    Death sometimes brings out the best in most people. In general, people are sympathetic. For now is accurate. Seven-year-olds who lose their mother tend to have some uncharacteristic reactions. Not a spoiler, just truth from personal experience. But that drives a lot of what we write, doesn’t it?

    Odd that this is an upbeat but also a somewhat sad chapter. Being a Yank, I didn't know who Alan Turing was. Sounds like he left this world too soon, he could have made a bigger difference. I suspect I'll be in the UK next year or the year after, my younger daughter is engaged to a young man from Covington. Too far from Manchester to check it out though.

    Even if she did, it was water under the bridge for Jeremy. With the windfall from his father, being booted wasn't a terrible thing. Once Adam was in the picture, it was inevitable. Geez, now you're at least two chapters ahead with your predictions. And yeah, if the co-workers did hear about it, as you could tell from her telephone conversation with Mrs. Perch, Dawn wasn't very well liked. That just gave me an idea for an addition to chapter 22.

    I like having intelligent children in my stories. Yes, the hammer is falling hard. If my research is correct, because the amount embezzled is over $100k, it's actually a first-degree felony. The fine doesn't change, but the sentence does. I initially had fewer instances but bumped the number up to hit that threshold.

Has Mrs. Prescott shared a memo regarding the recommending of the foster care system this week?" "Not that I'm aware. I didn't get one, and she didn't dictate one to me."

    Things are looking up for our heroes. Hopefully they’ll soon believe they really do have a home with Max and Daisy, I mean Stacy. Oh, and congrats on giving Dr. Bowels (great name by the way @Anton_Cloche) the boot. I usually treat homophobes pretty nastily in my stories. I’m hoping maybe he’ll fall in the tube and lose a leg.

    Fun chapter. I was almost expecting some other reason Jaxon and Rory had for not changing together. I guess that’s still a possibility. But one of my thoughts went south, that they had small penises and were embarrassed about it.

    There you guys go again, telling the story ahead of time. Oh, wait. I’m not writing it that way. My mistake. I never understood ‘my bad.’ Bad is an adjective, mistake a noun. Every time I hear someone say ‘my bad’ I think ‘your bad what?’

    Yeah, sudden death is only good for sporting events. My dad was getting into the shower when he suffered a fatal heart attack twenty-three years ago. Not the kind of phone call you want to get while at work.
