  1. Lee Wilson

    Prologue

It was when I typed that, but I do have a draft of chapter 2 done already.
  2. And it was harvesting time. I think Roy got the pick of the crop.
  3. Hopefully it’ll be interesting. But yeah, kinda funny, especially after I reduced the severity of Cory’s injuries from what I first considered.

    Prologue

Me too. I’m not a chapter ahead like usual. Haven’t even thought about chapter 2
  5. Wasn’t me.
  6. Wow. Thanks. I hope I can maintain that high level of praise.
  7. Reminder, Roy’s parent’s views are Roy’s impression of what they are. He’s ass-u-me’d that. Cory’s been living there. Roy will be the new one at school in a couple weeks (their time). The combination of Roy and his dog would probably keep all but the dumbest homophobes quiet.

    Chapter 8

Good chapter, as usual. This song has always hit me.

    Prologue

I think this one will end up being closer to weekly. Every 3 days means a chapter of one or the other every day. Although writing this one went quick, so far. We shall see.
  10. Moving sucks. Sure there are positives, but when you're almost 16 and going to be a junior in high school, those positives never outweigh the negatives. Sure, the house is nicer. Dad got a raise and a promotion. I don't have to share a room with my little brother anymore. All of that pales in comparison to having to leave all your friends. I guess I'm lucky I didn't have a boyfriend. Who am I kidding? There's one person in the world who knows I'm gay. Roy Kendall Patterson Junior. That's me by t
  11. "Roy! Go out and shut that dog up before the neighbors complain." "OK, mom." Geez. A guy can't even jerk off in peace. It's 2:00 in the afternoon. 95% of the neighbors are at work. Who's he bothering? But, why fight it? A 125 pound Rottweiler isn't a dog that a lot of the neighbors are going to like. I pull up my shorts and head outside. "Lucky! Come!" He takes a step toward me, then turns back toward the fence at the far end of the back yard. "Now!" He whines a lit
  12. Roy Patterson just moved into town. About to be a high-school junior, he was not really happy with the move. But his dad got a promotion, he got a bedroom of his own. Leaving a few good friends didn't make up for all that. Two weeks in and he hasn't found anyone who could be a friend. That all changes one Sunday. The circumstances around that change are, to say the least, a bit odd.

    Chapter 41 S1

I found a lot of parallels with places in Pennsylvania. Not sure if it’s still there, but Knoebel’s sound a little like lakeside. An older, family style park. Pretty sure they serve food though. The drop tower reminded me of I think it was the Dominator, at Dorney Park. They had the kiddie dragon roller coaster too. I don’t remember what it was called, but there was a similar model town in PA as well. Good job. I’ll miss all the characters, but holy hell, there’s only a little less than three weeks left in 2023. They go faster as I get older.
  14. I definitely wanted them to have a relatively easy time of it. And yes, quite mature. I should have named her Jane. You could have used an old Saturday Night Live line. “Jane, you ignorant slut.” Per Dan Ackroyd. He had a little help from Jack. True, but for some, hatred never goes out of style. I wanted to make him upbeat. Not exactly the comic relief, but the story needed to start moving away from sad. Yep. Another place to bring cheer back into the story.
  15. Agreed. And he might.
  16. Unfortunately, that ignorance does exist. I wanted to make her hateful and hated. I figured adding that character trait would do it. Dad's a good guy. The return of Zach? Who knows...
  17. Correct on both points.
  18. Irish Sportspage. That's funny. On Grandpa, well GMTA.
  19. Before we left for the viewing, I talked to Dominic about how it would be. "You remember the casket we picked out?" "Yes." "Well, your mom will be lying in it at the front of the room. It will look like she's just sleeping, like when we saw her at the hospital last." "OK." "There will be a lot of people there. They're all going to say things like 'I'm sorry' or 'it's sad this happened.' When they do, just say thank you. If you want to talk more, that's OK. Everybody will
  20. Um, OK. I don’t get it I’m sure it’s just me.
  21. Definitely an oddity, but I've heard that everybody has a doppelganger somewhere. I feel sorry for mine. 😀 Interesting will turn out to be an understatement. Cool. I tried to make the first impression a whole lot different from the person.
  22. Well, since I'm not a psychologist, I probably won't make him suffer too long or too deeply. Starting at the bottom, for sure. Me too. Hehe. Another body part will be rolling, not literally.
  23. There will be bumps, for sure.
  24. Sunday night, August 20 Aside from skin tone, Rosa Cruz looked a lot like Janice Bennett. Adam didn't seem to notice or didn't say anything about it at the party. His subconscious noticed and brought it to the surface shortly after bedtime. Jeremy and I went to bed a couple hours after Adam. We thought we heard crying coming from his room. After a few moments of listening at the door, we knocked. After getting no response for a few seconds, we knocked again. Once again, we waited a few seco
  25. I don’t know what to say except to echo what everybody else has already said. Sad, but beautiful. I’ve commented elsewhere that I don’t show my emotions well. Unfortunately, that means I didn’t use half a box of tissues, but I did need to wipe away a few tears. Well done, sir.
