was most curious was that it was from a lawyer, representing a guy
  18. A response to Prompt #68: Imagine where your character leads a pretty decent single life. Then there is a phone call and that life is turned upside down as they find out, they have just become a parent—to a teenager. Is this a cousin that has been left with no other family members? A god child? A niece or nephew? What is this first meeting between them going to be like? The circumstances whereby Manny obtains guardianship are a little strange, to say the least. Not to mention what happens afterward.
  19. Awesome. I noticed this yesterday. I hope others will take advantage of it too.

    Chapter 49

If all else fails regarding accuracy, do what I do. Fake it. 😃

    Chapter 49

Oh, man, I love writing courtroom scenes. I even threw one into my last story where it was completely unrelated to anything. Send me what you want accomplished and I’m there. OK, j/k. I know you don’t need that, you do damn well on your own.

    Chapter 49

dealing with Calvin is depressing. Ya think? Maybe slightly understated. Good job, as usual JH.
  23. That cranberry sauce should say ‘Handle With Care’ otherwise it will be ‘Heading to the Light’ with ‘Tweeter and the Monkey Man’ all the way to the ‘End of the Line.’
  24. I wouldn’t let that thought Linger too long. But yeah, it’s ‘The Cranberries’ after they all got their pilots licenses.
  25. Thanks. Probably more humor in this chapter than pretty much any other. Anybody want to fly a kite with me? 😈
